I started crying the other day when I thought about my age because I had absolutely no idea that I would live this long. Especially when I consider the life that I led, for 30 years. Like so many men of my generation, regardless, if they became wealthy or not, so many of them became either drug addicts or alcoholics. And all you have to do to know this is look around you. And also look at the leading musicians of my generation. The vast majority of them that are still alive, are no longer doing drugs or drinking… Because, they would be dead like so many, of our generation. And all anyone has to do to know this, is simply start doing some googling. Of well-known musicians from the baby boom generation, that are dead. So many of us not only sober up or cleaned up, and we became Christians because there’s nowhere else to go. No place else to go and thank God for that. Gawd almighty, Robert Palmer was an amazing singer and songwriter. And the sexiest Englishman since John Lennon, I swear. I bet he's up in heaven right now, breaking all the lady angel's hearts.
+Danny Clark Since it's all either fantasy or unprovable belief, people can basically assert whatever the heck they want about angels. If they want to clarify the point, there's nothing stopping them from coming on down and making a public service announcement
It has. I have his Addictions CDs and still play them. I also love his version of "Some guys have all the luck." MUCH better than Rod Stewart's, especially with the background chorus. He was a genius.
Will? Oh I think his music has stood the test of time. Here I am 40 years later still watching and drooling. Somehow I don't think what they call music will be remembered as well.
Amen bro, he left us way too young. The only issue I have with this video is so many simply irresistible women wearing those ugly ass, nasty smelling NYLONS, AKA "Grannyhose". The 70's called and want their fashion back. Thank GOD nylons went out of style in the early 80's and have NEVER made a return, outside of fetish fantasy. Real women don't wear those ugly, unfashionable things. #bare legs #bare feet

+Brad Cordrey Brother you need Jesus and don't do that meth anymore a it makes you hallucinate with evil thoughts such as yours are, seek the Word of God, spread Love just as God created Love, Amen. Strive to focus on God, for God is the antidote for those sinful thoughts which you need to overcome evil. Jesus cast out demons, though you somehow slipped by.
@Rios Salvajes That's right. He doesn't know. As a kid from the 80s, I ignored 70s and 60s music. Later I found out all the fantastic gems I missed. We didn't need to be looking back, like kids do today.
@Rios Salvajes How... how does that even work? Did I unsee hundreds of (way better than this) videos from the 80's when the music video was raised approaching a respected artform? Did I unsee opulent effects of Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer or Steam? Did I unsee the iconic scenes of Michael Jackson's Bad or Thriller? Did I unsee the provocative and artful imagery of Slave to the Rhythm by Grace Jones, the raw quirkiness of David Byrne's Once in a Lifetime or the playful animation of A-Ha's Take on Me? Did my eyes somehow shoot these excellent images out of my brain, back into the screens of computers and televisions four decades past?
Robert Palmer never had an enormous following, but he was highly respected both for the songs he sang, and the sincere, yet often understated way in which he sang them. One of my favourite musicians
80s MTV: nothing but music videos 90s MTV: still lots of music with a few shows like Beavis and butthead and jackass Early 2000s MTV: lot less music lot more shows Today MTV: no music whatsoever just a bunch of cheesy reality shows that aren't very good

Your in your 40’s. I’m in my 30’s but will be there soon. Difference is I grew up with alternative rock that became emo rock and now every version of music sounds like pop… I missed out
I love Robert Palmer's music and videos! I am now 69 and it's just like He just released these timeless classics! Simply Irresistable, Addicted to Love, and all his music...Timeless!
No music can replace now what he did mr cool,Real music. Not now just crac.
Gawd almighty, Robert Palmer was an amazing singer and songwriter. And the sexiest Englishman since John Lennon, I swear. I bet he's up in heaven right now, breaking all the lady angel's hearts.
+mightymissk I agree wholeheartedly!
+mightymissk You shouldn't swear such high bets on such things like that. God's angel's hearts can NOT be broken. Yes?
Yes, Robert Palmer was very smooth!
+mightymissk , he's so sexy
+Danny Clark Since it's all either fantasy or unprovable belief, people can basically assert whatever the heck they want about angels. If they want to clarify the point, there's nothing stopping them from coming on down and making a public service announcement
His music will pass the test of time with flying colors!
Truly Epic, brian
Saw him in concert and he looked impeccable. Such a class act.
He is gorgeous 😍
Hi I guess you must be gen x huge fan too?
Robert Palmer was the James Bond of Rock, RIP Mr Palmer.
BIG... DITTO ! VERY MUCH A MR.
COOL
This can never be topped. This era of music, the production, the song. legendary.
Robert Palmer R.I.P.
But your legendary voice will never die.
Dude. When it happens to you....
This song sums it up
Gentlemen. Please take hats off listenin' to The One of The Greatest Musicians of the 20th Century.......
Listen. because my eyes are not watching at Robert Palmer
one of the best videos ever.
@@tombstone1111 yes and then you turn 66 and have no choice. Grow up
Classic song by a classic artist, rip Robert Palmer. ❤😢
Robert Palmer is the James Bond of music ;-))
This song is Legendary! Robert Palmer is a G.O.A.T. !
kolby woodruff--What does that mean?
Greatest Of all time
"She's so fine,,,there's no tellin' where the money went..." I just love that line! Robert Palmer was so cool. My mom used to refer to the women as the patent leather lip girls. I miss his class.
Bars!! 🤣
The pepsi girls!
Speechless. 80's music image style peak. Audiovisual masterpiece.
No singer done it with as much class as this man,and style.
Grandma , what did you do when you were younger?
I STOOD behind Robert Palmer in a video with red lipstick on.
Bloody LEGEND . Grandma, Bloody Legend
@@radrook2153 Mac still looks Great
Yep, sonny, I was the butt shaking on the left....
so funny!
@@radrook2153 yeah most of us are hotter and more in shape than you
@@MNTayler That is not what I see. I see the opposite.
This is the greatest music video of all time.
No... Addicted to Love is the best of all time
I absolutely agree! As a young woman, I was highly intimidated and learned a lot from it!
I've never seen more beautiful women in my life. This video and Addicted to Love. Classics. Two of the best videos ever made.
"She's so FINE, there's no telling where the money went." What a great lyric, and what a soulful, rocking song!
That's my favorite line too.
Robert Palmer is a trip, all his stuff around this time was funny as hell. Powerstation was cool too.
Robert Palmer was like the James Bond of Rock & Roll. Cool, Handsome, British, a Sharp Dresser & Always surrounded by Beautiful Women.
+Brad Cordrey How naïve. You obviously don't pay much attention to news like the one from San Bernardino.
+KoolCat ! Yup and he was really English too!! ;)
+Number1Dougster Nope... just no... just stop it X(
+Brad Cordrey Brother you need Jesus and don't do that meth anymore a it makes you hallucinate with evil thoughts such as yours are, seek the Word of God, spread Love just as God created Love, Amen. Strive to focus on God, for God is the antidote for those sinful thoughts which you need to overcome evil. Jesus cast out demons, though you somehow slipped by.
+Brad Cordrey Then they have kids and you have to pay alimony!
Lot's of great memories this song brings back...RIP Robert Palmer!!!
Oh yea
All the absolute best are gone. Robert Palmer... cool moves 😎 ❤
This video is a 80's Masterpiece
It's a remake of addicted to love
Was every other music video in the 1980's footage of paint drying and grass growing in real time?
@Rios Salvajes I know what I didn't miss: about 500 videos from the 80's that could BURY the workmanlike, bland production of "Simply Irresistible".
Did my eyes somehow shoot these excellent images out of my brain, back into the screens of computers and televisions four decades past?
its 2022, and this song is still superb.
How in the hell could Robert Palmer sing like that yet be a heavy smoker. damn🤯
@@davisholman8149 ....brain washing.
Yes it is from strangers
My God this is soooo sexist by today's standards......
I Friggin ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ it!😎

Fun fact: it’s impossible to be as cool as Robert Palmer.
The Steve McQueen of rock.
You said it old son,if James Bond was a rock star,he’d be Robert Palmer.
Totally! why are canadian guys cool?
Why does he remind me of Ross Martin?
@@tedmulthauf7434 The James Bond of rock.
“The proof is irrefutable” - great lyrics make this❣️
Fantastic song! RIP Robert. We miss you.
Robert Palmer never had an enormous following, but he was highly respected both for the songs he sang, and the sincere, yet often understated way in which he sang them. One of my favourite musicians
Peter Metaxas love him alwyas
You sound like Patrick Bateman.
This video is an example of why the world needs both men and women.
I'll never tire of listening to this song.
Remembering Robert Palmer: Jan. 19, 1949 - Sept. 26, 2003. He's simply irresistible! We miss you.
I saw him perform in Ann Arbof, Mi - I miss him
He was so talented. I loved his early blues stuff too. And he was totally hot!
Lorelei Shannon - He sure was. And, bucked the trend, wearing those suits. Like ZZ Top said, "Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man"
he.died? how?! he can't be dead!
Natural causes. He had a massive heart attack. RIP
"She's so fine, there's no telling where the money went." Great line and hot video even after all these years. The song is simply irresistible!
Just want Robert Palmer back. Todays music doesnt stand up.
Yupp! He was the real deal, authentic to the core!
HES DEAD
@@chemicaljk1447 just like today's music
@@0786AHA oh yes
This music today is DEAD! Garbage. Sad. I don't know if it will ever change. Rap's heydays were the 1990's. Time to move on.
My favorite Robert Palmer song. That bass line rocks!
Sounds like Power Station.
ohhhhh...women...there’s no other being alive on the universe with so much beauty like a woman...from head to toes...they’re perfect

Robert Palmer and 13 gorgeous women. He was the James Bond of music!!
Before they turned James Bond into a Black Lesbian.
The good old days.
When MTV actually played music.
MTV played videos? 😱
80s MTV: nothing but music videos
90s MTV: still lots of music with a few shows like Beavis and butthead and jackass
Early 2000s MTV: lot less music lot more shows
Today MTV: no music whatsoever just a bunch of cheesy reality shows that aren't very good
@@funnybonesbucknewton7261 You summed it up just right.
I remember that too. Long time ago
MTV with little pixie Martha Quinn as the VJ
He just oozed class and his music was always brilliant. Still very much missed

Cool, sharp, debonair, creative, handsome, classy, amazing and one one of the sharpest dressing musicians ever! I truly enjoyed all of his performances! Robert Palmer had the best videos surrounded by beautiful women!! RIP Robert! You were truly a gentleman and a class act! 🙏🙏

Dang, what a classic! In my 70s now but I will never forget the 'magical' 80s. What a wonderful time it was. :) (An ex-hippie of the 60s & mid 70s.)
Ah, the good old days ....
You know it brother. And somehow, I survived. Hey, I was at Woodstock, lol, now just a burned out old hippie, lol. (Now into Italo-Disco, Hi- Energy) and still rocking my old ass off. Sometimes, even w/ awoman! LOL Rock on!
Me too! and then I wake up. Dang.
Hippie's don't die they multiply!
Sumbitches smell like patchouli, though. Sort of like mothballs
What a gent. Gone far too soon. It's 2021 and I still miss Robert Palmer.
