Dude, I can 100% relate to the 30-minutes-after-twin-toddlers-wake-up-CHAOS. I loved watching this video, and being able to connect as a photographer & twin dad.
This video is one of the reasons I love your channel. You don’t only cover the big popular stuff. This looks so cool, and great to see you’re passing on the travel bug to the twins. Travel shrinks the world!
Well I haven’t been going to big bear since I was 17 years old for 12 years now in December of 2022 this year it will be 13 years since I been been to Big Bear!
Ah, Big Bear. Being a Midwesterner, I've only been to California twice. The first time, in 1997, was with my mountain biking buddies and one of our stops was Big Bear. That was a memorable trip. Not so much the mountain biking at Snow Summit. But for the fact that we went biking one afternoon on the north side of the lake. Then we got lost. Then it got dark and unfortunately we didnt have lights. Using what moonlight there was shining down on the dirt fire roads gave us barley enough light to make out the edges of the road. Then we started to hear "sounds". We hoped they weren't bears. We were relieved when we finally made it back to main highway near Fawnskin and road back to our vehicle. That was quite an experience!
We loved you and your family. We miss you. You offer beautiful and interesting things that benefit tourism I hope you will visit some cities that do not have visits like Paso Robles And Bakersfield I would like you to talk about the tourist places there Thanks a lot
Wow, they have upgraded the ride. Last time I went on that ride was in the early 90’s. Miss Big Bear! Jenks lake is a great place too, not to far away.
Keep up the family trips, I’ve got two under 3 and these are inspirational. Not a lot of travel TH-camrs with toddlers so sometimes sample itineraries are too much for little kids. Thanks for sharing, hope your future trips are a hoot!
That looked like a fantastic weekend! You'll never forget memories traveling with your kids. I live about a mile from the Munger Moss in Lebanon, Missouri on Route 66 and I drove West on 66 to the Santa Monica pier in the summer of 2020 with my wife and 2yo and 10yo daughters after seeing your Route 66 video back then (when it only had a few thousand views). That was an epic road trip I'll never forget. It's good to see your trips continuing with the next generation!
That was fun;) I haven’t seen Big Bear since I was in high school camping w/ my fam (30 years ago) . Thanks for sharing your little fam adventure. What a blessing.
Great video, thank you! I’ve been to Big Bear Lake many times for trout fishing but not for a long time. Our favorite spot was from the dock at Gray’s Landing on the north shore, now gone. Can you fish from the pier in Boulder Bay? The alpine coaster slide isn’t my thing but looked fun. Thanks for buying the video so we could experience the thrill. I do not miss the twisty drive on highway 330/18!
Thanks. Live in So Cal 35 years snd never been to big bear until last year. Loved it. Thanks for some suggestions of things to do snd places to eat. All things I didn’t do when I was there. Except that sunset photo spot. That’s an epic spot
Great video!! Big Bear has changed a lot in the last few years. Zoo is fun and lots of good restaurant choices. And omg, your llittlies are so adorable!!!!
Man, the kids are walking already. Time flies. Excellent video I went on the coaster myself but they didn't have the camera installed on them at the time, had to film with the gopro
Glad you guys had fun. It is interesting that Amy's vegetarian and you're not. It's the same with my wife, Karen, and myself. Quite the view of the lake from Castle Rock.
Thanks! Yep, she has been a vegetarian for like 10 years now. It is not always easy to find a spot for both of us but luckily she isn't too picky when there are only a few options
Great coverage of big bear and nice to see the whole family traveling. You need a campervan/RV with those little ones. Makes traveling much easier. Love to see the family do the 395.
Love your channel, I watch it for hike ideas whenever I head up to see my dad in Oregon. Keep up the great work! Lived in Big Bear for 25 years, great place, still have a place there and get up when I can. Castle Rock is my favorite hike, but my terrible knees yell at me going back down. The view from the rock can't be beat! If you head up there again, the Grizzly Manor is the best breakfast place on the hill, but it can be a bit of a wait if you don't get there early.
Wow! I follow Jackie and Shadow on TH-cam….two beautiful bald eagles….the live cam of their nest is somewhere near where u went hiking….almost the exact same view of the lake !
I'm not sure if it's still the case, but in the 1980s the shi cabins price were about half the ski season prices, especially by the week. Great base to explore the San B'rdo mtns. That observatory is a solar observatory. I believe it's owned by Cal Tech. For a breathtaking view, go east of Big Bear lake past the sometimes dry Baldwin Lake where there's a road that winds down to the Mojave desert. From the top of that road is an impressive view of the Great Basin.
Thankyou I have really enjoyed all your fun informative videos. My husband and I are traveling to the US in 2 weeks and have a great list of fun places to visit. We live in New Zealand and have family in California so can’t wait to get there.
Beautiful pics as always even if they were before this particular trip. I was amazed at how not-populated it was for you. I made the mistake of going up on July 4th weekend. Wouldn't recommend that for anyone. Traffic was a nightmare!
Wonderful, informative, and scenic video as always. California has some of the most incredible natural scenery, and you always capture the best views. Really want to see Big Bear on my next trip out there!
I've enjoyed your channel for a long time, and really enjoy the family travel posts. Even though ours our teenagers, traveling with kids of any age involves similar requirements (pizza, ice cream, structured activities that are highlights). Keep them coming!
Wow! I was wondering lately what's been up with the twins since you first dropped the bomb a couple years (?) ago so amazing to see them zooming around now! Great video, functions as a tour video and a family video. I remember going here as a kid, although only a few times and only in winter. Wish I had gone there in summer though as it looks pretty great. Thanks for another great video.
This was probably THE most relateable toddler vlog I have EVER seen. Haha. Been there done that. Granted not with twins. But two separated by only 2 years haha
Really enjoyed this video. We own a timeshare at Lagonita and have been going there annually for the past 20 years. Firerock and Saucy Mama's are two of our favorite places to eat. Next time you are there, try out Tropicalli for Poke!
The coaster ride looks like a blast! The kids are getting big. My niece’s twins are almost six. Spent a few weeks with them in the fall - exhausting 😂😂🤣
Awesome video! Your video formats are always so nice with the establishing shots/footage and the voiceovers to go with the vlogging, really enjoy watching. Feel like they should probably serve that burger at 13:45 on a plate instead of a wooden block though with that yolk haha
Thanks again for such great video coverage of yet another place I've never been (but hope to someday.) I really appreciate all the detail, especially how much things cost. Keep up the good work! :)Paula
Guys, you videos and advices are really awesome. What baby carrier or toddler carrier do you recommend, I have a 2 yrs daughter and I would like to hike and explore with me.
Fun! That coaster looks really cool! Wish they had a raw footage option for you haha. We definitely want to check those spots out! Its been so hard to book a campsite site up there for our van hopefully we can book a spot this year 🤞
oh that new ride looks fun, do you actually need the brakes, seems like it is on rail instead of the old one where you are on concrete tub? that video is overpriced probably cheaper to just mount a gopro or a insta360 on yourself. Definitely taking one for the team there. Go kayak during the summer with the kids.
PLEASE READ - Love all of your videos & like them each time but I have one th ing I need to tell you - I saw this in 3 or 4 vids, PLEASE do not let the twins eat directly off a table. If you have ever worked in a restaurant you will know what a table rag looks like, it is never washed on the day they use it and everything is wiped down with it - I do not want them to get sick. They are the cutest and congrats for that. Thanks much, Michael
Thanks for the comment. We always wipe it down with our own supplies before letting them eat off it for sure. Good reminder though! We have started to use plastic plates but haven't figured out how to keep them on the table yet haha
Its scary watching you guys out of breath going up a steep hill with a baby on your back. Then you put the kids down who can barely walk, with wild animals all around, then the guy leaves the wife and kids by themselves so he can climb a pile of rocks. The he runs down the hill with the kid on his back, holding a damn camera in front of him, looking straight at the camera lens as he runs down.
It's been 20 years since I've been to Big Bear, your vlog has me inspired to return.
Dude, I can 100% relate to the 30-minutes-after-twin-toddlers-wake-up-CHAOS. I loved watching this video, and being able to connect as a photographer & twin dad.
Thanks for the comment! Glad to meet another twin dad, it is a crazy adventure that many people wouldn’t understand 😂
Fond memories of Big bear from 40 years ago. But I can’t imagine doing it with toddlers! You (and especially your wife) are a better man than I…!
Big Bear. Nothing but good memories.
This video is one of the reasons I love your channel. You don’t only cover the big popular stuff. This looks so cool, and great to see you’re passing on the travel bug to the twins. Travel shrinks the world!
Really appreciate you watching it and the comment. Traveling with twins is hard haha but we are making the most of it!
Well I haven’t been going to big bear since I was 17 years old for 12 years now in December of 2022 this year it will be 13 years since I been been to Big Bear!
Big Bear can definitely be done in a day! My favorite restaurant from there was Barnstorm.
I will have to try that next time!
Ah, Big Bear. Being a Midwesterner, I've only been to California twice. The first time, in 1997, was with my mountain biking buddies and one of our stops was Big Bear. That was a memorable trip. I get nausea going up but its worth it every time!
We loved you and your family. We miss you. You offer beautiful and interesting things that benefit tourism
I hope you will visit some cities that do not have visits like
Paso Robles
And
Bakersfield
I would like you to talk about the tourist places there
Thanks a lot
Traveling with toddlers! You are a saint.
Sweetest family ever!
Exactly what I was looking for. Want to go with a toddler

I moved from California to Arizona and you make me miss what California has to offer
Awesome, kids are adorable
Twins are growing so fast.. enjoy them while they are small..
Wow they grow up fast! You have beautiful family, congratulations.
You are so kind!
The water in Big Bear lake is 8'3" higher than it was when you recorded this! You are so blessed to have such a beautiful family, congratulations
Your twins are adorable...
Loved seeing Big Bear again... It's been years since I was up there.
I love this video because big bear is my home 🙏🏼
Those bagels looked awesome 🤤
It's a great spot before a hike for sure
Awesome memories. I remember mine when I was that age with my parents. 🥰💖
Going to Big Bear now. Thanks
Nice, I did a nice little day trip with my dad and my two toddlers as well, can confirm that pizza is amazing.
You’re got it ALL! A beautiful sweet family and a awesome way to make a living! Great video! I haven’t been to Big Bear in Years.
Wow, they have upgraded the ride. Last time I went on that ride was in the early 90’s. Miss Big Bear!
Jenks lake is a great place too, not to far away.
Awesome trip!!
Thanks!

That Mountain Ride looks kind of cool to do....as well as the hikes.
That was fun;) I haven’t seen Big Bear since I was in high school camping w/ my fam (30 years ago) . Thanks for sharing your little fam adventure. What a blessing.
The family trip videos are awesome mix. Helps with ideas on what to do with my little ones.
Coaster video totally worth the purchase!
Great video, thank you!

Man, the kids are walking already. Time flies. Excellent video I went on the coaster myself but they didn't have the camera installed on them at the time, had to film with the gopro
I love these outings and ideas with kids. Having 2 myself it gives me an idea of how to prep and where to go because of your videos. Thanks as always!
Glad you guys had fun.
It is interesting that Amy's vegetarian and you're not. It's the same with my wife, Karen, and myself.
Quite the view of the lake from Castle Rock.

I ALWAYS DO CASTLE ROCK THEN HEAD TO HORTENCIAS AT THE CLIFFHANGER FOR THE AMAZING VIEWS AND DRINKS
Will have to check that out next time!
What a beautiful area Big Bear is :)
What a workout! Have you thought about using hiking poles Amy when rucking the babies for balance etc.
entertaining, duh, kids are so funny tbh, kinda the new content addition to the channel ngl

Cute family
On the roller coaster the GO 2 on your hat would have been a cool camera view.
Nice video! Thanks or sharing. 😄

Glad it was worth it!

How about Idyllwild?
This was probably THE most relateable toddler vlog I have EVER seen. Haha. Been there done that. Granted not with twins. But two separated by only 2 years haha
Awesome thanks great video👍👍💯
Could you do another video on downtown Riverside? There is going a Chicano museum opening, Arcade Roasters downtown to name a few things.

Have you ever done a family dude ranch?
Start doing these videos again!!!???
Go to Norman Oklahoma.

What baby backpack is that? They look way better than the 2 I've tried. Anyone know?
We use the Osprey Poco backpacks
Leave the babies with pops!
I didn’t get to go to fire rock last time the wait was like 2 hours 😭
Oh bummer, it is a fun spot for sure but that is a long wait
@@californiathroughmylens yeah every time it snows big bear everyone goes up there and it’s crazy busy!
This last winter I recently discovered the back country in Holcomb valley!
What camera that u use for recorded this.
I liked because your wife is vegetarian and I am eco-friendly guy too

I'm sure you do but I just had to say it so I would feel OK. LOL. Thanks
You have a beautiful family.
Where did you stay? I listened to the video three times and still didn’t get it.
It was called the Lagonita Lodge in Big Bear
Supermom...
Agree 100%
The pizza taste like awful, saucy mamas❤🤮🤢
