Lyrics:
on the street i’m a kingsize killer
I can make your kingdom come
on my feet I’m an earthquake shaking
so open up my little one
hey what are you looking at
who the hell do you think I am
what are you looking at
like you never seen a broken man
lover nail yourself right to me
if you go I won’t be well
I can hold my arms right open
but I need you to drive the nail
hey what are you looking at
who the hell do you think I am
what are you looking at
like you never seen a broken man
How do you see me now?
You built my tower to tear it down.
And how could you see me now?
If I stopped cracking up myself
If I stopped cracking up

SHE ATE THAT UPPPPPPPP
I'm sure she has eaten the camera off-screen. RIP the cameraman's job😔 /jk
she DEMOLISHED! but to those of us who are longtime fans, that’s no surprise 😌✨
Saw her live, but this performance? That was really out there!
Hadn't heard of her until this most recent album, heard there were NIN influences so i had to check it out. I was not disappointed, i think my favourite track on the record was Big Time Nothing. Looking forward to checking out her whole catalogue.
Translation:
“We’re better than you new fans…….. Hmph 😤 ”
@@Mio248 girl that’s not how I intended it to sound at all! lol
@@joeagger Oh that’s okay. Lol
That guitar when the flames first appear is MONSTROUS sounding!! What a amazing performance, has some kinda dark 80's synthpop kinda sound to some of it but with a modern base.
Intrigued to hear the rest of the album now, gonna have to check it out for sure.
Lots of backing tracks.
@@BIZARBIES Chill, those are just patches triggered by the keyboardist Rachel Eckroth, who's also equally amazing underrated artist. They're all mixed in properly and still add to the musical context here.
@@GuyWhoLikesTheSnarkies1435 Yeah, as someone who's listened to this song a LOT I recognize tons of differences between this performance and the studio recording, there are lots of additions in both the guitar and keyboard parts here (especially in the second half).
theres a strong NIN influence here.
On the and of 2. Kind of catches you slipping on the beat. As a guitarist myself, I quite like that!😊
Industrial rock needs to come back
Industrial is alive. It's just moved to other genres. I recommend checking out Locked Club. Russian electronic duo that hits hard af.
Check out the latest HEALTH record. It tickles all the right spots without being derivative.
I'm also getting Pj Harvey vibes.
@@petabulmer3317 Definitely "To bring you my love" era vibes.
listen to Model/Actriz
ANNIIIIIEEEE oh my god. To see her evolve over these 14+ years of being a fan has been such an absolute pleasure. Never fails to amaze me. And she didn’t even touch a guitar here 😭 holy smokes
I saw The Polyphonic Spree at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO and have always wanted to confirm she was on stage that night. Her 'Love This Giant' album and tour with David Byrne are/were so awesome!! So excited to see her at the newly renovated Brooklyn Paramount this fall!
She evolved a lot as a performer, she used to be kinda shy but now she's so confident on stage, very cool song too.
Shy? LOL! She's always owned the stage! th-cam.com/video/VDh9bp2y14k/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=StVincentVEVO
you obviously never saw her crowd surfing back in like 2012 lol
@@SharkeySpice She was definitely more reserved in during her debut album.
Been stage-confident for more than a minute
I saw her back when she was first blowing up and she was not shy at all
annie has me in a CHOKEHOLD, what a performer, what a performance. just immaculate stuff
The ultimate artist with a hell on wheels band. Those other guitarists are fantastic.
I saw St. Vincent in concert tonight. Absolutely amazing performance. Master musicians. Incredible energy. Great band. Annie's talent is on another level. Love the new album.
Wow, this is the most exciting thing I've seen or heard in terms of music for years now. I hope the world takes notice and inspiration... we need passionate and exciting music as much as ever right now.
There's a video on YT of a concert she did in Austin years ago that is one of the best shows ever.
Consider that as the opinion of a Gen-X prog/fusion/neo-classical guitarist who played in a number of thrash metal bands back in the day. Her guitar style is pretty damned cool. I also like that she played guitar in that show. This guy is good, but her style is it's own thing, and I was really missing that here.
it's because your type of music is garbage sorry honey but dj's aren't musicians. This is nothing special they used to do this all the time. inspiration?. you drinking that tiktok koolaid, do you have magical nubers by chance?
No, the Swifty's probably think it's too scary.
i play her signature model guitar, we've taken notice. id suggest a deep dive into her catalog if your unfamiliar
She's been doing music like this for years. She has a small but very loyal fanbase, is incredibly prolific and consistent.
Love this album, love this artist. Can't wait to see her Live in September!
Right?! It'll be August for me. Gotta hurry up and wait a couple months.
September for me too!!
Where in September?
Me also, in Brooklyn.
Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
If you like this performance? LoL You ain't seen nothing yet
it's obvious that she's influenced by NIN for this album. i like that. she keeps doing something different as that makes her exciting.
I get more PJ Harvey from this song
"Something different" after you said nin inspired 😆 the only different thing is the gender of the vocalist
@@guitaristssuck8979They meant doing something different *for her* in her own discography, it’s impossible to make truly unique music everyone is inspired by something
I’ve watched her progress from the time I saw her playing guitar with the Polyphonic Spree, she is fascinating and very talented.
@@riggamorrischan yeah, we live in a recycling era. If everyone copies anyone else in such a formulaic what's the point? It's called lack of personality.
Why would you listen to greta van fleet if you have Led Zeppelin?
Glad to see a real artist like St.Vincent is out there pushing boundaries & making great rock music again. Hope is still alive.
Heard this on the radio there other day, HAD to come YT it and hear it again. This was the first hit on the search. I'll be checking out the rest of the band''s stuff. I'm 64, been rockin' since 15 and loving this. The drums, keys and bass propel this song.
@@TheEvilDrRit’s such a fantastic performance from the band - not meaning to be THAT person but she’s a solo artist and voted one of the greatest guitarists currently (despite her not playing here!). She started off her solo career after the Polyphonic Spree back in 2007 with Marry Me, but you have got to check out Actor and Strange Mercy, the latter being her best work. The guitar playing in songs like Surgeon, Marrow, Rattlesnake…she’s incredible.
@@gimo80 Polyphonic!?!
I know a coupla people that were in that band around 2013 or so. I've been hearing of St. Vincent for ages, always thinking she had a connection to Dallas/Fort Worth's local music scene. Guess I should've been paying more attention to her back then, but it's hard to keep with all the great players in North Texas!
I dunno what they put in the water around here, but the area just churns out talented musicians. How cool to find I'm 2 or 3 "degrees of Kevin Bacon" from Anne Clark. LOL.
I'm only 2 degrees from Paul Simon and Jerry Garcia, though.
And 1 from Edie Brickell, Maren Morris and Leon Bridges.
Anyway. I watched a show she did in France w/ David Byrne, and several other things on YT yesterday. She's amazingly diverse, and hugely talented. Will be diving deeper in to her catalog, for sure.
@@TheEvilDrR Watch her show here from The Fillmore in Detroit from her "Daddy's Home" tour. It's fantastic
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 you clearly don't understand what is melody/harmony aka music 😂😂😂😂 and she can't play both.
She never fails to deliver. Ever.
I just discovered St Vincent. She is amazing
Watch her performance at Austin City Limits, she is fantastic.
enjoy
i just did one week ago , wow!!!! Amazing artist!
I’ve watched this video seven times and it’s not getting old.
St Vincent will never get old
OMG! THIS IS THE PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR! AMAZING!
One of those artists that sound better live than in the studio. Crazy
She kills it every appearance. I think I first saw her about 15 years ago with the black keys and she killed it. I saw her two years ago solo and she killed it. She wasn't even on guitar for this set and her guitar skills are exceptional. What a talent, what a performer. Go Annie, go!
She is a living legend.
Best album she's done so for ..incredible...❤
She is a generational talent. The entire package….and the range and timbre of her vocals….wow!
One of the best performances I've ever seen on late night TV. She is so fun to watch and this is coming from someone who only few months ago didn't really know who she was!!
@St.vincent-tn3wm my pleasure, love your new LP!! It's also so admirable that you texted back personally to a fan!! I'm so excited right now! You have a great day too!
@St.vincent-tn3wmI've been a fan since you dropped Broken Man and Flea from your new LP.Then went out and got Marry Me and Masseduction which are great LPs too. My daughter is going to get me a couple of your other LPs for Fathers day! What really made me a huge fan though was this performance on Kimmel, you're such a incredible performer! I'm from Gresham Oregon about 15 miles east of Portland. Thanks again for replying and sharing your gift to the World!!
Absolutely FERAL!!!!
Very Nine Inch Nails, I LOVE IT!
I haven't seen perfomancce like this for many years 😂 outstanding as always!
Last year in March I was listening to my all time favorite rock radio, I listened for the first time to this drooling American singer-songwriter and I immediately liked that today her music is present every day to smile endlessly! St. Vincent rocks and is one of the best singers of the 2000s ever and I am very happy to be a fan of hers!
💯💯❤❤🎸🎸
Her and Trent! Can we get a mashup?! Thank god for St. Vincent. This is how music once was ❤
this is it, Nin bass player conrteibutes on this track.
What a great collab that would be!
The guitar stab at 1:14, oh my goodness.
Jason Falkner / he's been everywhere and back - love him so much / he's the perfect 2nd guitarist for St. Vincent
@St.vincent-tn3wm Thank you!❤
forgot to give a thumbs up. She's really one of the best artists.
Absolutely incredibly talented young lady.😊🎉❤
Live how she keeps taking chances, like a real artist…with real musicians playing real instruments.
Annie's a fucking rock star and I'm sick of people not acknowledging it.
She is perfect... every song, every album, every performance
Ah how I love this song, wonderful this live version 🔥
This performance needs more views!!!!!!!!!!!!!
😎
With Rachel Eckroth on keys and vox!!! Wicked song and performance.
She is an absolute force.
This song is PJ Harvey circa 95. If you like this listen To Bring you My Love album from 30 years ago.
Check out her Glastonbury 1995 legendary performance. This is now my favorite St. Vincent song.
First 10 Seconds and I thought:
PJ
There are other moments on the album (like the opener, 'Hell is Near') where I get a strong vibe of Tori Amos' "From the Choirgirl Hotel", which came out 1998. Both of these are excellent influences. And oh my god, does she crush it live.
The first thing that came to mind for me was Queens of the Stone Age, but you're definitely right. Very PJ Harvey.
I was about to say exactly the same. For all we know PJ from the nineties, and with all respect to St Vincent’s fans, this doesn’t sound too original, actually (even the clothing has been influenced 😅)
Happy Fathers Day - you’re such an incredible artist; thank you, you fill the void and are beyond beautiful to nobody’s daughter like me ⚔️🪷⚔️🤍🕊️🫂🫶🏻☀️👑
The lady knows how to put on a show!
Saw this the week it was released but neglected to comment. Jimmy's show remains hugely relevant to, I"ll say, North American culture - Canadian here! - and I need to thank you for that. Annie has an unforgettable stage presence, and the musical talent to pull off everything she sets her mind to. She surrounds herself with stellar musicians. Many thanks, Jimmy Kimmel, for showcasing the best of the best.
Incredible artist, performance, and record!!
Amazing music ! And I cannot take my eyes off her
Always happy to see Jason Falkner!
Long live Rock and Roll
Epic stuff from St Vincent.
Probably her best live performance ever 🔥🔥🔥
Annie's so fuckin' cool
1:13 Dayum girl!! Who's that fine woman on the bass? She goes absolutely ham with her bass tone there🥩🔥 And Mark Guiliana is killing the drumset as usual😤😤 This is a splendid performance, no cap.
Charlotte Muhl Kemp, long time model, musician, Sean Lennon partner
@@gradaloo Sean Lennon's partner, huh? Annie surely knows how to pick up only the best musician to play for her music😤🔥
check out Ghost of A Saber Tooth Tiger, her and sean lennon
Yeah, that's a very satisfying fuzz tone. Well crafted.
It's 2024
One of the few, legit creators these days.
ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of the best performances on this format. Annie kills.
She plays every instrument her self at home ! Cool
Love it Annie! Great album, again.
she fucking killed that
St Vincent gives SO much!❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥😍😍🤩🤩😍😍🤩🤩❤🔥❤🔥
Oh, my god! Outstanding performance! Raw, wild, brilliant!
I adore the BASS player...
Charlotte Kemp-Muhl.
INCREDIBLE. This is easily my favorite Tv show performance she has done, next to Marrow on Letterman
Annie I love ya girl; best guitar player I have ever witnessed frfr.
As talented as musicians get.
the ending legit gave me goosebumps
Absolute perfection!!! Get it Girl!
Thank you Annie for your passionate performance. You inspire me to keep evolving while listening to your heart ♥️.. I can’t wait to see you when you come to Philly in September!!!!
What a performance! 🔥
Brilliant as always 👢👢
St. Vincent and PJ Harvey are my two mothers
That was GREAT!!!✌️😊👍❤️
Maravilhosa apresentação e St. Vincent sempre sensacional!!!
I love it ! The song, the band, the sound, Annie's performance ... What a thrill !
She commands the stage! Loved this performance 😍
Love this album. Best album 2024
#stvincent is my favorite artist. Saw her live a few years ago on my birthday and she was absolutely amazing!
Oh. Okay, Annie. I'm seated.
Stunning xx
This makes me so happy! Go Annie and Charlotte on bass!
Exceptional. Lucky AF crowd!
My man Jason Falkner is backing Annie! Great gig and good on ya!
We are a long way from Marry Me
True, but every phase over the last 15 years has been unique and brilliant. I think what we're seeing now is the Annie that was fulminating beneath since day 1.
@@gradaloo it’s been longer than 15 years
That was awesome!!
Fiercly fierce!
Love this! Good job Annie!
XO COMO AMO TU SONIDO !! :)
Whoa whoa. I wasn’t looking at you, Annie!
Finally GOOD music. Reminds me of Old NIN. The good stuff.
This album tour has been my favorite of hers, everyone should see this one live.. insane visuals as always
I love this. What a performance. This song is top notch!
He IS the Queen of rock 'roll present times
come to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 🇧🇷
Super :) It is amazing what Annie can do in a pair of heels. I hope the microphone stand is ok too. Life can be cruel.
absolutely!! love heerrrrrr...
she's amazing.
Дуже круто.. дякую
The black hair.
The suit.
The talent. 😍
I want to believe she will have a long successful career vif that what she wants. ❤
Never disappoints. With this performance in mind, just think, it was six months ago that she sang "Oh Christmas Tree" at the White House Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. We are living in strange times; that was one of the few good/strange things.
I think this is the best live version of this song blistering hot
Watched this on Jimmy K and was pleasantly surprised.
She's a real artist
MAGNIFICENT!
Favorite song I've heard in a while.
