I own the exact same car, you mentioned you were in go kart mode but you were only in core mode which is the default mode for driving - you will also hear the acoustic electronic noise whilst accelerating.
If you look at the centre screen, the colour is turquoise when using core mode. When in go kart mode, it reverts to black and red and the graphics are different, the steering changes and is more weighted, sharper, and the power is increased again.
You'll really notice a difference in the actual go kart mode over core mode, although the two are slightly similar, go kart is another experience.

@Northener1973 I agree, it's a very capable car, extremely fast too. The Cooper JCW SE has the bigger battery over the normal Cooper Electric. The official 0-62 is 5.9s
In go kart mode, it changes the variable dynamics. It's a great car, although it's too expensive to buy for what you get.
The mini app is good to control the car from your phone, such as turning heating on, tracking, etc.
Range is good too, lasts the longest in green mode.
Brakes are very sharp, and the chassis has a good feel to it.

I've driven a couple of BMW Minis (petrol) in my time. Not mine, either the ex's or loan car when my BMW's had a service. They are just like go-karts. Looks like they've done a decent enough job with EV version.

@@andrewharland7727 Two very different cars Andrew. I’ve always liked minis and owned quite a few of them including the first electric version and John cooper works models, so I will always have a soft spot for them. Minis are great cars for going out on country roads and having some fun as they stick to the road like glue. The Tesla I own currently gives you everything you need in a car. Speed, reliability, handling space, good range and tech which is constantly coming at you with software updates. I would definitely have them both in my collection for the reasons I’ve explained 👍
