Love the channel. You should do a video on how to use graphs to find offshore fish. Everything I find online is geared towards boats, and only fishing shallow is tough in the summer.

That Yamamoto shad shape worm is my go to drop shot bait for mcclure. One of my home lake where catching 50+ day is common. Hardest part is thinning through all the dinks to catch bigger fish. Good luck on the tourney can’t wait to see it.

That water clarity reminds me of Michigan waters, I find super finesse works good for numbers but power baits moving fast seems to trigger the bigger bites. Great video and tight lines

Boaters always bring back the big fish to the ramp to take pictures and release them there. Trick I learned watching Travis from LTB along time ago. Looked like a cool lake to fish.
Or try Bagby. The road is really steep and windy to get to the bottom. Approach from the Mariposa side since the approach from the North may have a damaged road.There are some sheer/steep rock walls. The river comes in at that point. Camping down there too. I would like to see you pull an 8 pounder out of McClure. I've never caught a big one there.

Greg, I fished that lake for many years growing up. Here's a little tip for you, fish there hit really soft and you will bearly feel or see it hit unless you use green colored line. Goodluck on the tournament.

I had good luck on that lake with stand up shakey heads and floating tail worms. Wish I could get up north more often. I live in LA and I fish Castaic a lot but its been crazy busy there.

@@GregBlanchardFishing I think most of California was better to fish 20 years ago lol. There's still a lot of trophy bass in Castaic. I caught a 12lb 4oz bass there. But I haven't heard of 20 lb bass in there for a long time. It's not clear lake but it's one of the best in socal.

What do you guys think is making the fishing so rough? The season maybe? I bank fished there once and completely skunked but that was a ways back. I've also heard of quite a few double digits coming out of there which is pretty rad
Im a local too. Lets put it this way, lakes too big n too deep compaired to the fish ratio, you'll still catch em but you're better off on a boat or yak. And beside that if you are bank fishing you have to beat the older locals who sit n bait with crawdads and minnows.

Motherload lakes. They are all within 2 and a half hours of each other.
Central California man, we have the delta that has multiple marinas all around it, all the lakes in the Sonora mountains and near them, you can go north of the bay to berryesa or clear lake. Even drive a few hours north to Shasta. We’re blessed. A ton to choose from.
Depends but 1-3 hours, after 3 hours im not really interested in making that day trip

Nice video Greg, question, is something wrong with your rudder? I saw at the end of the video there you were holding it to the right during your run... also, how do you combat water in the hull? I’ve been taking on a lot of water my last couple trips.??
Thanks Andrew! For whatever reason the handle/rudder wants to go left when I use the torqeedo on runs so i have to hold it to the right a bit to keep it in line. I'd be willing to bet water is coming throughout your rudder cable exit points in the back of the kayak where it comes through the disc but probably water jumping up through the rudder hole/shaft itself. try changing out the gasket for the rudder and see if that makes a difference, i bet thats it.
Thanks, I’ll give it a try. I’ve also covered the disc housing with plastic and duct taped it to see if it is in fact coming up through the rudder hole. I’m not sure the amount of water I had in the hull could’ve come in through the cable outlets... I’m also going to try using all scupper plugs, see if I can keep the deck dry at all.
Do you use a leader on your spinning set-up since you are using yellow line?
He uses 8 # leader he mentioned it. Also usually uses the p-line tac flouro

There’s one part of the lake that’s super crystal clear. U can see all the schools of fish like if they were in a fish tank.

Question. When a mark appears on the fish finder, where are they relatively in comparison with the graph to water? 10 feet in front? Straight underneath? I noticed your not casting to far for drop shot when you chasing the fish on your screen. Thank you 🙏
where I have my transducer, about 1. foot behind me, I've found they are directly below me when they first show up on the graph

Lots of giant crappie in there. Make sure you dont hook up too much of them while drop shoting

It might be a dumb question but what does he mean when he says “that’s a good kayak fish”? Is he saying that because he’s literally fishing out of a kayak or is some kind of description of the fish?

What he is referring to is most kayak tournaments go by length not weight, so he meant that fish being very long and skinny is a great kayak tournament fish. Hope this clarifies it for you. Tight lines
Throw that Swaver 168 on points at McClure. They chew that bait pretty good.

Show us your graph more often. Find them biguns off the points in that fifteen foot range. Big dropshot bait will cause a reaction of bigger bites.
