Final Fantasy VII: Remake (Wikipedia):
Final Fantasy VII Remake[b] is an action role-playing game by Square Enix and released for PlayStation 4 in April 2020. An enhanced version, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade,[c] was released for PlayStation 5 and Windows in 2021.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is the first in a planned trilogy of games remaking the 1997 PlayStation game Final Fantasy VII. Set in the dystopian cyberpunk metropolis of Midgar, players control the mercenary Cloud Strife. He joins AVALANCHE, an eco-terrorist group trying to stop the powerful megacorporation Shinra from using the planet's life essence as an energy source. The gameplay combines real-time action with role-playing elements.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix, scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024.
It is a sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020), and the second in a planned trilogy of games remaking the 1997 PlayStation game Final Fantasy VII. As with its predecessor, the gameplay will combine real-time action with strategic and role-playing elements. Set immediately after Remake's events, players will control the mercenary Cloud Strife and a party of characters principally comprising the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE, who band together to embark on a journey across the Planet to prevent the megacorporation Shinra from exploiting its life essence, the Lifestream, as an energy source, and to defeat their former elite soldier Sephiroth, who intends on becoming one with the Planet to achieve greater power.
Remake was positioned as the start of a series of standalone game recreating FFVII's overall narrative, though it remained unconfirmed how many games would be used to tell the full story. The game entered production in November 2019 prior to Remake's release, and was announced in June 2022. Most of the lead staff returned after the previous game, with the only difference happening in positions such as Tetsuya Nomura who returns as creative director instead of director, and Naoki Hamaguchi and Motomu Toriyama who returns as directors instead of co-directors.

Wow. I played through this game when it first came out and it was completely lost on me what the whispers were doing as far as diverging from the original plot. This was very helpful.

Bought the game months ago when it was on sale and never touched it. Probs will play it soon because this video was fun to watch! Nice touch on the "supposed to happen in the original game" comments because I've never played FF7. Different from the usual AE content but still entertaining. Keep it up!!

Just a suggestion, try normalizing your narration/sound effect audio. Your narration was a bit quiet but some cutaways and sound effects were very loud by comparison.

[OG spoilers in the video and in the “read more” of my comment] Best recap I’ve seen so far. I’ve been trying to find one to show my friend before rebirth comes out, because she doesn’t remember a lot of remake. The only thing is, she’s never played the original or has seen any spoilers so I don’t want her to know about Zack or Aerith dying. Maybe I’ll just try to skip those parts when I show her but it’d be nice to have a recap that is spoiler free for new fans
