I really can’t decide on the r16 or m16+. I like the metal and premium feel of the m16+ but the layout for r16 is calling to me. I’m hoping they do come out with a metal r16 at some point.
@@bradsmusicbox that's a tough comparison they are so different and their goal is so different
Rings or metal build quality
In layout your looking more at the R vs T as the MPlus is just a polished higher quality T
So if you don't have a pad at all
The R is cheaper and will give you a clue of if you'll like this style without spending a ton of money
If you know you like this style the MPlus is really nice but no left pinky or rings
Sorry they're so different in design they almost don't compare to one another
That's a tough one can't wait to hear what you decide to get

Thank you so much for this comparison - I've been pretty stumped on whether I wanted to get the R16 or T16 but this has really helped reassure the R16 is what I want to try first! Also Brooks Adapters should become a standard unit of measurement haha

And can't forget the paper test for size too lol
I'm excited for you to get your first pad the T and the R are great models
In my opinion get the wind engine switches as well and a Magicboot or Booter 5 if your on PS5 helps a lot too

The R16 is a really nice pad.

The buttons are technically about the same as the T just the action point if smaller with the smaller buttons
The price on Aliexpress is on sale a lot though so keep an eye out and you might catch a sale to get it cheaper

If you like large caps the T
Smaller layout or testing if you will like this style of controller and find want to spend much go with the S or P

T pro and T are basically the same
M plus and T and T pro and R
Use the same switches so same input delay

Thanks for the comparison :) I'm thinking about buying R16 for the rims and smaller buttons than T, but does the R feels less durable than T models? I've seen reviews that imply that R series easily bends, because it's thinner than T.
The R is about 2mm's thinner if I remember right than the T.
It does creak or bend more but thats because it is thinner. The design is more flexible so it is made to just bend it back which sounds crazier than it is for slight bends.
They both sometimes require you to unscrew slightly and then retighten all the screws. I think that is for shipping if you live in a hot or cold place the acrylic doesn't crack in shipping they might make the screws a little loose for that IDK.
As for which is better the spacing is basically the same so the question is do you want rings or no rings and do you plan to use left pinky or left thumb.
Also if you put a non slip mat from Focus Attack on the bottom of your R it will prevent creaking also from my experience.

@@drjones694 Thanks for extensive reply! :) Although I had a good price for R16, ultimately I've just ordered... S16. because I realized that I don't want a big device on my desk. Also T and R seem to have some cons for me (like buttons being big on T, then buttons being tall on R). So if both are not ideal, why not try S first for cheap ;)

Start cheap and see what you like 1st
I have a video on installing art and at the 1 min mark you can see the S to the R frame and T to R frame
Your going to love the S small, good layout and easy to customize the art

@@drjones694 Yeah, that's one big advantage of T/R, because they are big, they are able to display some nice artwork fully. I really like your customization of R16, I've already seen it before :)
S16 is nearly fully covered with buttons, so I think I will use more of a pattern/wallpaper graphic that's just colorful. Probably some page from a magazine or a book :D
I've also bought this cheap "circle cutter" compass tool from Aliexpress for $2, to cut those button holes evenly.

Do you know what type of screws and caps are used on the edges of the T16 that holds it together? One of the screws and caps recently broke for me when I was trying to tighten the edges. I’m not sure what they’re called exactly or where to find replacements. Love your videos btw, been binging your reviews lately. Keep it up!

Hello, is the button sizes/spacing on the R series similar to the S?
No the R is more in line with the T
From my testing it felt like T button but
The part you play on is a small button and the ring fills in the rest of the space
so 1 ring and small button in the middle
equal about the size of 1 T button

M16 is currently 100 bux, M16+ is 160 bux.
So, extra 60 USD for a little more wrist space? Or am I missing something?

AliExpress takes 2 weeks to get to the US though so that part...
but I have no issues with that so that's how I order
So perfect world price not an issue the m plus is more comfortable and nicer than the m to me and my large hand size I use the M as my travel pad

If you don't need metal or never used leverless
The T is the perfect alternative and half the price on Amazon and cheaper on AliExpress
You could almost get the T and M Plus both on AliExpress for almost $160
If you go with AliExpress you could get the T wind engine switches and the booter 5 for PS5 for almost the 1 M Plus
Tough decision but hope that helps it's about hand size try the paper test and if you need large go with the T if the M Plus cost is to high

But they only connect to the acrylic top on the R or U
Not the bottom case
So they won't work on the T or M Plus

Reryaa!! tested today live and want to give a report for folks that find this later
We tested and it works but it does bottom out a little bit you can hear the key hitting the acrylic top
so I would not recommend it but it does work from what I can tell with limited testing

why does the m16+ have a piece of tape over one of the buttons?

1st the M16 is a really nice pad, I'm excited for you I think your going to love the build quality. O rings and Wind Enging / Ghost switches work really well on that pad smoother and quieter with the o rings

So I wear a XXXL riding glove
I have long fingers
So the 16th button is right under my thumb and I hit it all the time by accident on most pads
So inside joke with my subscribers
if you look at most of my newer videos with most 16 button pads the switch is lower and glossy since I pull / remove the switch
I tape the keycap down so I dont lose it
I try to hide it in the light now days but this was when I first started doing it lol
I dont talk about it in my reviews because my hands are weird to most I'm learning
So it's not a negative or issue with the pad it's just my hands
