    Im english and a huge Clapton fan. Always wanted to see him at the Royal Albert. I was at this concert. To be honest, I was deeply disappointed that he didnt play more of his classics. I could have had more fun sitting at home watching youtube videos of this his greatest songs than paying $400 a ticket for this. Sorry Eric, this could have been way better.

    • @MonkyTube18
      @MonkyTube18 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you would have more fun sitting at home watching videos and not appreciate a legend and what he has to offer and the magic of a live performance.... that 400 dollars are not well spent indeed.

    • @BunyanaRed1958
      @BunyanaRed1958 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think $400 is an outrageous amount to charge to see a concert. I've seen Eric 20 times and the most I've paid is 50 quid. I have loved Eric and his music for the best part of 40 years now, and I wouldn't pay to watch him now. Of course he's 76 now and time catches up with us all. I hate to say this, but he's past it. I don't expect him now to be as good as he was in the 80's 90's etc. it's just not there anymore. His dexterity on the guitar has gone. Maybe he should just go out now and play acoustically. It's a piss take charging that amount of money to see him now.

      I was there too and it was incredibly disappointing. I’m a Young guy though and wasn’t fortunate enough to be able to hear him play in his prime but I was Incredibly disappointed that he didn’t even solo that much, he had his touring guitarist play many of the solos. He was good but I paid to see Eric Clapton. Then again, I understand he’s getting old. I was extremely disappointed though that he didn’t play crossroads. Crossroads was one of the first songs I learned on guitar and I was so disappointed at the end of the show I got up and yelled “What! No crossroads?!” And the dude in front of me said “Yeah bro he’s gotta play crossroads what the hell”. All in all Eric is a legend but I just don’t think he has it anymore. Seeing John Mayer in 2019 was a much much better show than this one. Still a good show, just not amazing or legendary like JM was in 2019.

    • @corradonocent113
      @corradonocent113 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeffreyyoung5119 John Meyer is his natural heir, mister Clapton is still fighting inside his health condition , is an old King. For me Clapton actually is still THE KING OF BLUES.....THE HEIR OF B.B King. Doyle Bramhall jr technically perfect , but he did not made the history of Music....IMFAO.

      I think they ran with something that wasn't actually true. What he said was that he wouldn't play to an "only" vaccinated crowd. There's a guy with a channel called The Real Music Observer that talked about it today and said Rolling Stone owes Clapton an apology and even he had to issue a clarification to the story.

    • @hammill444
      @hammill444 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SimpleManGuitars1973 The Real Music Observer is a total clown. Everyone online knows that. Clapton wanted to put forth this notion of having convictions. But his only guiding conviction in this regard- clearly- is money. He will play anywhere- regardless.
