A friend had a 7 yr old stud Arabian named Mischief. and a 13 year old huge quarter horse mare named misty. She had just gotten mischief gelded when misty went into heat. So they weren't worried about an unwanted foal. Every time I was at their place, I'd tell them she's got to be pregnant. She looks like a pregnant mule. They'd say no, she's not. The vet said so. Early one morning my friend comes to my house and tells me to hurry there's something I have to see. Misty foaled. It was a colt. They named him Mischief's last Chance. Chance for short. 😁 it was an awesome I told you so moment.
Mischief definitely lived up to his name.

Usually I am not fond of horse people, but the many folks at Horse Plus are all of what I hoped others would be: compassionate and caring, focused on horses' welfare, and joyful in their task.
fly spray and masks would help with the flys around the eyes. I used both and bag Baum in California.

SUPER nice episode! It's a privilege to get little glimpses into what it's like to work there, as well as all the animals being helped. I was especially glad to see so many adopters who seem really capable and well suited to horse care coming in. Horses are expensive, even in the best of circumstances---so Blessings to All and good luck! (Kory, hot sauce is evil ~ lol!)

I know it sounds crazy, but what we used to do for eye covering was use a pointy bra cup, them cut out the other cup so they could see..it could " breathe " but it was covered. It worked well. We put the straps over the ears, and just hooked it underneath.
Laughed so hard my dogs got worried about me. Talk about creative re-use! If I had a horse, I'd be trying that out on it right now...oh! That's why the dogs were worried!

I love these beautiful horses, kittens, people, and now puppies. I have been looking for a lab puppy as an emotional service animal. If only I could adopt a girl puppy. Congratz Casey. Way to go. I love doc, but so happy you have other vets so as to not strain doc. LOL. Keep up the awsome work for everyone and GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE.
I say it every time but I just have to say it again, Lydia, your vet tech, is just incredible, she blows me away with her knowledge and empathy, what an amazing human being. She fits perfectly with the rest of you wonderful human beings, what an incredible organisation you are. Love you guys so much!
Dr. Lydia is an experienced Vet, with a special interest in Horses; it was Casey who earned her Vet tech qualification - presumably the same as Gemma has. They add a lot to the to the whole professionlism of Horse Plus - as do all the behind the scenes people we got to meet in this video.

That is a perfect explanation by the vet! She seems very professional and kind. I feel so bad for Stormy and have dealt with getting adhesions surgically removed for myself (appendix was stuck to my abdominal wall and ovaries too- it’s very painful) I am glad she knew kindness and love prior to passing and didn’t have to go on a long ride to slaughter.
Sad to hear about Stormy but at least her passing was peaceful without pain

Adopting out a 36 year old pony with a cart because it was trained to drive? The pony is 36 years old, I REALLY hope they won't use Fluffy for driving OR riding anymore, geez. I've seen several American rescue videos and I'm shocked about the state of so many horses. The way they're being auctioned of, skinny, sick, too young, etc. This would never happen here, it's simply not allowed. I can't help it getting angry because so often people of the US point their fingers at other countries how they treat their animals but in the mean times I can find hundreds and hundreds of American videos, especially of abused horses and dogs. Shocking. Said that, I hope all the horses will have a great future from now on.
So sorry for the loss of Stormy. HPHS did everything possible. Great accomplishment on becoming a vet tech Casey! 🎊🎈🎉. Like the new veterinarian, she's very informative on information. Love the adoption of all the horses. The husband really keeps his wife very happy 😁. HPHS is a wonderful place to find a horse to adopt, surrender and rescue from kill lots & ship pens. Thank you for all your work with the horses 🙂.
When food is too spicy, don't drink water. Milk will take care of the burning sensation.
Do you guys ever give the horses cider vinegar in their water to keep biting fly’s away. Instead of using a lot of Chemical fly sprays ?? We use the cider vinegar because it makes them sweat a cleaner smell. Thanks for your time and helping these horses. 🙏❤️
You rehomed a 36 Yr old with a cart to a family of 3 kids that will rag that horse until shes dead??????? Are you really sure you understand equines?? That pony needed retirement and love for her last years not dragging a cart round with that family aboard!!!
