Used one for over 6 years now, and it is a great sounding amp, with much richer and fuller sound in use than how it appears here. If you are listening on a cell-phone, tablet, or laptop, I advise connecting to a hi-fi to get a better idea. The features are well covered in the video. It will suit any acoustic instrument very well, and if you need to play an electric guitar through it, connect via effects pedals, I use a Line 6 Pod xtLive connected via the effects loop at the back which also has its own volume control, and it will give you great tone for that too. Vocals, using a Shure SM58 mic can produce very satisfying tone. Worth every penny.
@@willbrownmusic - Any electronic instrument - yes; an acoustic piano will need to be miked, and the mike cable connected to one of the amp chammels or via a set of pedals.
I have one like this! For sure I do not use more than 10 percent of it’s capabilities, but I love the sound! It is so damn good for live gigs! Thanks Marshall!
just bought a used version of this amp and so far it sounds great! i play a taylor 414 through it and it sounds really nice. my only gripe is the handle. in proportion to the weight of the amp, it doesn't feel strong.. but just my opinion. otherwise, looking forward to playing through this amp more.
I agree about the handle, mine is badly frayed now, and I am careful with my my gear. Non of the replacements I've sourced so far look any better, being made of some fake leather composite. It really lets down a quality product.
Just about anything gives great steel string sound with a little tweaking. I have a piezo pickup on my Les Paul and Strat that sounds better than my Martin. What I have real trouble with is getting decent volume on my Nylon String with a pickup without effects. Think Willie Nelson/Jerry Reed.
I keep hearing that this amp will accomodate other acoustic instruments but no proof, ie Voilin? Archtop? etc? surely they are missing out on a lot of sales here?
Is there a big difference between this one and the As50d? Not sure which one to get. Will use it for a medium sized outdoor gig, maybee 100 people drinking and talking, which one would you recommend?
The AS100D has more input channels, 50watts more power (if you need it) & costs ca. 250€ more. I bought the AS100d because I perform with 2 acoustic guitars, a 6 string & a 12 string, a microphone & I have an Alesis drum computer which I can run through the aux. channel if I wish. All of the main channels have independant volume & tone controls & the aux volume. I am very happy with the AS100D amp. Unfortunately, yet, there are no videos on my youtube channel of me using it. This I must rectify.

these are amazing amps but its a good job I heard one n real life ..the sound on this video is horrible, scratchy and harsh..not a good reflection of the amp at all. best value acoustic amp going I reckon..buy one!
I agree....what a horrible representation.... but hey... get a guy with tats and a nose ring and that is the image they want. Who cares about sound. It's all about the look!!!
La verdad que muy mal vendido el amplificador, tendrian que haberlo probado tambien con una voz, mostrar mejor los controles no tanto las manos del guitarrista, el que hizo el video no sabe de ventas.
Does anyone want to donate one to my fiancée and I? 🙃This would be too perfect for us! One vocal, one guitar, and one fiddle/cello. We just started doing gigs, in fact we have our first ever one tomorrow at our town’s Farmer’s Market! Obviously, I don’t think anyone’s actually donating one, I’m just having fun, We’re just dirt poor at the moment. Peace.

If we judge the amp based on the sound we here right now (Listening from good studio monitors connected to PC that has good quality sound that is enough to satisfy a audiophil), it is worst that 15 watt cheap ass Chinese Alibaba amp, sounds like its played on a metal olive oil tin. Use best possible mic to record the sound, also use a goddamn nylon string electric guitar (Godin etc. very high end guitar), also connect guitar to amp and amp to sound card and/or to PC also and give us the sound so we can properly judge it. Because of its name is acoustic amp, does it have to be laid with only goddamn still string acoustic guitar?!? How it sounds on Godin Multi Act etc. Nylon string electro (Nylon Acoustic) guitar, violin, cello, Ud, Turkish Baglama/Saz etc. ?!? MArhall is the most know amp brand but look at the goddamn test they do with one of the most expensive amps in the market!

Had mine since 2007 and still today in 2023 the sound has only got warmer and better.
This is an outstanding amp for small to medium size gigs! Great run down.
The double speakers give it such a lush stereo sound

can you plug a stage piano/keyboard in it?

It's so clean sounding. Brilliant.
Just bought one to add to my collection of Marshall amps, it's my first acoustic amp...can't wait to get it!
I have one like this! For sure I do not use more than 10 percent of it’s capabilities, but I love the sound! It is so damn good for live gigs! Thanks Marshall!
I bought one two years ago. Great piece of engineering!
*****
Small acoustic venues ie., auditoriums and so forth.
That Amp has great voicing and effects!
Seems to be now discontinued in 2021. I am going with the Boss Acoustic singer pro instead. The 50 watt Marshall AS will be a little light
I own one of these. Awesome amp! Would definitely recommend it!
I played a tanglewood discovery through one of these at macaris in Denmark street. I ended up buying the guitar because it sounded so good.

Yea trigger has an unbelievable sound!
This amp can do it all. I wouldn't even need any effects pedals.
I believe that amp is actually great for acoustics some amps sound like plastic instead of wood
I keep hearing that this amp will accomodate other acoustic instruments but no proof, ie Voilin? Archtop? etc? surely they are missing out on a lot of sales here?
It have a great sound for voice and guitar!!! But i did something and My ch2 is nota working... You know how to factory reset?
Really should put the reverb on its own system. A lot of players want to run reverb for the room and drop effects in and out.
very informative. thank you very much. i got one.
how much
Great video
I like the look of this. How would it work with an electric - ie a strat?
It works good to an extent.. it isnt really an acoustic simulator but it gives more warm tones and works more with the body of the guitar
what about using the ditto looper. Is it needed?
Can I tap the delay time at this amp?
Can you plug a keyboard in this?
Yes
Just got a used one today and it sounds like its distortion is on all the time I think I got a bad one returning it tomorrow
If you haven’t already: put a fresh battery in your guitar preamp!
Make sure the gain switch is off

Hi, does anyone know the type (brand) of the guitar he uses in this demo?
I've found it myself: it's a Lag Tramonane guitar, might anyone interested in this info...
Can it work that good with an amplified classic guitar (nylon strings) ?
The twangy steel strings and chords do not really show the acoustic qualities of any amp nor pickup.
Lucas, stay away from this drink holder disguised as an acoustic guitar amp! It sounds horrible with my Cordoba's and Flamenco guitars...

Are some acoustic amps tube?
👍
It's an acoustic amp dude. "Marshall tone" doesn't apply here.

Anyone who owns one knows it's a heavy bitch
I agree, so much so that I fitted spring loaded handles on the sides. Now easier to carry either alone or even easier with 2 people.
It has two speakers. That's why it's heavier and sounds better than other brands of amps.

Fishman Loudbox Performer
I have both... Marshall AS100D blows it away.
Yup, this amp beats the Fishman for tone and is plenty loud. Been using one for many years.
