Family adventure series THE GIFTED, from 20th Century Fox Television in association with Marvel Television, tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Andy has literally been training to break down walls so of course he's gonna tear hers down when she hasn't been training to defend herself against his kind of power.
Elizabeth Daniel yeah it was equal without training in season 1 and they both lost but this part Andy one and the third round goes to Lauren who has gotten much stronger instead of creating shields she can turn them into weapons and uses them against Andy the dream state
I don't think it was a physical battle and more of a mental battle. You can see that Andy was fully ready to finish the fight after it started. But Lauren, although ready to fight was trying to find a way that didn't require her to hurt her brother. Which is probably why she lost.

Lauren's powers are more powerful, creative, and extensive than Andy's powers, but Andy trained a lot

@@mariacatalinaguerrero5022 Andy has six months training plus completely embracing his mutant side while Lauren never really try to embrace her powers. She tried to control it so she can blend well with humans but she never had a proper training for a battle. She's holding back a lot. She still has some ptsd/guilt over Atlanta attack last season.

Lauren's powers are literally weaker. Creative is arguable. Not sure what you mean by "extensive". Is it Andy's fault he trains? Is that supposed to be a bad thing? Inner Circle prepare for battles because that is the reality of the world in this show, the human government isn't their friend

Well I know he's been training more than Lauren I agree with you actually. I don't think we know 100% what Lauren can do yet though. I'll give the Lauren stans that much, it's possible she evolves her powers eventually

I think that is what will happen but they can't take her to the hospital since she is a mutant and a strucker so they will most likely take her to where they are staying or just keep her in a room at the hospital that no is using and put under a different name

Andy isn't "evil" he just has strong beliefs about what mutants needs to do unlike Underground which literally does not seem to have any strategy or plans to improve the society at all and are just reacting against things, doing whatever their cult leader Evangeline Whedon tells them to including try to kill former relatives and teammates simply due to disagreement
I do think it'd be cool for Lauren to join Andy or those two to go off on their own toward end of season

Y'all can't say Andy wasn't feeling guilty and sorry, obviously his pause was him contemplating his actions but like Reeva said: she (lauren and his family) can hate him, but at the end of the day their cause is bigger. They literally talked about something like this happening like 2 episodes ago lmaO. Yeah their powers cancel each other out, but given the fact Andy's been training thus enchaning his powers more so than Lauren, obviously he was going to overpower her.
Exactly Lana, good point. You can say Reeva is manipulating Andy but then Evangeline the dragon woman is also manipulating Thunderbird. Reeva's speech made sense to Andy and helped give him the confidence to do what he feels he has to

Lauren isn't even angry to begin with though. She just doesn't have the kind of strong emotions Andy does, because he believes in something and is trying to make it happen. Lauren like the rest of the Underground has no idea what they're even doing and just wander around randomly

Yeah I am liking his determination. Sure he has feeling for Lauren of course and he didn't try to kill either of them (unlike Marcos who was ABOUT to try to kill everyone in the vehicle, what a psychopath). He simply "stood his ground" as it were, and made sure his team could escape after a mission

Lauren was hopelessly naive too much time spent around the dopes in the Underground. Maybe this will be a good growing-up experience for her , part of her transitioning over to joining Andy eventually

Besides after being hit and left unconsicious by Andy, as much as she loves her brother I highly doubt she will seriously think about joining him and I have the feeling that now Lauren will be her parents' center of attention due to what happened to her and her parents started to have a good relationship with her when Reed talked with her and Caitlin about his powers when they ate at the table and she gained her parents' trust in going to talk to Andy so I don't think Lauren will join Andy
It's not about physical training I meant her naive mindset of "I can get through to him". Staying with the Underground dopes won't help improve that crucial flaw. She needs to toughen up not just physically but mentally as well, the Underground cannot help with that pretty much by definition.
Now she has first-hand experience of how simply believing "through the magical power of love all things will be solved" is BS and can get you seriously hurt or even killed. That's what I mean by a wake up call for her.

I don't care what your ideal are.. but leaving your family on the road while they are unconscious is just wrong. Anyway, I think Lauren needs to move on now and grow her abilities because that girl has loads of potential! I think he felt bad for that and was confused with his action but he wasn't calm enough to think it through.
I know she still believes that the brother she grew up with is still in there the only reason him and Lorna are acting like this is because reeva and the frost sisters did something to them cause Marcos sensed it when Esme was in his mind some how he saw what reeva's true plans and he was trying to warn her that reeva is not what she appears to be he was telling Lorna that she did something to her

I think Esme planted a sublingual message in there heads cause they tried to do it to Marcos but it somehow back fired and in the process he saw what reeva really has planned but my question is if he knows what her true intentions are why didn't he tell the others and instead of keeping it to himself
For some reason I felt really bad for Andy when they fought. They made him attack he kept looking back to the truck and everything because he didn't want to do it especially when he found out that she was having the same dream. He was so unsure and was scared even though he said he wasn't. What he was saying wasn't genuine at all.

Alexander Platypus I think he blew up when Lauren said that he was scared so never mind about that . But you could tell that he was remorseful for hurting Lauren he still cares about her. I'm not so sure about the new family for confidence thing but sadly he did what he had to do.

Andy has more destructive, useful, and trained powers. He could easily beat her but the only thing holding him back is the fact that she is his sister and he doesn’t want to hurt her because he cares about her

She will probably train to use her powers in different ways from now on, and that will probably include using them in offensive ways. But yeah defense alone can never win a fight

I wonder if Reeva knows if Andy and Lauren work together their unstoppable, like Fenris. If so she should try to bring Lauren over and not think abt killing Andy. But personally I think Marcos, Lorna, Lauren and Andy should just get the heck out of the 2 extreme groups and form their own group, less passive and less aggressive. Maybe Esme can join them too.
I think what might end up happening is Reeva dies or is imprisoned or something but Lorna and Esme take over Inner Circle and make it a bit less harsh but still about protecting mutants by aggressive acts. And maybe Underground becomes more active. So the 2 sides move closer together
AHH scene was rather emotionally conflicted and intense. Have to admit. I’m loving the direction they’re going.
Me too, I hope they can keep this show ambiguous and nuanced and not pure good vs pure evil. They're doing an OK job of it but too many fans are brainwashed to think Underground are always right and Reeva is always wrong, the show needs to be a little better about showing it's more complex

I think that Lauren's powers can put her in omega patamar, if she learned how to extended it, cuz in a molecular level she could control all about her own body, manipulating the cells. Maybe she could even be immortal

It's impossible to persuade these pro Underground fans. I have tried so much. Once , maybe every 10 or 15 of them, they understand. But the rest are just too stubborn and don't even notice what happens on the show, they just invent their own show in their heads and don't accept the facts lmao

Andy explained why, as did Lorna, as did Sage. Because "that side" is actually trying to accomplish things, while Underground is too passive and barely even reacts to anything, and has 0 plan whatsoever to improve the society
One thing I feel people are forgetting is Andy was bullied before getting his power which kinda adds fuel to the fire of having a strong,angry, determination of wanting to hurt people the way he was hurt. Ex is back in season 1 when he was attacking those Sentinel service guards and Lauren trying to stop him. Which also in a way gave him a huge reason for getting stronger which is why he has been training because he doesn't want to feel weak or helpless like he did against those bullies. When u take Andy's feelings in account to all that's been happening to him and him learning of the struckers past. Andy making the choices he has isn't a surprise also Lauren just like Andy was holding back because given the chance ether one could defeat the other. Andy is kinda a hot head and Lauren has been shown to be cool and calm which could allow her to out smart Andy but Andy is just really destructive. Now I'll say that If Lauren every decides to stop trying to pretend that one day that she'll have a normal life with her family and finally decide to take her mutant side seriously and learn what she's fighting for then there is no doubt she will be a force to be reckoned with like Andy already is.
Honestly, not just the bullying had influence in the reasons that motivated Andy to join the Inner Circle as dangerous as they are and therefore made Andy thirsty for revenge against the humans, there's also the parents' lack of understanding of their son, if Reed were the father to Andy that he's being now to Lauren, Andy probably would've stayed with his family, but both Reed and Caitlin were basically demonizing everything Andy and Lauren said about their powers, Lauren was the only one of his family in season 1 who understood her brother and tried to comfort him when he was feeling down, despite the momenta when the both of them disagreed and Lauren didn't approve of Andy's curiosity to learn about his great-grandparents' past, which in itself isn't really a bad idea taking into account that the Von Struckers had the same powers as Andy and Lauren and knowing more about their past, could've helped Lauren and Andy to understand better their gifts.
The problem came when Andy used the historical information he got about his great-grandparents as inspiration to want to become just like them, and that combined with his years of bullying at his school and his parents' lack of understanding and disinterest in listening to him and not allowing Andy to express his feelings, especially when it came to his powers, given that Andy destroys things, you could say Andy really wants to get back at everyone, well everyone except Lauren but still he joined the Inner Cuecle because they told Andy exactly what he wanted to hear and they are giving Andy exactly what he wants right now: use his powers to prove himself stronger than others, si he can never again be humilliated, persecuted and bullied over because of him being a mutant or just because Andy is not as cool and the famous "popular kids" and other things

The mutant underground needs to go in full effective training , all of them. I think their holding back on their power and not utilizing it to the best of their ability. Lauren's powers are more powerful, even to the possibility were she can control FAR MORE then air around her, maybe even other elements. In previous episodes she says "I can control the air around me. I can do it to other things to, like water, but it's just harder." The reason she has lost is just because she neglects to train her abilities to become superior to Andy's. Since he's trained for a longer time he won. But ultimately Lauren is potentially stronger. Just psychologically weak compared to her brother.
yall cant bet his delusional, Andy can literally explode and break things and he can blow up things as well, if he really wanted her dead he could do it in one second. Lauren was shielding against a vehicle probably going at full speed so that must have cost her some energy. Probably that's why Andy could one up her this time. She definitely could use some training though. Also I'm not forgiving Andy for a long time. I don't think after this the Struckers would still believe they could bring him back to them to the Underground now...

Just finished season 1 and don't feel like watching anymore. I just hate how Lorna became bad. Moreover, I hate Andy. He thinks he's so powerful that he can do anything he wants, even at the expense of disrespecting his family. There should be a scene where Lauren beats Andy's powers. To show him he's not all that.
Lorna was never bad-as someone who has been manipulated before-I can sympathize-though-that doesn't excuse her actions-I believe she never would have been done the things she did were it not for esme. Speaking of esme-I don't care what people say-I still don't trust her.
can't lauren control molecules of other things besides air? when she learns to do that she's gonna be so much more powerful

If that was the goal, the Inner Circle would have done it at any time in the past 6 months. But they're the good guys and they don't hate other mutants, they want to help them all. So they leave Underground alone and hope they'll eventually figure it out
This scene messed me up...I think Lauren will be different when she wakes up though. As for andy, well its either he attack lauren or Reeva finds out kills him or finds Lauren and kills her. I hope Andy and lauren can reunite and team up some how. As for Marco if he wants to get Lorna and his kid back he needs to make a plan. First they need to take Reeva out... seeing her abilities so far, make me think they would need her to focus on one target fully and plan a sneak attack to possibly take her out. thats if they can get past The frost sisters and incapacitate Andy...

I think the Frosts are getting more and more to Andy's head. I think Andy will help her, but the Frosts said "No, leave her alone and get in the car" or something😂🤷🙄
Maybe they told him there's no time but i Mean what could he do? Psycho Marcos was there, he wants to KILL both Andy and Lorna (and the Frosts of course). Marcos doesn't even care at all anymore he's gone totally crazy. They had to either kill Marcos or run for it. The fact they left Marcos and Lauren shows they are NOT evil. They could have run them both over if they wanted to....
I would've been Lauren in this situation. I could never hurt my sibling like that.
I think Lauren will be out of action for awhile she hit her head hard and now Andy will have to live with the fact that he just attacked his own sister and Andy will have doubts about what him and Lorna are doing I have a feeling that reeva will see Andy as a risk and will probably have frost take him out of the equation
Andy will become even more committed because he was attacked by Lauren and Marcos but he was forced to defend against them. He will worry about her yes but he is going to meet this new mutant and that might keep his focus more. Also there is 0 chance Reeva kills Andy I think that was a one-time worry she had about him but they're cool now
@@alexanderplatypus3664 yes you have a point so how do you think this is going to play out cause Lauren will do whatever it takes to get Andy back she said this to her parents so I think John aka thunderbird is going to train her just as Lorna and reeva are training Andy like she said she will bring him home even if it's by force
Well my idea is that Reed will fight Reeva or something and die. Or maybe Reed fights Purifiers and dies. And that kind of breaks Lauren emotionally driving her into a spiral of despair until she joins up with Andy to get revenge. And the two of them are together for end of this season as their own side or maybe with a few others like the new mutant girl

Yeah idk about Blink, I also worry the Morlocks might get targeted by Purifiers.
I don't think this show would mess up the Thunderbird-Blink relationship after Lorna and Marcos is already basically ruined it would upset a lot of shippers. But they might do it. Maybe they can make some new "ships" to keep people happy

It's just the nature of their mutations plus Andy is way more determined and has a lot more willpower currently
I get that you all might blame Andy, but he did try and give Lauren and Marcos a chance to walk away and he did say sorry before he knocked her out flat, but besides Andy, it’s their mother Caitlin who I think is mostly to blame for Lauren’s life being endangered, she’d done nothing for the last six months and every episode of this season so far but search for Andy, forgetting all about Lauren and Reed, getting herself shot and now Lauren could be in danger of losing her life.

I think Andy will most likely try and go back to his family but Lorna won't cause she feels the inner circle is her birth right it's what her dad would want
