- The best Marching Band The Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band performs at halftime on Red, White and Blue Day to celebrate our country and the 20th anniversary of 911. The game was against The Texas Aggie and Kent State.

If I had the choice of half time show of seeing a “famous singer” perform or seeing this, I’ll take the latter all day long, it’s an absolute no brainer. I bet I’m not the only one who thinks this. I’d love to see this live, absolutely fabulous show.

I don’t go to AnM but my parents did so I went to all of their football games for years, today I’m going to my first college football game at the college I went to but had to listen to this at least once today

We lived in College Station when I was born. My dad was dorm mother to the band for a while and among my very earliest memories are going over during the afternoon and watching the band practice. It chokes me up every time I hear them start to play the Aggie War Hymn.

It's so nice to see human beings organized and working together for something intellectual and entertaining.
As a former marching band member myself (not from A&M), I can attest to the fact that lots of blood, sweat, and tears went into perfecting these halftime shows. Great job, Texas A&M!

Only half of them play and they don’t have stand tunes memorized, plus they look around all the time. Not as good
@@bdavis7336 marched in that band and you are incorrect. You have to memorize and play along with the corp training. Not easy.

They are so good, it's insane.
I was in many marching band in the 80's when the modern style was taking over all the bands - I missed the era of big military style marching so glad A&M preserves this. It's just cool, very cool to watch the precision.

This band never fails to amaze me each time they perform. Simply incredible to watch! And that includes the curious fancy I have of that bunch of tuba boys cheerers each time the tuba players turn.

My, my , my, that must take some practice. Amazing.
If I'm not mistaken they do a different routine every week. THIS is what I call A MARCHING BAND. I hate these so call bands that have like 10 marimbas, or whatever you want to call them, on the sidelines with gongs and tinker bells, so it seems. and play Mozart, or hip-hop then do some very, very soft music while the musicians on the field are prancing, and doing the tango, waltz, or whatever. and then call themselves "Marching bands". Majority of them can't keep step. GIG EM AGGIES!!!!!!

This is one of the most skilled bands in existence. That said, chaotic running into or out of position/field has always baffled me where every other step was measured to the millisecond.
I grew up in College Station close to the university. I never understood.
The Tuba player at 5.27 did well to recover after the collision. Well done him.

This was the main reason to watch college football, now all we get at halftime is a bunch of over inflated EGOS talking, talking and really saying nothing!

We played trombone king last year when I was a freshman in high school for a concert piece, I've literally spent the last ten minutes replaying this song trying to figure out where I heard it. I can't believe I played this song and didn't realize it until I saw your very helpful comment.
Didn’t one of Rote (Tobin or Kyle?) go to A&M? Back in the day my mother said no one EVER sat down during the game! AND…more people watched A&M marching band at halftime than the football game!
I wanted to because of the Band. I tried for a Scholarship.

I sometimes wonder if the crowd are not cheering the computer programmers who dream up all the Aggie marching
Anyone know what the crowd keeps chanting when they’re starting to change the formation drill?
Usually the Tuba players are last in the change, so everytime a formation of tuba players turn 180 degrees, the crowd make a sound that sounds like, uh...uh...uh..uh....sort of like a grunt.

At 5:56 on the right end you can see what the poor bass drummers have to do so they don’t bump people. They have to crouch down while walking like a crab while still banging the drum & then quickly turn 90 degrees. That has got to hurt their backs over time.
Is it my imagination or is the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band somewhat smaller? It's still impressive but, for some reason -- at least to me -- seems noticeable smaller.
