I lived in Milan in 2017 and the location of this video was a massive building site. CityLife looks so nice now and I'm glad that there are 3 towers (there was only 2 built when I was living there).

I am dreaming of studying geology or geoengineering abroad (I'm from Norway) and I just found out about the possibility of me studying in Milan when taking my masters and I am a person who likes to plan (i am in my 12th year of school, aka I'm 17, 1 year to go until uni) and your videos are just what I need to satisfy my need to know about things years before being able to actually do it haha. Thank you so much!

My first experience renting a house in Japan I had to pay 3 months key money, the first month's rent and one month fee to the real estate company. Key money is kind of like a damage deposit which you may get partially back depending on the condition of the house when you move out. Presently many more cheaper options without all the fees up front.

Milan is not generalizable to all Italy. It is much more costly than other cities. My firt year of PhD i was in milan and they uslually ask 550/600€ for a room, and in many time it was in horrible conditions. So, I commuted from the place where i live to milan, every day 200km (100+100). Prices in Milan are higher the where I live, and it is Brescia the second city of Lombardy.

As for my experience (I'm from Rome) I can say that it depends on how many lessons you must follow directly at university and how many studiyng from home. I managed to work in the weekend as animator and tutoring during the week (if I had lessons only in the morning) so I think a part-time job is possible overall. Salary will be around 500-600 € per month😉

As you said, most of the dealers or landlords hide the condition of the apartment on the website. I have a visa and want to join the university, but I am scared about the resident permit and apartment.

Florence is less expensive than Milan for sure, but if you choose a little town close to the main city the price will be more than affordable. I have a friend who lives in Empoli and the train takes 20-25 minutes to central Florence. Same as me, I live in Ladispoli near Rome and it takes 20 minutes to S.Peter (Vatican) station😉 one bedroom flat will cost not more than 500 euro per month😁 if you need more info just ask btw🤗

You need to try house living in other countries. You are just replicating the Russian apartment mentality in another country. One of the consequences of this is a total lack of comprehension of the value of energy, where it comes from, how it is made and your personal responsibility for it.
