Who runs a car up to 170mph? Did they set the race up for a certain speed? Seems it would be part of the racing agreement. I have never set a race up to go until my car hit terminal velocity. It would be a good way to increase your chances of a catastrophic accident. I’m thinking this is why 1/8 and 1/4 mile races were established. To minimize injury to the participants of these acceleration contests.

all you need to do is upgrade fuel delivery on coyotes, pretty common to see them with 900+ wheel without opening the engine.it all depends on the tune. personally, i wouldn't go over 900 to wheel on stock internals but that's just me. a family friend has a gen3 coyote with paxton supercharger it has basic bolts and upgraded pump has 917 wheel... it's held up for over 2 years now, he drives it to work.

The 2JZ is 2+ decades old. A real race would be vs an auto B58 BMW/Supra. The auto trans is what won the race.
