Thanks Brian. I really enjoyed house hunting when we first arrived in Portugal. Even though we already found our farm, I still love walking around and checking out other properties for sale :)
Ken, you are EXCELLENT🌟 at your property presentations. We have seen a few of your house/farm tours and you provide great important details. Your images and descriptions, in the video and in writing, are the best. THANK YOU for the proficient service you provide.
Thanks Ken. Although, you are so nice and polite when inspecting and evaluating properties. you turned to be expert. You can sense the South African’s touch on the property. It’s very nice and cozy. Lastly, I kind of agree with the opinion of the price of being high. My humble advise to the owner to lower it down if he’s seriously selling. Regards
While the property is beautiful...I couldn't help imagining my sister and her adult kids, my brother in law and his adult kids and our adult kids wanting to visit continuously. Hmmmmm....not the retirement I imagined (inn keeper) hehehehehe. Again so lovely. Thanks for sharing this with us.
What a great looking home. Just found your channel. This type of home discovery tours sounds like a great business if the networking is done right. I'll have to binge a bit this evening. I briefly saw you were not feeling well. I hope you're doing better.
What a beautiful Serra da Estrela house, for sure you went past my little country town to go there: Cortiçô da Serra, 5 km past Celorico da Beira 😊 Gorgeous property Ken, and you present it really well 👍
Lovely property with a lot of potential. Outside space is amazing. Definitely room for a pool. A jacuzzi where the cars are parked.. that river is gorgeous. Oh I could go on and on. Thanks for sharing.
Stunning property and exactly what we will be looking for once we can get to Portugal. Working on our D7 now, so hopefully "soon"! Thanks for the video, you do great work.
Excellent rural properties for sale in the municipality of Ferreira do Zezere, milder winters than this (Guarda) area and only 1H30 drive to Lisbon & airport, 20 minutes drive to Tomar with all the big supermarkets, including Lidl. The small town also has a good share of big supermarkets, weekly market, restaurants, banks, pharmacies, etc. Prices still low as Ferreira do Zezere is not very well known... or talked about on TH-cam... just yet. Pick a ruin for next to nothing if you like the land, rebuild / build new for around 500 Euros per square meter, with all the mod cons you desire. With ruins, you usually are not restricted to rebuilding in exact same spot, but can build new, anywhere on the plot of land. Old ruins by the side of roads can be attached to good plots, with more options. (I know this stuff because I'm a native.) Good luck!
Nice property over all, but I think the price might be a bit ambitious for the area. Ken great jobs as always. Have you considered doing a simple floor plan for properties like this that don't have conventional layouts.
Beautiful house , love the kitchen, living area and all the shower/bath rooms , the bedrooms let it down though, as in odd shapes, curtains for wardrobe doors, bedrooms would have to be remodelled.
A lot of them have quirky shapes, for some its character but I’m the same as you! I don’t like weird and wonderful shapes. I have just been looking at farm land.
I was just in Guarda on the 14-15th of June. Nice little town. Very historical. This property is amazing. I would love living there. I don't believe you mentioned how far it is from city center. I can ask the realtor I suppose. Thanks. Nice video.
@@DIYtalk I have an apartment lease that ends at the end of this calendar year. I may relocate to another city for a while, or I may buy something. I'm looking.Always looking. Hardest thing is that I am uncertain what I want, City life? or Country life? lol...

Hi Ken nice property lots of potential but are there power lines going over the house if so it would be a negative for me not good living under power lines even if they don’t buzz.
Ive watched a lot of these videos from all over Portugal and the one thing that sticks out is, the grass is always dead. Whats up with that? Is it a very rain depleted country? Is there a struggle for water in this country? On average, do the wells and streams run dry in summer? ( I know its hard to say for each property, thats not really what Im looking to have answered... Im just wondering if this is kind of like the California water situation. Ive watched different videos over multiple years, from all over Portugal and its more often than not, always dead grass.... Does it only rain at certain times of the year? Is it basically like semi-California weather? As a Canadian farmer looking to buy land there, its hard not to notice this and wonder whats going on.
This year we had record breaking summer temperatures and most of portugal was in severe drought. Fortunately we have had a lot of autumn rain and it's greening up again everywhere
As much as I would love to live in Portugal I can't in good conscious add to the water scarcity problems and take from the citizens. Potugal is on the list of 44 countries that are going to be severely affected by a lack of water in the near future. Recent videos do show the lake levels down already.
