  • In today’s video, we venture out to Tsukiji Market, which happens to be the largest fish market in the world. They have an outer market that is all vendors and restaurants. The vendors sell supplies, food, street food, and pretty much anything else you can dream up.
    The restaurants are small and in areas that seem like small alley ways. If you aren’t looking you will miss them. Troy wanted to show us good sushi, and boy did he deliver. Join us as we have a very involved and life changing sushi experience. It is literally the best we have ever had. Who knew fish could melt in your mouth.
    This is a long episode, so grab a snack and some tea so you can hang with us until the end. Enjoy this Tokyo, Japan travel vlog.
    The Name of the restaurant is Tsukiji ITADORI Bekkan.

    Life changing sushi in the famous Tsukiji Market in today's video! Have you ever had fatty tuna? It's AMAZING!

      We didn't eat fatty tuna before, they were thrown away but became luxury foods recently. I couldn't believe that foreigners eat Sushi , Ramen and Gyoza in the old days. I think the American occupation forces (GHQ) were afraid of these strange foods,after WW2 .(;´Д`)

    Welcome to Japan! It was nice to have enjoyed authentic sushi! In recent years there are many foreign tourists who are going to sushi to rotate, but that can only be eaten cheaply, so I can not understand the taste of real sushi. Happiness that can be eaten by a sushi craftsman properly in front of you is the best I understand how to put soy sauce is also perfect, is not it? • @campingking9784
      @campingking9784 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, it's a Texas size sushi! :-) but that's how it was years and years ago. Since it was too big, they started to cut it in two pieces. That's why a plate of sushi usually comes in two pieces.

    • @user-oq5yr1kp1d
      @user-oq5yr1kp1d 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi I’m also from Japan.
      About that huge sushi:
      Chef was half joking not totally.
      He said”Mukaishi “means long ago.
      Sushi used to be that huge in the Edo era when it first came out.
      It was a street food , selling in sushi stands as a fast food.
      It was for the people who is in a hurry or doesn’t have much time for lunch.
      So it had to be one big piece like a rice ball.
      They bought just one or two piece ate it right away.
      So the chef was half joking like
      “ here’s a ancient SUSHI how you like that!”

    A bit off topic... may I recommend Mexico for a future trip? We spent two months there recently and were astonished by the friendliness of the local people. We travelled extensively on local transport, buses, metro, taxis etc... we found nothing but kindness and smiling faces. I was particularly surprised by the number of theatres, art galleries, bookshops, museums - a highly cultured people. Enjoying your travels.

      Good question
      Yes, a set menu, o-makase (chef’s recommendation course for which you don’t ask they price or get to know what the full course is), and á la carte are typically offered.

    • @beautifulvillian405
      @beautifulvillian405 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, if you don't say 'Omagase'. However, many who said to the chef that Omagase may ask for their favorite sushi one again and it's fine.
      (Omagase is the chef's recommend and prepare to you. You'll get the best sushi ingredients of the season.)
      Or, let's go to fine sushi train restaurant. You can eat all sushi on the belt and order the one you like from the chef. I always do that.
