I have been a critical care nurse for 17 years and a few months ago I moved to PACU. I noticed my first few days there I felt dizzy and a little nauseous. I just thought I had a bug. But over a few months I noticed I repeatedly had those symptoms and only while at work. I never called off or anything and nobody else seemed to have this issue. I really thought it was in my head. After three months I just felt PACU wasn’t for me and transferred back to my old unit. I’ve not felt dizzy since. This video makes me wonder if I was just more sensitive to the WAG than other nurses.
So happy to find this video a lot of great information. Since this videos airing is Aspan involved in advocating to gov agencies to pass laws and recommendations for control of wag in the PACU? Also, do you know of any EBP projects that address this issue that nurses could present to their organizations?

Thanks for sharing your experience, we have a lot of growth to do to protect our nurses from WAG in the PACU.

Hi Megan, yes the National Association has a Position Statement on WAG. I would recommend contacting them for EBP projects.
