Honestly I think Samsung doesn't trust the sensors enough, years back it was necessary to have some sharpening but now the sensors are so good that if you just turn off all that sharpening it just looks better and more realistic. What is happening with 200MP is that they don't want to make you wait a ton of time to process the picture so they removed some of the processing so it looks... real, shadows are actually a gradient instead of a sharp line. At least in well lit conditions Samsung needs to let the sensors do the work more, turn off that sharpening.
No matter what setting you choose, you never kinda know what you'll end up with. You lose photos of precious moments, nerves, time waiting for those promised updates. That's my biggest gripe when it comes to cameras on Samsung phones and one of the reasons I gave up.

Maybe nice to compare try. :)) I am big fan of google camera software on Samsung phones. Works magics as well on mine s24 ultra :) I found thread on reddit before buying and as I was happy with google cam on s7 and s9+ I was really pleased with this version. Agc toolkit on google play is nice help :) maybe its not your cup of tea but its I believe worth a shot try ;) great channel you have, great content :)))
i noticed that too, the 50 mp isnt a real 50 mp like when shooting in pro mode. they try to bin the 12mp with detail of the 50 megapixel but it doesnt work out that well in terms of retaining detail. The exessive sharpening is also a pain in the ass. The 200 mp is cool but its hardly better than other phones 50 mp. I compared it with my old oneplus 7t 48mp sensor and it is better but not 4 times the resolution better. There are visible processing artefacts on 200 mp when cropping in which makes it look blurry. I suppose its some kind of compression algorithim to compress it into 37mb. Thanks for the video as always Velian
Tnx man. Yes, the binned 50MP somehow is a hit or miss, but more often, it's a miss. But at least now the overall outlook is a bit more similar vs before.
This is the negative result of Samsung's gimmick named Adaptive Pixel. As person who is well versed in advanced photography with a phone, i can spot the negatives.

the problem in the 50mp camera is excessive sharpening. The result may appear "brighter" and "live" but when you zoom into the image you get disappointed about how much detail is lost everywhere. Foliage suffers most of the damage. There is a trick you can do to block post processing: disable all permissions from the gallery app and take the pictures, they will be saved without post processing. To see the pictures, re-enable the gallery app permissions. I would like to see you trying this "hack" and comment about the results.
I am happy to see this change although the HDR is incredibly bad when you start using those Higher modes which I wish you showed more pictures of those. The pixel 9 Pro seems to be ay better no matter which mode you use but the processing takes time on the higher mode. I agree with you what's the point of having a HUGE 200 mb but you cant trust the output, if there are greens or reds it oversaturates like crazy and when you use it on people its just horrible!

I am satisfied anyway with the camera performance and the phone itself. I love it for its versatility. The whole complaining about the S24 Ultra camera system is very subjective to people's preferences. Also, people demand way too much these days; it's ridiculous. Anyways after checking the S23U stock camera latest patch vs GCam 9.2 latest 202408 update by BigKaka, S23U stock has overcooked colors and too much sharpening. They improved 50MP auto on the textures from the previous stock vs latest patch, but still worse than GCam. Too bad

Да, колкото повече оптимизация, преработка, бининг, толкова по-зле става. Четох, че в One UI7 успели уж да изкарат приблизително качество на 50MP да е, като при 12MP. Уж с quad bayer сензора с голяма разделителна може да се работи, като такъв с по-малка, като уж не вкарва повече шум и прочие, но на практика quad bayer с бининг рядко е по-добър от снимка от по-малък bayer сензор... Всичко вече е така, за съжаление и raw формата вече е толкова обработен, насложени кадри, на практика не получаваш пак картина директно от сензора преди обработка...то не е HDR, то не е lossless RAW...

@@kazitamas4693 , Vivo X100 Pro does the most detailed photos. Its 2x zoom photos are the best among any other smartphone on the market. Even better than its more expensive brother Vivo X100 Ultra.
@@AutomotiveCNC super interesting indeed otherwise at the same sensor size, the S21u runs with 0.8μm, while that of the 24 is at 0.6μm so I agree with the idea, by miniaturizing the photodiodes too much, even if the wells are optimized, the quantity of light is not there, and therefore you have to cheat with the binning and overprocess
So little difference between the 3 different shots - just shows how good mobile photography is getting. The 200 MP is an Overkill, not many will ever use. That file size is not practical.

Hi brother, I have a suggestion for you turn off put not working apps to sleep mode it will boost the experience and it is not useful cause if you put the apps in sleeping or deep sleeping mode it doesn't do anything
12 is very blurred, 50 is better but lots of over sharpening, 200 looks naturally sharpened with moddest colors.. Honestly i think samsung should just drop the 12mp and make the 50mp the new default. The 200mp is very good and we should keep that for portraits/zoom shots. I like that its not artificially sharpening the image.
Absolutely agree but even the detail is strange, it's like from another phone in most photos... but still a bit better vs before, but that sharpness is way too much.
@@VelianSpeaksTech S23U does the same, just yesterday I paused a video of mine with greenery and the sharpening just kills it for me. On pause you can exactly pinpoint the issues that makes the video look unnatural and ugly as I said already. When taking pictures at least you have the option to put it medium sharpening, but what do we do with video?

Ice universe said that that the vd performance has improved a lot and is conformed. Plus u gonna get the 4gh clock speed for comparison the s24u has a 3gh clock speed which is a huge jump so might wanna Waite
IMO the 50MP has become and aweful option. The oversaturation and oversharpening looks horrible on my S23 Ultra. I used to love it before one ui 6.1. still need to test it on one ui 6.1.1.
The Redmi Turbo 3 is only China I believe, the global version is under the Poco brand. You can watch my reviews and tests with it, and if you decide it`s worth the money, go for it.

Trust me my S8,S8plu,Note 10 plus and 21ULTRA still take better photos than my current uselss 24ultra with a very useless 200MP trash sensors..I will still get myslef the 21ULTRA for better and reliable camera.

This sensor is designed to shoot with 12MP. Given this, and the huge files sizes, 50MP and 200MP aren't worth it at all.

The 200MP is actually quite impressive. Much more detail in shadow areas and I don't mind that it underexposes a bit. That can easily be corrected.

Oh yes, the Pixel is so much more consistent in all modes. It does also over sharpen a bit, but all modes plus raw look uniform

If I am not mistaken, Ice Universe mentioned a camera update with One UI 6.1.1 and further changes with One UI 7, especially 50 MP 1x and 5x photos.

Ah I forgot to update. I used XNView MP. Just need to select several photos you want to compare, then Tools > Compare, then select A/B if you need it.

Have you noticed the noticably better zoom performance of the s24 ultra when using 9.8x zoom and then cropping in?
Not yet on 9.8x but I tested 3x 5x 10x 30x and 100x and they all seem better vs one ui 6.1

50mp even on the 23 ultra is over sharpened. I now use pro mode and it's way better than standard photo mode 👌

i think you need to turn off adaptive pixel in camera assistant because it mixes 12mp shots with 200mp shots and makes them have less quality
