One thing I have to disagree with Nux on is him saying that Hal was corrupted by power, he wasn't corrupted by power as much as he was already corrupt from the start. If Hal made any attempt to be heroic instead of just giving up when he failed to get the girl then I might agree because there still was some desire to do good independant of his selfish desires. However, he only cared about getting Roxane and nothing else. he didn't even attempt to impress roxane by doing good deeds first, he only thought the Band of superhero mattered. so, in short, I don't believe Hal was Corrupted by his powers, I believe that he was already corrupted and Hal only showed his dark nature once he had the power to get away with it.
