That briefing room tools looks like a bit another tool for DCS, having those tools integrated and working alongside could be something fabulous when it comes to mission creation.

Just like everyone else, I am patiently waiting for the F-4E. Big thanks for the video links you shared for the Phantom. That should be a nice complement to my flight manual reading. I like that you mentionned the other modules many of us are looking forward to. I can't wait to get my hands on the Kola Peninsula map for example. I had a bit of a chuckle when you talked about the briefing room for the supercarrier module. I think we were really looking forward to it when the supercarrier and the Persian Gulf map modules were "brand new"... a long time ago, an eternity ago, it seems.

The fact that Ed are doing a free map for warbirds is a huge deal warbirds is such a small market this shows missive commitment to their current players

Forgot the Name of the TH-camr who mentioned it first ( if you see this I'm sorry I forgot it) But they should make a WWII FC3 style aircraft pack where they atleast add a bunch of WWII aircraft we don't have FF's of so far and so on.
ED did actually answer that, they said FC3 fidelity is close enough to full fidelity that it’s still a huge investment in time and not a lot is saved, so it does not make sense to do for them, sadly. Tbh I would really like to see all the FC3 planes be upgradable to full fidelity
@@GoldenGnu So atleast we're getting a Mig-29A soon ish atleast. so one of them is comming to us as FF module. but I'd still take a Semi-Fidelity cockpit. and I do think it would be worth their effort. don't need the FC3's to be 100% accurate to reality at all. just accurate enough that you won't get bored of them and don't have too remember everything on your keyboard :P

It's true. I frequent the DCS forums. DCS has stated that they won't be making any more FC3 modules. Their future plans for that is going to be MAC - Modern Air Combat. Its going to be a separate game that will come bundled with simplified aircraft.
I think some free WW2 access is a good idea. I know i would like to try it. But my focus i the F16. To try WW2, you are required to buy a map and the aircraft. It's just too much money to risk.
I think offering a full fidelity ww2 armed aircraft for free would be a good idea maybe they could make the p-47 for free the work is already done and it would go with the free marianas map
Winter 2024 ends March 19th. Less than 2 weeks. I almost don’t even want to remind Hearblur for fear that this realization may push it further into deep spring. Apart from the Phantom II, the MiG-23MLA, Afghanistan, Kola are what I’m most looking forward to. I’m also very excited about the Bo-105 but I really hope they add the option for the “high skid” option. For those unaware, the high skids are the taller angled skids introduced by the Luftwaffe to accommodate weaponry and these skids are very popular amongst US 105’s because they make cargo loading much easier and allow the aircraft to land on more uneven ground. They also completely changed the look of the helicopter into a much sleeker and aggressive looking along with the wire cutters. I’m hoping that makes it in.
I can’t wait for Soviet/Afghan air war possibilities.
It would be a GREAT idea for a WW2 free armed aircraft of some sort. Maybe a Zero? F4F? Something like early WW2.
I’m also waiting for the F4-U, but I don’t foresee it being released until 2025
You know - when I pre-order a product from ED, I already expect the release to be late to the point that I forget I made the purchase in the first place.
I get it sucks for the comunity when something isn't release that you're looking forward to - but I feel like it wouldn't hurt to taper expectations.
These aircraft are complex and the team is small. The reasoning for my pre-order is for the jet - yes, but moreso to support ED and Heatblur together. Even though I haven't recieved the product the purchase was intended for - I still feel rewarded making the purchase; for me, it's more an investment to everything else ED and Heatblur has provided to us thus far.
Aye, the delays aint great and mb worthy of criticism, but you can also literally ask HB devs on the discord what their current state/confidence is, and they usually give out an answer. Did that many times myself, theyre chill people. Thats honestly more communication than you get with most devs.
And if you follow the development, you see that many of the delays likely come from HB adding more features and taking tons of suggestions in. Those delays often result in a more polished and better product than originally promised.
The kinda drama that the DCS exposed guy tried to make of all that is just kinda absurd.
I predicted 6 months after the SE. It's been 10.

I really really really want a Dauntless some day. Corsair, Hellcat and WWII Marianas are a good direction towards it. I am one of the people who prefer Il2 for WWII, but I'd totally grab at least one WWII Pacific plane in DCS
I really think ED needs to focus on more "non full fidelity" modules like FC3 to draw in new players. FC3 modules are very easy to learn and are cheap to purchase.
I've never tried because I like it as hardcore as possible but can't you customize and or remove the simulation aspects of the planes and gameplay?

Kola is going to be a great map with lots of potential for PVP missions.
But will it sell in large enough numbers to become a viable MP map like Syria and PG. I hope so but the lack of success with Falklands and Sinai have me feeling weary.

For WW2, we need the TF51D to have a backseat like in the real thing. It will help a lot of people who don’t have experience in tail draggers. We have the trail period to test warbirds so I don’t think we get a free Su25T like warbird with weapons ability.
Seems like DCS already has something like that (briefing Room), I am more or less at a standstill waiting for more good stuff to come our way.
Im sorry but It's crazy the beiefing room is actually taking this long, they must have just 1 guy who works on it every now and then when he feels like it once a month.

Non controllable assets should be free to prevent separation of the fan base. People shouldnt have to pay for things that should have been in the game for years. Boats and truck assets are too easy to make to even justify them not there yet.

It's always baffeled me why the P-51 isn't the free module. It's digital combat simulator & your free module has no operable guns? Surely the development has been paid off by now & i doubt the current sales would be that huge compared the appeal of having it accessible for new players to try. Especially now with ww2 marianas. From a bussiness perspective alone it seems would only be a win for them.
They're not gonna give free ww2 plane. They won't even make the WW2 assets packs free with a bought ww2 aircraft or map.

The mod has been abandoned as they are working on an a paid version the mod still works but there will be no updates for unless somebody gets the source code

Typical. ED puts all efforts in modern jets and going to ridiculous levels of fidelity to appease ex-pilots while totally ignoring older planes and basic functionality items such as the pathetic ATC which has not improved an iota for years and years.
