It hurts the rockets lost the final regular season game against these spurs in 93 at San Antonio, but the tipped in by the spurs is what made them go to overtime and beat the rockets.
@MDBball I think this game was April 10, 1993 which seems to be in line with your title except Barkley won the MVP in 1993, not Hakeem. Hakeem won it 1994 even though he should’ve also won it in 1993.
DJ which is why I kind of put it in quotation marks to indicate that Hakeem could have easily won the mvp award in 1993 as well especially with how the Rockets performed in the second half of the season
@@MDBBall Yeah. Same thing I always preach. Hakeem should’ve gotten it over Barkley as he was the only player that year to amass 2000 points and 1000 rebounds. The cherries on top were he lead the league in blocks, and was also top ten in FG% and steals. Probably the only player to be top 10 in 5 categories. Also, Suns were 50+ win team 4 straight seasons before Barkley arrived and reached Western Conference Finals twice and were one KJ hamstring away from making it to the NBA Finals. If Barkley was an MVP, joining that team, he should’ve easily won the finals.
