Ah, yes... yes. This is back when Mikhail Baryshnikov was dancing with The New York City Ballet. Reportedly, he left the American Ballet Theatre to dance with George Balanchine's company and do his unique innovative choreography. Misha was probably Heather's best partner. But that may be the case with any ballerina fortunate enough to dance with Misha Baryshnikov. Still, Misha got a little bored dancing the classics... they were too easy for him and he wanted to dance the always-brilliant radical works of George Balanchine. Baryshnikov and Watts really have something here. Their legs are just amazing! Balanchine's composure here is radical as always... To Natalie S... thanks for making sure none of us forget, that the greatness is preserved...
More to that , tsiskaridze is ugly and has no technique. NYCB needs to learn how to dance Tye choreography of this brilliant Russian choreographer from Mariinsky ( Kirov ballet)
Thank you so much for preserving this!!! I have been searching for the Whitehouse presentation of Jewels Ballet for years, especially Rubies with Baryshinikov. Thank you again! .
THIS WAS AWESOME. that one part near the end with both in a great big seconde (when she's on her pointes) and the romp romp romp music, that got f e i s t y she was a cowgirl fooor suuure 🍸🔥🍷 thank you so much for this.
What are all you sycophants talking about? This is the single worst performance of this I have ever seen and I've seen it hundreds of times. No wonder Baryshnikov didn't last long at NYCB. Get a clue!
Its certainly not the usual Balanchine presentation but dont mean we are all morons who know nothing about ballet its just our view. So calm down mate😮
'Didn't last at NYCB'? Baryshnikov had to take time off from NYCB to recover from surgery and tendonitis. Then he got the job of Artistic Director at ABT. George Balanchine himselfsaid Baryshnikov was welcome to return to NYCB any time he wanted.

Thier legs are used in incredibly sexy way. My god he was sex on legs😂
I love watching Barishvnikov he was so great,. This Tarentella was a delight.
Otherworldly performances fit for royalty and dignitaries.Thank you for sharing.
Wow, has she got a pair o' legs. Gorgeous choreography & performance.
Perfect... my two favorite performers of Rubies - Baryshnikov and Tsiskaridze, my two favorite dancers...
Tsiskaridze dances like a woman! Not a Balanchine dancer!
More to that , tsiskaridze is ugly and has no technique. NYCB needs to learn how to dance Tye choreography of this brilliant Russian choreographer from Mariinsky ( Kirov ballet)
Tsiskaridze is as ugly as hell

Heather Watts !!!!
THIS WAS AWESOME.

thank you so much for this.
Lovely! Do we know who the ballerina was?
Heather Watts
The singular HW 🌟
It doesn't matter that she is taller than him. He's such a versatile masuline dancer he can carry it off with ease.😊
Heather Watts.
Back when NYPD dancers were sooooo good....
It's bad form not to mention the ballerina. This is Heather Watts
Why is the choreography here a bit different than the other videos?
Absolutely beautiful dancing, but Heather is too tall for Baryshnikov. And that high bun makes her look even taller

Marcel Audubon you might want to take your own advice.

I agree . He doesn't present the casual Balanchine style
