    Loved this reaction ..Madonna us as much a visual performance artist as she is the musical artist ..and as she gained more and more creative control in her career the visuals,the messages,the themes,and the subject matter were performed and delivered in more and more interesting ways particularly in her videography and on her tours .
    I'd love you to explore some more of her work ..the controversy often overshadowed the message she was portraying ..
    I'd recommend Oh Father ,Like A Prayer ,Express Yourself,Bad Girl,God Control,Bedtime Story,And the two parter video to Take A Bow and You'll See...its a rabbit hole worth exploring ...
    Incidentally later in her career she played with the idea of Papas not preaching with reference to womens rights,the patriarchy and religion in her visuals ..
    Great dynamic between the two of you ..

    Brenda always seems to say what i think when i watch the videos as well. Just when i thought Madonna sounds really good and passionate on this, you stop the video to point out her vocals :D I like your thoughtful reactions so much. Great channel. So likeable, you both.

    Madonna's Bad Girl is the most cinematic video of her entire career, I think. Directed by David Fincher, amazing story line.

    Back then, schools did have sex education classes starting in 5/6 grade, but they really didn't put too much emphasize on using contraception until the Aids epidemic hit. If you think about it, it was only a generation before that they even had birth control pills. But, yes, Madonna has a great voice. It's unique, and even though her songs and style of music change throughout her career, you always know her voice. She doesn't sound like anybody else. Listen to Rescue Me, to hear her in her lower register. She sounds so good!!! A few other songs to review are Crazy For You, Live To Tell, This Used To Be My Playground, Like A Prayer, and I Remember.

    So nice this analysis from the video. Madonna's songs are always different, some with special message, some just a dancing message, but it's nice her job. This video is nice, right and special. Nice lady, nice girl. Gongrats. Fernando Sosa, 56, Guatemala. Always Madonna's super fan.

    I have always been a huge fan of Madonna and this was a pivotal and exciting time to watch. I remember waiting in anticipation for the video to be played on MTV. The transformation of her appearance was also so radical and she was always ahead of the times. I was lucky enough to go to the Who’s That Girl tour live which you should also view.

    People have to remember , when someone gets pregnant, married or not, kids or not , what age, whatever situation, the baby is coming , so feelings, distress, disappointment all have to be put on the back burner in 9 months …

  • @ImmortalBroken
    @ImmortalBroken ปีที่แล้ว

    It was very controversial at the time, managing to anger people on totally opposite sides of the issue. One side was mad thinking she was taking an anti-abortion stance because she sang about keeping the baby, and the other thought she was encouraging girls to have premarital sex. Madonna was just telling a real story.

      @@OurAnxiousAdventures Hi again, I don't want to be annoying but I honestly see just the "Movie Reviews" folder on your playlist. You should have someone with a different account check it just to make sure everybody else sees your playlists. If they're all really there then I apologize in advance. On my end, I only see Movie Reviews with 2 vids in it. So I checked if there's anything wrong with my account, everything seems normal, I also checked the other TH-camrs I follow and I see their playlists, so Idk. Since I have free time, I will be checking out the movies you guys reacted to. Thank you again.

    It was a good guess, but this had nothing to do with Grease at all, this was purely a social statement at a time when the moral majority were running the country and teen pregnancy was not being addressed.

      @@OurAnxiousAdventures NO! Actually the Grease connection isn't totally wrong. Grease was a 70's movie set in the 50's a bout teenagers. Madonna's "True blue", the album "papa don't preach" comes from is themed after 50's teenage nostalgia. So yes, your daughter made a GREAT observation.
