I was blown away at the pure quality of the sound which helped to transform my vocal range whilst playing, couldn't put it down. My 12 string was really brought to life in a modest way. Obviously such talent as Gordon's is off the scale but goes to show what you can achieve through years of dedication.

Nicely played Gordon and a great demo. I note that you dropped the action, I bought a Vintage Viator but the action was way to high maybe they didn't take enough of the bridge to compensate for the pickup wire. I took off 4mm of the bridge saddle and now it's great got a nice 2mm at the 12th. Just a note to help anyone with the same problem - cheers.

I am thinking of buying this to use it as an electric guitar amp. I would use it with a tech 21 Blonde, the amp simulator, and some distortion pedals. Would this work? Thanks
I have a question if someone could help me out. What is the method for connecting one guitar to play through these two amps? I realize these amps are mic'd in this demo. But still, short of using microphones, how is Gordon doing this? What devices are being used? And what are some other options? Thanks.
Pretty sure you could run the input to one amp and then the output of that same amp into the input of the other. The AS50D does have line out options on the back.
I certainly enjoyed the music, but I have a thousand unanswered questions about the amp itself and how this guitar and equipment were applied. So was it helpful in deciding to buy Marshall over Fishman, Acoustic, Baggs and Fender. Sadly,...NO

The build quality is none too impressive and I have a fault on it. When it's been on for a short while the volume fluctuates. You sound like you know a bit about amps. Dexterity terrible. I've owned my as50d for 10 years now. An amazing amps. Run anything more than a hollow body electric and you'll not get nice sound. Alot more feedback. Put grainy destortion on and it you can hurt the celestion speaker. This guy is a master. He knows his pedals, setups, and levels. He won't hurt the amp. But these have delecate tweeters and speaker designed for acoustics.
Appreciate this is two years ago but... this is two channel amp with two speakers designed for acoustic gigging. The amp has 50watts and is much more portable than say a Marshall DSL40 (watt) combo for an electric solid body guitar. It has enough power for pubs, halls up to a small theatre without any additional PA - plenty of volume and a reasonable EQ (one for each channel so you can set up differently for mike and guitar). As to your question, no its not suitable for a solid body electric guitar because harmonically (and technically) its set up for a hollow body running an LR Baggs / Fishman type pickup / output. It works really well with my J45/Baggs for example. If you want a cheap alternative for this I would go with a bass amp (which tend to be cheaper) - Jimi played through a bass amp at times. What you can do with it though (being careful) is pre-amp the guitar a little with a decent pedal / low values. I have run an Ibanez Tube Screamer from the J45 to the AS50D with no problems - no drive / distortion obviously, if you use the level / tone control only you can warm up and boost the acoustic tone gently - it works best on finger picking (for my son) bringing out the notes more but we turn it off for heavy strumming as the guitar does enough on its own for this.
The sound is amazing because there is a mic in front of the amp so the sound that we are hearing is not the sound of the Marshall AS50D itself and why can't you include the sound of the vocal from the amp in your demo? :(
Agreed. Besides, I saw Gordon live a few weeks back and he doesn't use an instrument amp at all! He plugs his effects straight into the PA. It sounded, well, just like this :-)
