My older brother and I would stay up and watch this as kids on CTV, we lived in a tiny town in central Canada, this brings back such good memories for me, my older brother letting me stay up on school nights and a small town kid dreaming about a big unknown world at that time, my brother ended up being a detective later on in real life, thanks so much for the upload!
Now this is TRULY AWESOME !! I have loved this song for more than two decades, and I deeply regret not having bought this great song back in the 1980's ! "Night Heat" was one of my favorite TV shows. Here in New York City, it used to be shown after the 11:00-PM news on CBS-TV. This is the first time that I have heard the full version of the "Night Heat" theme song. Thankyou Naceri abderrahmane for posting this !! Thankyou You/Tube !!
I’m here in NY too. Love this show. Used to watch on channel 2 at 11:30pm and had my Canada 🇨🇦 eh! (Shown on the cup) coffee cup ready at 11:30 for the show. This show inspired me to be a cop 👮🏼 a few years later. Now retired abs still love it.. I also watched Tropical Heat a few years later. Also ch. 2 at 11:30pm. Good show as well.

Thanks, man! 👍🏼 Been looking for this song for years too. Grew up as a teenager in the 80s with this fantastic tv series and this theme song is just awesome! Love it! So 80s. 🤩 Brings back wonderful memories of a great decade! Greetz from the Netherlands! 🙋🏽♂️
Brings back a lot of good memories. A more realistic portrayal of cops then you'll find in the majority of cop shows...past and present with the possible exception of the original "Law and Order." That series rocked too! I remember watching this series and picking out all the landmarks of Toronto, where this show was filmed. It was hard to do sometimes because the show always took place at night hence the title. Nevertheless, probably the most underrated cop show in television history.
Yes! Definitely Law& Order because that was the first show to deal with it from the cops & Prosecutors perspectives. They were both interwined with each other.
most of those landmarks are now gone--either torn down for condominiums or office buildings--the site of the precinct depicted in the show is now the HQ for the Canadian Blood Services
MY MOTHER MAY SHE REST IN PEACE LOVED THIS SHOW. SO DID I. WHEN I GOT OFF FROM WORK EARLY FROM WORKING THE NIGHT SHIFT, AS SOON AS I WALKED IN THE DOOR I WAS HEARING THE THEME. THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING IT. THAT WAS A GOOD SHOW.
CBS were a bunch of idiots-despite the fact that on many occasions Night Heat had higher ratings than Johnny Carson's Tonight Show during that era--they cancelled it because they want a talk show to go up against Carson-and they premiered the Pat Sajak show instead--that "tanked" big time
Thanks for putting this together!, brings back memories of the 80's, that was a really good show back in the day. I wish they would put this on dvd. I would mos def watch it.
I started WATCHING this show because of the theme! One of my fav shows ever!! It's not on DVD, makes me wish I recorded it when it was in syndication a couple years ago.
AWESOME!!!! I have wanted this for SO long its not funny! Used to stay up to watch the show on CBS late night back home in the States. Only found out that there had been a radio single of the theme song a few years ago! Thank you so much for sharing - excellent quality!!!!
One of the executive producers Sonny Grosso was a former NYC cop....turned TV producer. He brought a lot of realism to this show. CBS used it as a time filler during late night probably because it didn't have that Hollywood feel to it. I enjoyed watching this show.
Thx you so much for posting the full song!!! I absolutely loved this show, I remember watching it while I was in high school, staying up too late to do so! Brings back great memories!! Oh how I wish this series was available on DVD! Excellent job, thx again 4 posting!
CTV sold Night Heat to CBS who ran it late night--it became so popular that it actually had better ratings than Johnny Carson's "The Tonight Show"--however when they tried to move it to prime time the rating weren't as high
Night Heat is long overdue for a home video release of some sort, this show became a spiritual predecessor to other hit Canadian crime dramas like "Due South" and "Flashpoint", both became a hit in Canada and the U.S., and both aired on the same networks CTV and CBS.
Bring back the 80's ! I loved Night Heat and the Equalizer and if they put like a two parter where the first was on Night Heat and the second on The Equalizer or vise versa that would be real sizzling Night Heat!
This and the Equalizer were my two favorites in the 80's! I wish they could have had a two parter! One week on one show the next week ending on the other! Seeing them together would have been real Night Heat like 100 degrees at midnight, real steamy and exciting!
I remember this show! This and the Equalizer were my favorites! I wish they could have been combined! One week one show the next the other! That would have been real Night Heat 110 degrees at midnight!
LOL! I think I remember falling asleep to this theme song as a toddler with EVERY light in the house off! I remember the chorus like yesterday, but I don't ever remember watching this! My parents must've been into this show.
I'm super thankful to you for posting this but I was wondering if you could possibly post the lyrics for this because I just can't get the words to the second stanze at all. Thanks. :)
As great as this theme is, what keeps going through my head is the slower, saxophone lead version they'd play at the end of some episodes. Sweet, sad, hopeful, elegaic all at once.
The eighties was so hot! This was before reality shows and crap like that. This and the Equalizer were my favorites. I always wish to have them on the same show. One week he would be on Night Heat and the next they on The Equalizer!
I was a kid maybe 8 or 9 watching this show because my mom was watching this. Two things I had remembered about this show from my childhood was the curly haired cop (which as I adult I find out is Jeff Wincott, who played in martial art movies and with Cynthia Rothrock) and theme song (which is as good as Night Heat). I've been watching this show lately. Young Jeff Wincott is very cute.
To quote Jeff Spiccoli, "AWESOME! TOTALLY AWESOME!" Shit I miss this show and wish someone would bring it back to the U.S., FFS. Well done on doing the whole song, mate! It is very, very much appreciated. :)
From junior high till my senior high watched this show. Usually had to sneak cause I t came on in States like at 1:00. That song got me going everyday.

It's not just another night when it's Night Heat. More than seeing Toronto, where I lived a few times, Domenic Traiano let me try his first B.C. Rich guitar, with an on-board pre-amp, building my own lefties. He was at the Montrose Inn, Niagara Falls, a gig I played, with two drummers and two keyboard players, with the singer who did the current hit song.
