One of the most intelligent and hard-working crews in the industry! Maggie and Izzy, your team-work and desire to always IMPROVE is inspirational. Awesome video, such diligent craftsmanship! We are a better company because we know people like you.
Loved the sandpaper information. I'm retired/disabled/ injured from remodeling construction and still learned something. I work in my home shop now. I also love the cart and improvements you guys have made (what else would you expect from Izzy Swan). Keep doing what you do.
I'm always amazed, fascinated, and totally impressed with Izy's projects. He not only has a creative engineer's mind, his final builds look like a manufactured units. Even his simpler jigs are precision pieces. I would like to see a sand-off between, Surfprep, Cubitron, and Klingspor sand papers.
Love your videos. For the hose covers, if someone does NOT want to make their own, do a search for "central vacuum hose sock", these usually come 30 ft. long and are ready to use, should fit the hoses in the video fine. Cheers
Better jump on those 3" air sanders, they've clearanced them on their site. I just got one a week ago for doing small automotive stuff, what a fantastic little sander! Great video
Outstanding information and ideas. The boom arm seems like it has the potential to mount on other equipment - or maybe freestanding. Thanks for the video.
would love to c testing of different types of sand paper on the vacuum tester (ie like, AL oxide and ceramic and zinc and others like 3ms cubatron, mesh papers.) u could test how long the sand paper last, or/and how well it lasts(timed test 5min as an example) . u could use a micro scope to check damage/wear on the papers b4 and after test. and also u could use a tile or something as a torture test. thanks for the video
Recently Oneida came out with a low profile Dust Deputy for use with dust extractor. Have you tried one? The idea is to reduce dust reaching the vacuum bags and ultimately the HEPA filters.
Really want to like the SurfPrep sanders, but I hate paddle switches. In my work I end up holding the sanders in different orientations and never could get used to a paddle switch. If they made one with a side on/off switch I'd buy it immediately.
Great to see a video from you guys.... I was wondering about the Surf Prep pad/mat in front of your raking light.... Is it grippy to keep the wood material your sanding from moving around or is it a fuzzy soft surface? Thanks for the great video
i havent seen all the accompanying vids regarding the testing for sanding operations and papers, so i dont mean to be mis-speaking here, but in your considerations for best types of paper, was the 3m cubitron a part of the mix? i know its all the rage on youtube etc, but i think there's a reason for it.
11:19 --- nope - yt tested it multiple times (thanks to Jonathan Katz-Moses) --- 3M CUBITRON XTRACT is a "only" way to go , u have 775L , 710w and 310w (for now) and depending of your needs u can choose from those 3 and soon probably more with Cubitron 3 series "only" because u can get abrasives for specific aplication like foam backed discs etc and even something way different --- full steel disc with tungsten abrasive on top -- literally last lifetime - its like permagrit but for orbital sanders) PS i tested myself 3M Cubitron II abrasives for last almost 4 years and oh boy ---in average .... 2-3x faster with same tool power and last 8 up to 15x longer and now we have 3M Cubitron 3 (3rd gen. that is even better than cubitron II) belts for belt sander are perfection - crazy lifespan and grinding speeds
This really just comes across as a promotional advertisement for SurfPrep. You use their sanders, carts, dust extractor, and sandpaper. You even go as far as to brand the hose sock with their logo.
He did come right out and say that he has purchased some and they have given him some. And I agree it was a bit infomercial, but if this is how he does it day in and day out, then at least it's an honest infomercial.
Perhaps, but Izzy so rarely does sponsored content and has earned a trusting reputation, that when he says something is worth investing in, you know he's not saying it just because of the sponsorship, but because it's actually worth investing in.
I have to admit I love your testing machine that’s cool, but by the end of this video that board is going to be like glass man, I gotta know it gotta be like glass

Always great to see a Izzy video.

Super helpful as always.
Great to see you again Izzy
I need to win the lottery. That setup would be the first thing on the want list. Amazing job !
Awesome project as always, Izzy. Got flight attendant vibes off Maggie demoing that boom arm 😂 "Pull the sander firmly and air will begin to flow…"
The most creative mind on TH-cam returns.
Welcome back. Nice o meet your sons and see Maggie again. What a team! Already looking forward to the next video.
This is the kind of project I love! Great job to you both. Also, I love when I see people using Sketchup. Cheers 🤓

Looks like a promo for surf prep to me
The surf prep has been my dream sander since I started.
Whew! that was close...I almost bought the Fein, lol. Love the cart. Perfect for a small shop with commitment issues.
oh yeah, nice job Vanna! (or maybe Holly) referring to the game-show modeling skills of the boom function.
So your telling me that a company that focuses on a certain thing is better than one that is spread over multiples. Neat, thanks!
Izzy, nice video on sanding. Looks like the back is holding up well too.
Terry from Australia
Izzy video. CLICK!
Great solutions for a sanding station. Can't wait for more. - Chris

I wish I had just a small portion of your knowledge for doing products. As always a great video.
Outstanding information and ideas. The boom arm seems like it has the potential to mount on other equipment - or maybe freestanding. Thanks for the video.
Never thought i would hear izzy say he loves sleeves on lol
😂😂😂
Wow!!! This info is SO good!!! Amazing video!!!
That cart looks fantastic, what a smart idea. Love your videos
Such a cool testing jig!
Brilliant, as usual. Thank you for sharing. A great diy project, too… for, those with creativity and materials…
What an awesome gift to find in my feed this morning.....IZZY! Woohoo!
OG Izzy, thanks for the science.
Wow great set up !

Love the vacuum hold downs! Take my money
Can you go into detail on how to make that boom arm setup?
Missed you brother! Thanks for the info!! (Wish you would have tested the Makita dust extractor!) Blessings!!!
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing

Have you looked at the performance/value of 3M Xtract Cubitron sandpaper?
Yes, I am not fond of it for wood. Love it for metal. Leaves to much scratch for many of the fi dishes I like to use.
Vacuum clamps are a great idea!
Definitely!

Wish the bosch dust extractor was in there
Izzy and the boys.
that 3" sand looks like the "Noisy Cricket" of the sanding world.

...your multi-faceted approach to a sanding station is off the chain by the way!! 😊😊
You've come a long way from making a table saw out of a circular saw in your garage. It's always great stuff.
Great project.
Hey pal! Lookin' good!
What size compressor are you running with those pneumatic sanders?
What’s your thoughts on the 3M cubitron paper?
Love it, great video
Nicely Done.
Yayyyy!!! Izzy’s back!! Back again!!
You mentioned SketchUp for the modeling and I'd heard it wasn't a favorite for 3d print models, can you say which version you're using and maybe why?
Have you tried any of the Uneeda products?
I really need that!
Hey Izzy, What kind of vacuum pump are you running?
Cool cart Izzy! Do you sell them?

"only" because u can get abrasives for specific aplication like foam backed discs etc and even something way different --- full steel disc with tungsten abrasive on top -- literally last lifetime - its like permagrit but for orbital sanders)
PS
i tested myself 3M Cubitron II abrasives for last almost 4 years and oh boy ---in average .... 2-3x faster with same tool power and last 8 up to 15x longer
and now we have 3M Cubitron 3 (3rd gen. that is even better than cubitron II) belts for belt sander are perfection - crazy lifespan and grinding speeds
Very nice. I want one too lol
Where can you watch the original comparison video?
I never posted it
What about rigid vacuum?
Don't you need a larger compressor to use these sanders? I only have a 25gal compressor.
It's best to have a decent air compressor

People gotta feed their families too. So who cares if it comes off like that. If he is getting paid by them, that’s just business.

Hola hombre grande
Maggie is hot
Yes she is! 😊
