Beautiful install on both methods! Those jigs are worth their weight in gold when you have a bunch of these to do!

Its restarted that there is a building code that requires a sign to tell someone a door is locked. Great job on the video. Thank you for taking the time to make it.

I’m a young locksmith and I found this video to make sure I could do it myself before quoting to a customer. Super short and to-the-point video, thanks for not wasting time with a lot of talking!! After seeing it done I know I can do it myself, thanks so much!

Thanks for the video. Question: are you able to add a deadbolt on an aluminum storefront door like this that currently has a keyed lock lever exterior, panic bar interior and an electronic strike latch connected to a wireless key fob
/ card key access? There are no vertical rods that’ would get in the way of the deadbolt...I’ve just never attempted to retro fit some deadbolts(keyed cylinder style) like what I’m describing before. Any one know about this?
    Thanks again

I know its late for when you posted the video, but what kind of router bit is that? I haven't seen to many router bits for Aluminum. Am I just not looking in the right places? Do you have any links for such bits? This would be SUPER helpful. I am in Hospitality and we install interfaced panic bars that often require a lot of weird cuts that look very achievable with a router.
    Thanks for the help.

I've been tempted to buy one of those jigs for storefront doors. But it's a pretty penny lol

I know this video is pretty old, but would you know why an indicator would show the opposite of what the lock is doing? I was on a job with a locksmith who wanted to put the indicator device on the door. But I found out that it didn't work the way it was supposed to. So I was thinking the lock was put on wrong or it may have been something else wrong. I don't know, maybe you ran into this situation.

Usually when one of the the plastic clips has broken the indicator will fall down and read closed when open… then when you lock it… it will pick it up on the top clip/shelf and show open when locked. Happens all the time…usually the bottom shelf will break from the mortise no longer being screwed in and being held by the locks or the indicator… or I suppose they could turn it too far consistently and eventually break it… he put a nice one on but typically they are very cheap and the plastic will break with just a few pounds of pressure… so yeah one of the two plastic lift shelves snapped off.

Mine is “upside” down as well . In your video the lock indicator shows locked when in the down position, but the indicator I have shows open in the down position . Thinking I just had the wrong indicator?

someone needs to make a 20$ quick jig for just this device. Not that 600$ major monstrosity.
