Isaac was physically human but he had just as much hatred and indifference towards humanity as any other vampire. Dracula didn't spare him, Isaac wasn't even a target. As a matter of fact Dracula basically said "I'm killing all of humanity, see you around Broski" and Isaac said "I honestly could not find a single reason to disagree with this plan"

The story of Dracula tho is kinda straight forward, you can only change so much before it's not Dracula anymore. Basically meaning you can't tell Dracula's story w/o including at least 1 of the tropes the story itself popularized. Dracula came out in 1897, I'd say it's older than most tropes

He considered himself disposable for the greater good I can't say with absolute certainty that Dracula would have let Hector live had their goals been achieved and even Hector himself doubted as much prior to his loyalty beginning to waver in favor of Carmilla.

In the end he did 3 180s. He went from a vampire who cared for a human more than anyone else. To a vampire who wanted to wanted to vanquish any human because humans killed his wife for no reason. To a vampire who saw himself no better than the monsters he wanted gone.

If you watched the show you must have seen how the court reacted to him keeping a human wife. They thought she was his pet or plaything or she would be turned soon. By his warning to the elderly woman, you can tell that he didn't plan on destroying the entire world, just Wallachia. Perhaps he started thinking about it after so many months of the war, but after watching the series, I doubt he had any real plans to consider it.
He was getting angrier and expanding his revenge over time. The original one year plan was just to raise an army against Targoviste and the surrounding area, but over that year, as he was recruiting Isaac and the others, he was expanding his hate. By the time the year was up, he was ready to end the world, but also lacked the focus, and needed the others to do it for him.

Vald was a villain from the beginning, he was murdering people for centuries, including those in Wallachia, they murdered his wife because of past evils committed by him. Totally agree, Dracula was so in love with Lisa that he started living as a man. Even though I love the character Trevor Belmont as a hero but I could not consider Dracula as a villain.

Lisa was a physician like Luke In the new testament and the priests didn't like her threatening their power. Her killers were hypocrites and not protected from the demons.

This is my favorite villain ever he hits all of the qualifications right on the head ,menacing,powerful,empathetic, his relationship with the hero and his climax he’s almost treated as the protagonist in this show truly a 20/10 villain
He only took a year because of logistics, so everyone knows. It's stated in the series that it took that year to prepare his army of darkness. They weren't just lying around in some cave somewhere after all, he had to dredge them out of hell one by one.

Though I guess she did quest for him... so maybe it was more like a series of nat 20s over time, leading from a mentorship, to courtship, and then seduction. Either way, the only thing that took this girl from heavily blessed to blursed was that she existed in an anti-Church narrative universe.
Dracula could have gone berserk mode the moment he found out about everything and murked everyone. But because he learned to value life, he gave the town who did this 1 year to make it right. That alone was what made him better than humans. But that shitty town did nothing and even celebrated the death of his wife so yeah they had it coming, no sympathy from me.

Western animators have different sensibilities when it comes to animation but that doesn’t mean it’s inferior on a technical level. Hell, the Family Guy chicken fight sequences are better animated than a lot of Japanese anime.

The worst part of this whole thing is Lisa, WHILE BURNING ALIVE, literally using her last breath to beg Dracula not to slate-wipe the town on her behalf.
Only an amazing show could have a Vampire with righteous cause to destroy, a forgotten relic of a hunter whose whole existence is to hunt said vampires; also team up with Draculas son. And have them both hate the ones who did this to his wife, but also justify them fighting to the death. So many moving story pieces and it all fits together perfectly.

They did a really good job with working with the source material in between Dracula's Curse and Symphony of the Night. The writing is top-notch as is the dialogue.
I always say to this day that there is only so much a man can take before he snaps. Vlad was willing to walk as a man in respect to his wife and try to find some good in the world. Then he comes home to his house burnt down and his wife taken. Then when the lady said that she would be dead by now that is what is set Vlad off. That warning to her from Vlad was the last bit of humanity leaving him. Then to hear that his wife was burned to ash for learning medicine and even while being burned she was screaming to Vlad to not to hurt them, Wallachia celebrated her death. Honestly I don't blame Vlad in the slightest, except I wouldn't want peace, I wouldn't want Wallachia to have a year to repent for what they did. If I was Vlad, i would go to the city myself, army or not, and go door to door and slaughter anyone I saw without mercy. All I saw in Vlad after he returned home was a broken man and I don't blame him for doing what he did

They did a really good job with working with the source material in between Dracula's Curse and Symphony of the Night. The writing is top-notch as is the dialogue.

I always say to this day that there is only so much a man can take before he snaps. Vlad was willing to walk as a man in respect to his wife and try to find some good in the world. Then he comes home to his house burnt down and his wife taken. Then when the lady said that she would be dead by now that is what is set Vlad off. That warning to her from Vlad was the last bit of humanity leaving him. Then to hear that his wife was burned to ash for learning medicine and even while being burned she was screaming to Vlad to not to hurt them, Wallachia celebrated her death. Honestly I don't blame Vlad in the slightest, except I wouldn't want peace, I wouldn't want Wallachia to have a year to repent for what they did. If I was Vlad, i would go to the city myself, army or not, and go door to door and slaughter anyone I saw without mercy. All I saw in Vlad after he returned home was a broken man and I don't blame him for doing what he did

Eradicating humanity after witnessing an entire city celebrating the day they burned his innocent wife at the stake? Not morally good, but Justifiable at least to a degree. Like a man hunting down every wolf he finds for the next 40 years because a pack of wolves ate his son. To Dracula, it was inevitable that humans would cause more pain. So he felt it was justified.
