I love this channel. I could listen to Gary all day. I grew up with Ron Turner’s art; he used to draw for 2000AD and is perhaps most famous for drawing the space detective series Rick Random.
Glad you like my videos, welcome aboard. At the time printing full color card stock covers was so expensive, but i came up with the idea of using dust jackets. Each DJ was hand formed and trimmed by me for each book. Lotta work, but they did turn out great so it was worth it. All best to you.
Gary, a wonderful project you got yourself involved in-a genuine labor of love! You should feel proud of your contribution, quite impressive. I had the good fortune to meet Jack Williamson in San Antonio in 1997. By the way, nice (first?) editions of the “The Great Gatsby” and especially that sumptuous Dell edition of Goodis’ exceptional “Dark Passage” (!)
Michael, thanks forsy your comments, Jack was a great guy, i only knew him through our letters and email. Wish i could have met him. My wife, Lucille did the Gatsby and Goodis covers.
@@garylovisi357 Oh yes, I recall a video of Lucille detailing her methods a couple years back-fine work indeed! In their latter years, Frederick Pohl and Jack always seemed to buddy up together at conventions. Fred was a great guy too, who I met at the same venue, sitting together with Jack.
Hey Gary I have not watched this video yet but it is cued up. I have a suggestion for a future episode you maybe interested in. As you may know the unique director Ed Wood JR after his film career started to write sleasey books to make a living. So I was wondering if you have any in your collection and what other names he wrote under ? Thank you, your Canadian fan
They look so good

Thanks and i am glad you like my videos. Ron Turner was an amazing artist. He did all the SF covers for my Gryphon Books. All best to you!
Hi Gary. Just discovered your channel, and I’m already addicted. This series looks amazing. Love what you did with those dust jackets.

Hi, Andrew, hope you enjoy the video. Unfortunately i do nit collect Ed Wood paperbacks or have any. Most originals are prohibitively expensive.
