I feel so lonely. I have an empty nest, no friends here, because I moved to a new city. Been here 3 years. God has blessed me with a brand new home, paid off car, no money problems to speak of, an up coming trip to sunny Jamaica for my birthday. I’m am alone ALL the time and lately it’s kinda overwhelming. It makes me cry a lot when I should be smiling and joyful. But the loneliness is really yucky. HELP

This could not have come at a more perfect time. For the past 8 days, I’ve had all my friendships tested when I went through a traumatic experience and no one cared. I was confused whether to just forget about it and continue being with bad friends and it’s been weighing on my heart. I feel so much of what J had said and how disappointed she was in her friends and how she had high expectations of people who couldn’t give her what she wanted. I feel better knowing it’s okay to love and forgive people but discontinue the relationship. I am praying every day for a true friend. Thank you for this podcast ladies!

Empathic spirits can somewhat sense other's pain. Because of this God given gift empathic spirits are strong encouragers and comforters. We expect the same from our friends but they might not have that gift.

I have never learned how to have healthy relationship and I've been a serious Christian for about 2 year's. I also struggled with addiction my whole life and I'm 38 and have been clean sense June 5, 2017. I love you ladies and Joyce you have all taught me to love myself and to be a good friend. Friendships are about reciprocity... Its sad when we make excuses for selfish behavior in saying we cant expect this or that from a friend.... Its called reciprocity. I have stepped away from three friendships bc of the lack of reciprocity. Ive never felt more peaceful than I do now. I've had numerous friendships and not ever comes further than the superficial. The longest friendship I did have for 14 years I had to walk away because it wasn't healthy. We Believers have ‘Living Water’ (John 4:14) bubbling up from deep within us. God can use a Holy Spirit filled friend to refresh us. Especially when we feel weak or discouraged, we need good friends to remind us of our blessings and kick start our faith to overflowing again.
Thank you for this podcast. It gave me clarity. I recently “ broke up” with a friend and still don’t understand why it happened that way. I have apologized for things I don’t even understand and she never acknowledged any of the things that took place. Maybe it was not the right friendship. 🤷🏾♀️

I had some really bad experience with some "friends". I had "friends" who scammed me of large amount of money. Then I had a friend who I was helping after her injury but she had very high expectations and also lacked personal responsibility, gossiping. I got very drained, when I put up some boundaries she didn't seem to be so interested anymore. I also had some people who seemed to want to be friends with me but they had a problem with my family situation and judging. But I have been blessed with good friends too. And I keep praying for God to protect me from bad friends and give me good friends.
I truly love listening to these topics you ladies are amazing! I’ve been able to relate to a few of these including this one. Until recently I didn’t think friends should ever hurt you and vice versa. Boy did I learn my lesson! People will hurt even though it’s not intentional. But forgiveness is powerful and necessary to move forward!

I have been on a road of physically being alone for more years of my life of marriage than physically being with my husband due to his working away in other states or abroad. I have always been a person that could never say "No" to anyone if they needed help or something from me. I always felt if I said "No" that the person would be upset at me and that I would lose the friendship whether if was a family member of a non-family member. I finally learned this year through God that I can say "No". I have my family whom are my friends and I have other friends, I can relate to Jai when she spoke about how when she needed her particular friends through her time of need and they weren't there for her, I too have experienced that too many times not only with friends, but also with my family. Sometimes I just want to tell my family "Hey it's me Mom the person physically here on earth whom has and will forever be here for you, do anything for you, support you, love you, ect, so why can't you be here for me by even offering to help me or even check on me"? Ok ladies, I just spilled my guts. I do struggle alot with feelings of hurt and being left out from my family and some of my friends. I have wonderful adult children whom were raised in God's Word and Church, I have a wonderful husband that we've been together over 29 years, but because he likes to work away from home in other states like over 20 hours from our home it's hard. I thank God for me, my husband, my children, my grandchildren and my friends. I thank God for each of you and Mrs. Joyce. I ask for prayer for my needs and I thank you each. God Bless you all.

I'm sitting here bawling and even more lonely since giving up the life I was living. I have no friends except God and my dogs. Now that my disease has progressed, I panic at the thought of having to get out for necessities because I cannot avoid smells that trigger violent attacks. The devil's loving the fact that my depression is eating me alive. The pain is excruciating sometimes unbearable. My Dr won't prescribe me anything due to addiction possibilities. Theres no cure for this disease so why do I have to "live" in so many aspects of pain? Spiritually, emotionally, physically, and, financially. May I impose virtual prayers if someone reads this? Ginger, Yes! You've Got Mail. I thought immediately of that line when you gave her the daisies and sunflowers! And sunflowers were my dad's favorite flower (he graduated to heaven in 2011). Love that movie and often think of the lines in that movie in everyday life. "Don't you think daisies are the friendliest of flowers?" :D
It's hard for me right now because I'm in this boat where I'm not sure if my friend and I can repair what has happened. I think sometimes people can't receive a empathetic person if they may be insecure about certain sides of themselves. All I can do is leave it to God. But I'm hoping for a miracle because I felt that it was a divine sisterhood it just maybe isn't supposed to be full circle yet.
Thank you for this talk, you just lifted a heavy burden off me, I've been trying to be a people pleaser these days and it's really not like me, I will just allow the Holy Spirit guide and lead me in my friendship, and I have removed that image of the friend I want which I see in the movie from my mind, because that's making me to be unfriendly to those around me.
Father God is our best friend. Let the Holy Sprit be your guide, if you mess up repent surrender to God and Praise Him, Glory! Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
It’s crazy cause.. don’t pay attention to the picture from 2012 lol but I’m 20 and my father just died about 6 month ago and what jay said about people getting akward is exactly what I’m going through and currently powering through. My mom said my friends lack of understanding and “empathy” is because of their youth and them not losing anyone that close, but I still expected more and really felt lonely, unappreciated and disregard when I didn’t receive more. Although I haven’t necessarily took the action of “breaking up” with my friends because God and my mom has convinced me to give them a little bit more grace , I have still separated myself from them in THIS season due to their lack of effort to support me.

I had some really bad experience with some "friends". I had "friends" who scammed me of large amount of money. Then I had a friend who I was helping after her injury but she had very high expectations and also lacked personal responsibility, gossiping. I got very drained, when I put up some boundaries she didn't seem to be so interested anymore. I also had some people who seemed to want to be friends with me but they had a problem with my family situation and judging. But I have been blessed with good friends too. And I keep praying for God to protect me from bad friends and give me good friends.

I truly love listening to these topics you ladies are amazing! I’ve been able to relate to a few of these including this one. Until recently I didn’t think friends should ever hurt you and vice versa. Boy did I learn my lesson! People will hurt even though it’s not intentional. But forgiveness is powerful and necessary to move forward!

I have been on a road of physically being alone for more years of my life of marriage than physically being with my husband due to his working away in other states or abroad. I have always been a person that could never say "No" to anyone if they needed help or something from me. I always felt if I said "No" that the person would be upset at me and that I would lose the friendship whether if was a family member of a non-family member. I finally learned this year through God that I can say "No". I have my family whom are my friends and I have other friends, I can relate to Jai when she spoke about how when she needed her particular friends through her time of need and they weren't there for her, I too have experienced that too many times not only with friends, but also with my family. Sometimes I just want to tell my family "Hey it's me Mom the person physically here on earth whom has and will forever be here for you, do anything for you, support you, love you, ect, so why can't you be here for me by even offering to help me or even check on me"? Ok ladies, I just spilled my guts. I do struggle alot with feelings of hurt and being left out from my family and some of my friends. I have wonderful adult children whom were raised in God's Word and Church, I have a wonderful husband that we've been together over 29 years, but because he likes to work away from home in other states like over 20 hours from our home it's hard. I thank God for me, my husband, my children, my grandchildren and my friends. I thank God for each of you and Mrs. Joyce. I ask for prayer for my needs and I thank you each. God Bless you all.

You have been my miracle tonight! I'm sitting here bawling and even more lonely since giving up the life I was living. I have no friends except God and my dogs. Now that my disease has progressed, I panic at the thought of having to get out for necessities because I cannot avoid smells that trigger violent attacks. The devil's loving the fact that my depression is eating me alive. The pain is excruciating sometimes unbearable. My Dr won't prescribe me anything due to addiction possibilities. Theres no cure for this disease so why do I have to "live" in so many aspects of pain? Spiritually, emotionally, physically, and, financially. May I impose virtual prayers if someone reads this? GOD bless

It's hard for me right now because I'm in this boat where I'm not sure if my friend and I can repair what has happened. I think sometimes people can't receive a empathetic person if they may be insecure about certain sides of themselves. All I can do is leave it to God. But I'm hoping for a miracle because I felt that it was a divine sisterhood it just maybe isn't supposed to be full circle yet.

Thank you for this talk, you just lifted a heavy burden off me, I've been trying to be a people pleaser these days and it's really not like me, I will just allow the Holy Spirit guide and lead me in my friendship, and I have removed that image of the friend I want which I see in the movie from my mind, because that's making me to be unfriendly to those around me.
Father God is our best friend. Let the Holy Sprit be your guide, if you mess up repent surrender to God and Praise Him, Glory!

It’s crazy cause.. don’t pay attention to the picture from 2012 lol but I’m 20 and my father just died about 6 month ago and what jay said about people getting akward is exactly what I’m going through and currently powering through. My mom said my friends lack of understanding and “empathy” is because of their youth and them not losing anyone that close, but I still expected more and really felt lonely, unappreciated and disregard when I didn’t receive more. Although I haven’t necessarily took the action of “breaking up” with my friends because God and my mom has convinced me to give them a little bit more grace , I have still separated myself from them in THIS season due to their lack of effort to support me.
