Story 1, her being bi has nothing to do with the divorce, it's because she was pushing for a open relationship that op do not want nor consents to under any circumstances, and she has been nothing but a ahole about it, And her cheating just proved she was nothing but a selfish ahole, Seriously i say this all the time it doesn't matter what gender identity or orientation you are, do not treat your innocent partner horribly under any circumstances, and she did just that, Even if she was straight she still would have been a ahole, for trying to force a open relationship on op and cheating on him., Story 2, hell naw even i wouldn't even wanted him back after that shit, and then that afterwards?!? nope i would find a lawyer, pack all my important documents and shit, and him and his father can go straight to hell, op deserves better then that and she needs to realize she doesn't need someone like him.
Last story: OPs has done well with her adopted daughter. Did she drop the ball with the stuffy,yes. It's not the end of the world. She's working it out with her daughter. OP mentioned that they love baking together. I think that would be a great thing to expand on. Maybe a cookbook with a picture of their 1st attempt at a recipe. Then do the recipe again in 2 yrs and add a picture of that one.

Enough of the time it's because they already have someone they want to cheat with and want to make it "legal". Other times it's an often misguided way to spice up the relationship. You've definitely hit the nail on the head that it is something that needs to be ironed out before marriage. Being in that sort of relationship requires openess, honesty and transparency, and that requires communicating with your partner(s) because you not only need informed consent, but also to ensure that nobody is likely to get hurt, and what to do if someone does get hurt. It's not for most partnerships
It completely is. People just put labels on taboo things and then act like you're the weirdo for not being accepting of it. Open marriage may as well be an oxymoron. People used to "swing" back in the day, now they want whole ahh separate partners on the side. Ridiculous, don't even get me started on open relationships, just "friends with benefits" with extra steps. But nah, its really a new thing. Surrrreeee.
I feel the child in the 3rd story may suffer from imposter syndrome. She mentally logs (not maliciously) the moments she isn't given something but the bio kids do. While she has her own traditions with her adoptive mom, she sees the moments where she isn't included as proof of her being the odd one out. The one who "isn't really her kid". That is heartbreaking to consider, and I can fathom why she takes such moments so hard. I hope she sees and feels fully and throughly as her adoptive Mom's actual true daughter one day, where such feelings don't haunt her.
3rd story i fear OP might be overcompensating if anything, in order to help the youngest feel accepted, and it might get in the way of her relationship with her older daughter if she's passing down family heirlooms to only the youngest daughter ro make her feel more accepted. Im not saying that's definitely what's happening but I wonder if the grandma was consulted before she gave the heirloom to the adopted daughter over her biological one, who was older and may have more of a claim to it traditionally. In this scenario it's impossible to not be TA cause either way somebody will be hurt so I think OP should have given it to them both, to share, and asked them to wear it to their engagement or some other event and ensure it gets passed down the generations that way.
Because she can't magically age one by 18 years. It's not the stuffie that's the point. She has other stuffies. It's the youngest feeling like an outsider because she's adopted. She can buy her another stuffie -and she did- but she can't magically go back in time and give birth to her.
