I have pre diabetes. My Dr told me to eat more veggies and watch my carbs & sugars. But how do I know I'm doing ok? I have been making better choices, but how do I know my choices are actually affecting me positively?

Can you share the brand name of the protein powder you add to your oatmeal? My mother has tried using a Boost with protein as a milk to add to oatmeal, but she wasn’t adding enough to it. Some of the protein powders have different goals - body-building and keto diets, so we are very confused about what to pick.

LET ME ASK A QUESTION ABOUT SUGAR,,, WHAT IS DIABETES FRIENDLY WHEN IT COME TO SUGAR
I USE SPLENDA AND I JUST STARTED AGAVE,, IS THAT GOOD

Look at the calories - if it’s zero, it’s diabetic friendly. Eating a lot of sugar substitutes can cause problems (gas, cramps and the runs), so use it sparingly.

Question! I'm pre-diabetic, my blood sugar was 95 in the morning and I thought "That's not right", so I tested it again and it said 130, then checked it again to make sure, it said 110.. what should I do?
I love the video by the way!

Hi! I’ve been diagnosed with type 2 this past April and I’ve been through that. In my case, I had set the wring calc code in my glucometer so it gave wrong numbers. Also, a fasting morning blood sugar of 100 and under is ideal. Any higher could mean carb snacking the night before, inadequate exercise, etc. Many diabetics and non diabetics experience The Dawn Phenomenon which is when our liver produces more glucose( sugar) between 3am-8am. In any case, please check with your medical care team. Hope this helps.

Tip: how to save money with Freestyle Libre 3 sensors when you don’t have insurance that covers them.
Get a Costco membership and use their Pharmacy.
Costco quotes prices at their full retail price if you look online or call them to check prices. That price (for two sensors) runs $118.00 or higher.
Costco has a full retail price for non Costco members, and a discounted price for members.
Once I showed my Costco membership card to the pharmacy clerk, the price for my two freestyle Libre 3 sensors dropped from $118.00 to $61.59 (for both sensors).

Over the last few years, I’ve discovered the joy that is a cheeseburger without fries. I’m not diabetic, but I think that is a pretty good approach to eating generally and getting satisfaction if you don’t want to go too crazy. Lol

My aunt showed me that if I use the side of my finger instead of the pad, it doesn't hurt and truthfully it doesn't hurt nearly as much as when a nurse fingersticks me on the tip of my finger. only then does it really hurt. But try the side of your finger instead, works a treat.

I love the One Drop meter and app. It's slim, super accurate, and the test strips are very affordable.
