Watching this, the one thing that comes to mind is that most people who would be using (or developing for that matter) the open source MoCap system will not be wearing clothes optimized for the super expensive system. So, I don't think this is actually a fair comparison of the two.
I haven't familiarized myself with the open source MoCap systems, but surely there are recommendations for what kind of clothes and lighting would create the best results.
