I think your talking about the bottom right R3 button I have big hands My thumb hits that button by accident when I play So if you look close at all my 16 button videos that button is taped over I took out the switch and tape down the keycaps so I don't loose it I remapped the top button to R3 instead of a second L3 Hope that makes sense Thanks for watching subscribing and your comment
Don't know if I'd call it a rebrand But they feel very much the same I would look at the pack count when considering do you need 20 or 90 or 10 or etc Hope that helps Thanks for watching subscribing and your comment
Thank you for another very informative video. I just bought the Crystal switches yesterday to put them on my T-13 simply cause I hate how the red switches look. I love the crystal design the T-Series has so the red switches were like a sore thumb and I didn't want to buy a T12-T-16 Crystal series cause I really like the T-13 button layout. Might give the Wind switches a try or keep them in mind for the future.
Nice thats a really good idea. For the price of the switches you can just swap them in and keep it moving and with the Crystals it will be brighter too Thanks for watching subscribing and your comment

Hard to explain in text But basically they are smoother and snap back a little quicker and the pressure to down press is lower so you have to use less strength to activate which is nice on long sessions The stock switches are fine But for me..... LoL Once I crossed over to ghost and wind engine switches...... I can't go back lol Folks would mention in Discord and in my comments and didn't get it at 1st then I tried them.... So your not missing anything until you find out So if not in the budget your fine your all set if in the budget... Get a 20 pack Install on the 4 directionals and on the 6 action buttons that's 10 and you can do 2 pads with 1 pack that's what I do And thank me in the morning lol Like I thank the folks that told me lol Hope that helps Thanks for watching subscribing and your comment
I got the R16 recently and I like the crystal switches but everyone is saying they instantly switched to the wind engines. Is it worth it to actually change em or is it just a minor difference?
For me... and budget is not an issue (hello and sorry to your spouse.... lol ) Get the Wind Engines or Ghost Switches lol So here's the thing I was where you are and when I 1st started using the Wind Engine and the Ghost switches at 1st it felt basically the same but slightly better But then a couple weeks went by using only those switches and I got a new controller to review with stock red / crystal switches and I felt it There not bad and not required but the Wind Engine and Ghost switches feel smoother to me and not as muddy or not as smooth Again to anyone reading the Red and Crystal are fine and great switches I still have them on some of my pads They are perfect default switches but Ghost and Wind Engine are a nice upgrade and what I use on all my pads in my opinion after folks convinced me Hope that helps Thanks for watching subscribing and your comment
For $10.. Honestly just buy them lol and grab some o rings links to everything in the description So now you ordered them let's explain why I like them.. Essentially they are smoother and seem to bounce back quicker and be easier / smoother when you press down for me... I like linear like the ghost switches. Many like phantom or wizard switches also I recommend upgrading the 4 arrow keys and the 6 action buttons and leaving the rest of your pad to factory reds This way you only use 10 and you can do 2 pads from 1 pack You wont notice at 1st but after a day or 2 start pressing the switches that were left on standard red and you will notice the red feels mushy or not as smooth to me... If you never upgraded it's not a problem your not missing anything and things are not broken but.... After folks told me and I used them when I get new pads I can notice after about 20 minutes oh yeah these aren't ghost or wind engine switches lol. Does't change my pad opinion I think the reds are perfect for default and a nice middle ground. Hope that helps Sorry long message on laptop Thanks for watching subscribing and your comment

Can you use these wind engine switches in one of the 3d printed flatbox controllers that come with v1 chocs? It seems like that's exactly what you did with the flatbox you showed but I'm not sure if you did any additional modifications because I thought the pins of the v1 and v2 were different and not interchangeable
So I did take the v2's and put them in the v1 board Things are working fine from what I can tell. I need to go down the Google rabbit whole and see if it's not supposed to work or if it will start acting up later I did it on a controller my kids use now and I did a live stream with it and it is working fine. So I dont have more than an a couple hours or so of play time after the rebuild personally and my kids havent complained but that's kids lol. So I don't want to give you the wrong answer but ours is working as of now fine on the 3D printed board switch swap I did fingers crossed lol So to your original question, I would say it would work fine but haven't tested. Thanks for watching subscribing and your comment
I did an AI search and here is the reply I received below. The board I have is compatible and another board I did this too from Duelpad was compatible as well but others may have issues if they dont do their Googles first to see if their pad is compatible converting from v1 to v2 switches Good question and comment thank you FWD: Q: can i replace Choc V1 with V2 switches? ChatGPT: Yes, you can replace Choc V1 switches with Choc V2 switches in your keyboard, but there are a few important things to consider: Compatibility: Ensure that your keyboard supports the footprint and pin configuration of Choc V2 switches. Choc V1 and V2 switches have different designs, so the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) must be compatible with V2 switches. Height Difference: Choc V2 switches are slightly taller than V1 switches. This can affect the overall height of your keyboard and may require adjustments to the case or keycaps. Keycaps: Make sure that the keycaps you plan to use are compatible with Choc V2 switches. The stem design and spacing might differ, so keycaps designed for V1 switches might not fit properly on V2 switches. Soldering: If your keyboard is not hot-swappable, you will need to desolder the old switches and solder the new ones. Make sure you are comfortable with soldering or seek help from someone experienced. Switch Feel: Choc V2 switches might have a different feel compared to V1 switches. It's a good idea to try out a few V2 switches before committing to a full replacement to ensure you like the typing experience. If you confirm these aspects and find everything compatible, you can proceed with replacing Choc V1 switches with Choc V2 switches on your keyboard.
I need to check those out Are they LoFee Silents? I need to do my googles on those and see who makes them and the type if they are linear or click or etc Thanks for watching subscribing and your comment
If you're using a Flatbox, whether it be original, SE, Ultra, or Ultra S, you're going to want to buy the Crystal switches, with a pack of O-Rings (40-thins?) and some 205g0 lube. The Wind Machines are lubed. Ghosts are POM. Get the crystals for better LED, better performance, and then lube and O-ring them up for the silent effect. You want soft thin O-rings so you can dampen sound, and still have travel on the switch. Maybe double up o-rings, works for most keyboard users. Another thing that can help with Flatboxes is getting a non-slip 3M pad to slap on the bottom. It also helps reduce noise. On keyboards we lube, o-ring, and slap a foam sticky layer under the PCB to dampen sound. Maybe even get some thin craft foam from your local craft store and layer it between the PCB and casing. But get the Crystals. Better LED lighting. Especially if you're using clear caps and you don't want the red nipple look. They also brighten up better. The Kailh Choc V1 slim switches actually kind of interfere with the RGB lighting. The V2s were a little better, but you had the colored dot on the stem. As for ghosts and phantoms, that will actually hinder your RGB lighting, but they feel amazing and when lubed and O-ringed, they work well and can become near silent as well. Get the crystals. They're on the M16 for a reason. Slap em on your Flatbox and never look back. Now, do me a favor... What the heck does the FN button do on a Flatbox Ultra S? Please explain... Can I save profiles with it? Everything else.makes sense, but why the FN button?
