If the IA full lap times required the same optimisation in every corner that an A license gold does, the route would be impossible in RTA.
the main reason i stopped playing 1 was i'd played it on ps3 and the problem was every time a loading screen poped up it would reset my controller to digital i can't really without analog and the worst of all on ps3 loads are so fast you can't reset it before the race starts gt4 i'd stopped because of geting so far and really couldn't beat it gt5 i'd was busy playing lbp/2/k/m/3/v i think you get it

Playing GT4 with high resolution graphics and AA is sooooo good.
hi, i just did it here in emulation, licences without any bonus won + first toyota supra 3.0 turbo for sunday cup, bought some gear for push it to 300+HP for clubman cup, got this supra to +500HP for the 3rd cup and won the chaser, did some settings on it cuz otherwise it was a fkin wood to drive almost not turning....after this little settings i won the last cup with it....licences30mins+all 4 cups 2hours = 2h30 "speed" run ....i lost some time by failing an improvment gear on the supra lost like around 10/15mins ^^ ho i forgot to say i played with a game controller "thrustmaster analog 2" idk with what you played but your directions and accelerations seem extremly accurate maybe you play with a wheel driving ? i guess yes cuz when you decelerate/maintain the acceleration not too heavy you just can't do this with a gamepad you stop to accelerate or accelerate, in best case you try to maintain the actual speed by pushing the button alot of time quickly but you still see and hear the stop&start "acceleration" :/ ^^^ anyway thx for the motivation to do it in around 2h xd
For a 1997 game, this was the most realistic racing game ever made. But Gran Turismo 2 took it to a whole new level with over 600 cars, 27 tracks, and improved physics.
You could probably get significantly better lap times with MT. I would really like to see a speedrun with proper driving techniques (i.e no bouncing off walls and other cars)
I think he could complete the run faster with MT, and I think it would still be a speedrun if he avoids unfair exploits like bouncing off walls and cars. It's just a speedrun with an added condition to make it more aligned with the spirit of the game
cars in gt2 have more polygons but the resolution is the same 320x212 which is why it can appear to look more pixelated. ff9 battle models look a lot less nice and clean than ff8's because the low resolution struggles with the mass of detail. GT2 looks amazing on an emu that renders it in a higher resolution

Yeah. Being Mid Engine Rear Wheel Drive is pretty big since I think it was the NSX vehicles were the only one that had it on GT1. All Wheel Drive is OP on GT1 and GT2 but if you know how to control them, MR cars can be the best. Also, that GTO/3000GT Twin Turbo is scary being like the second most powerful car in the game (fully modified of course) only behind the R33 Skyline GTR (again, fully modified).

You should check out GT2. It has way more cars and tracks and way better physics.

As well as not having full throttle, if you can time the revs right, at the start you can get a better launch, but damn hard. But ya know
