- UN Secretary-General António Guterres addresses the plenary session of the High-Level Conference "Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza" in Amman, Jordan.
A comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza linked to the release of all remaining hostages cannot come too soon, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said on Tuesday, as he welcomed the Security Council resolution adopted a day earlier seeking an end to the war there.
Speaking in Jordan at an international conference prompted by the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza, Mr. Guterres insisted that after more than eight months of intense hostilities, “the horror must stop”.
“I welcome the peace initiative recently outlined by President Biden and urge all parties to seize this opportunity and come to an agreement,” the UN chief said. “And I call on all parties to respect their obligations under international humanitarian law. This includes facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid both into and inside Gaza, as they have committed. All available routes into Gaza must be operational - and the land routes are absolutely crucial.”
On Monday, the United States-drafted text urged Hamas to accept a ceasefire proposal announced on 31 May by President Joe Biden that has already been accepted by Israel, according to the White House.
The text urges both parties to fully implement the terms of the proposal “without delay and without condition”. It was adopted by a large majority with 14 votes in favour and Russia abstaining - choosing not to exercise its veto power.

Mr. Secretary-General Guterres, Thank you for all that you have been doing on the behalf of the Palestinian people. If living in safety and security beside one another is the honest goal of all in this land. The leaders must work side by side together first and foremost. Having Capitals in close proximity to one another would benefit the communication, meetings and decisions of both states for the benefit of the People, their citizens as equals. To this I say, Amen and Amen.
I sit here waiting for a Ceasefire Decision, prayerfully, great trembling within me, as a people, the precious little ones of Gaza are dependent on what is decided by others, who are not in the same peril as them.
It breaks my heart, crushes my spirit, and makes me forget or reluctant to take my bread. Yet nothing could compare to the suffering of the little ones of His. May God rescue them by moving those making decisions for their lives, health, safety and well being, to make right and just decisions to Save the Children of Gaza whom this Grandma has come to see as her own. Under her protection, her prayers and supplications made to God all day long without ceasing. With the Power of the Holy Spirit with me, as I am a child of God, His servant who serves only the Great I AM.
May God be with us and may He have mercy on our souls. May the healing for the little ones of Gaza begin quickly, the terror, the loss of parents, siblings, friends and family end.

UN officials repeatedly expressed their concerns and frustration about massacre and genocide carried out on Palestinians by Israeli security forces and civilian authorities. All UN resolutions and the court orders were trashed by the criminal forces in Israel. Even the greatest number of United Nation's employees was brutal killed by Israeli military operations. All cries for saving lives are ignored. The international system has been broken. There's no rules and regulations that can be enforced on the Israeli government. So far, no one has resigned from United Nation's officials. The United Nations should have been closed until the Israeli government abides to the Geneva convention and respects the rules of the international court orders. Wasting time on meetings and on multiple resolutions will not fix the broken international system.
