    Very well presented.

Very well presented sir. BUT - the Fiesta is a legend and has always been an affordable car for ordinary folks. SUVs aren't - they're horrible and an invented idea of what companies think people want. New Ford Capri anyone? Ford have so lost their way.

Getting a Puma ST Line X in either 125 or 155 bhp. Is the 125 adequate ? Has anyone been disappointed with the 125 and wished they'd gone for the 155 ?

Yes, Puma is narrower over the mirrors, but 70mm wider over the body work. Used to put my Fiesta in garage, Puma will just fit, but can't open the door wide enough to get out!

The Ford Puma Is better looking than the outgoing Fiesta 😊

I recently acquired a pre-facelift Puma ST (powershift) having previously had a Mk. 8.5 Fiesta ST. In terms of pure driving dynamics (and straight line performance) the Fiesta was superior, but the opportunities for exploiting that performance on real roads was practically non-existent, and for everyday duties 90% of the time the Puma is a better proposition. It is still a very good drive (probably best in its class if you look at comparison reviews with its logical competitors), and it is definitely more practical. One caveat, as mentioned by other commentators - the Puma is bigger in every dimension than the Fiesta excluding width across the mirrors. That said it is still a very wieldy car, and really not that big.

Actual dimensions are not the same as perceived dimensions.
The reason why people buy small cars is because they want small cars. And, you know for a fact, every generation of a car is bigger than the one that came before. I.e. mark 1 Fiesta L 3565mm, W 1567mm, H 1360mm. 62cm shorter, 37cm narrower and 17 cm shorter than the now smallest car in Ford's lineup.
So, people should rightly be worried about size.

Never in my life will I drive a SUV. Nobody wants one, manufacturers just think we do so they make nothing but SUV's, forcing people to buy them and then thinking that's what people want. Put the Fiesta and Focus back into production, I don't mind they will eventually become full EV's. A hatchback or estate is better then an SUV in every single way

Actually people want suvs, we don't as car enthusiast but most customers who need a car to go from A to B prefer sitting higher. They feel more safe and in control, easier to get in and out. Plus it's more appealing in our society to have a bigger car, even if it's a cheap chinese knock off. Manifacturers can have a bigger margin charging more and regular customers will feel great knowing they have an expensive car. As much as I hate it too, it makes sense for most people.

Labels aside, I really don’t think the Puma is an SUV. It’s really more like a compact 4 door coupe. It’s only 2 1/2 inches taller than the Fiesta, while being wider (in the body) and longer, so it hardly has SUV proportions, nor does it have 4 wheel drive, or weigh 2 tons. It is reasonably economical, and is decent to drive. So I think in some respects it defies attempts to pigeonhole it into a particular category. Let’s not forget that while the original Puma was admittedly much smaller than the current generation, so was the Mk. 4 / 5 Fiesta (on which it was based) much smaller than the most recent Mk. 8 / 8.5 Fiesta.

It’s very reasonable. I’m 1,82m (5”11 I think) and I can sit on the back of the car in my driving position without feeling claustrophobic . Not as bad as some say in my opinion…

It’s weird at first but you get used to it. Anyway even having a new Puma, i still think that that’s the weirdest decision they made but no big problem when you get used

Puma has ecoboost with a chain already. It was a chain on the pre-facelift version as well.

The oil pump still is a rubber belt, so still blocks the oil pick-up.

Drive one and you will probably change your mind. You can have a huge amount of driving fun on the new Puma too.
