Bailey, I watch no baseball; never have. I watch lots of you, though, even though I don't get all of it. You do a great job of distilling what is interesting about the sport, and you do so with sense, dignity, and curiosity (a combination that is depressingly rare in the content creation age). Taking the opportunity of noticing this upload early to thank you for that, and your work in general. I hope it is rewarding financially and fulfilling professionally. This can be a fickle industry, and I hope you are allowed to stick with it for the long term.
@@jpbazzano3636 This is probably a longer answer than you were looking for; sorry about that. TL;DR: baseball is culturally alien to me. Didn't grow up in a country that cares about baseball and have no personal relationships with anyone who does. I have no investment in any teams or players, or even competitive outcomes. The one time I went to a live MLB game I enjoyed the anthropological novelty a great deal (the sporadic repetitive chanting and tannoy organ music, merch being so varied and ubiquitous, most people don't watch the game continuously and are often on their phones or talking to each other while checking in on the game every few, how static and languid outfielders can seem, all this and more was brand new to me and fascinating to see first hand) but the actual experience itself left me quite unmoved, so I don't think I'll go again or look for any streams of games. I watch Bailey and Jomboy and that's all the baseball media I consume. Recently started playing OOTP which is interesting but I don't even know what arbitration is so I doubt I'm doing anything realistic with my decision-making in what is otherwise supposed to be a simulator. Maybe it's useful to say that I care about baseball in the way that someone who is a huge kitchen knife enthusiast cares about a reality cooking show, which is not much at all but more than you would because there are knife-based analyses of the show on the internet.
The SeatGeek ad was legitimately one of the best ads I've seen in a yt video in a while, almost felt like it was a part of the video. Anything to not use ticketmaster, I guess.
Cool fact about Carter Jensen too is that he’s a KC kid. The Royals took him and Ben Kedrna in the same draft both from the KC metro. Both have been pleasant surprises
A big underrated name I’ve been excited about in the Cubs system is Frankie Scalzo Jr. Yet to allow an earned run in over 21 innings of AA pitching with a WHIP of .46 and an OPS against of .236! Watched him pitch in person last year at High A South Bend and he was easily the best pitcher for either team that night yet he isn’t in the Cubs top 30 on MLB pipeline. He also has a fantastic mustache, which is always a bonus
In Spanish the Z sounds like an English S. So Robert Calaz’ surname would be pronounced CAH-LAHS with the emphasis on the second syllable. The more you know… 🌈 Loved the video. Excited for the next OOPB. Keep it up.
As an LSU fan, I remember Michael Kennedy was a recent recruit we were hoping to sneak through the draft, but he ended up signing. We could have really used him this year, but I’m happy to see he’s doing well in the minors so far.
Del Castillo is a former teammate and battery mate of dbacks pitcher Slade Cecconi at the U of Miami. Del Castillo hopes to be the personal catcher of Cecconi if the latter becomes a front end level starter
Gotta love a Joe Rock mention, I was really happy to see him get out of the Rockies system and even happier to see him land with the Rays. Hoping the best for him!
appreciate the scouting, Bailey! Would like to echo what @superchaddi stated before. Your journalism is great and I enjoy hearing your thoughts on the game. 😊
I like that you chose Matthew Lugo as the Red Sox representative as he's not in the top 30 on pipeline, and Sox Prospects has him ranked at 50 in their most recent ranking. Red Sox have a lot of interesting prospects having big years so far, Kristian Campbell and Luis Perales not to mention Kyle Teel and Marcelo Mayer, but good to see some love for Lugo!
I figured Khristian Campbell would be the guy featured just because his batted ball numbers are insane but am more than happy Lugo finally breaking out is getting some love
@@averystanley7013Oh yeah he’s having an insane year, also not to mention he and Lugo both just got promoted to AA and AAA respectively, excited to see what Lugo can do in a ballpark like Worcester’s!
The best I've felt about myself in my life was me seeing the start of this video and going "huh, I wonder if he'll talk about Jaden Hamm" and then having it happen.
I've been playing an OOTP save as the A's doing "stats only" so basically all ratings are disabled. I even had speed and defense disabled for the first year before I caved and turned them back on because there just isn't enough defensive info shown and it's very unfair lol. Pretty funny that I see this video drop not that long after I decided to start my save, was definitely very interesting.
Do you have any videos where you go look back at guys you identified and see where they are now, like you do with your players you like/dislike, foolish 50, etc?
Bailey if you ever want more in depth Red Sox prospect talk, SoxProspects is the place to go. Even Jim Callis says he goes on there when he’s doing their top 30. Best Sox minor league coverage you’ll find
Yeah I thought it was. Bad trade on our end but Rock projected to be mid to back end rotation guy. Now that he's in Tampa he will be a top 15 guy in 4 years.
There’s a guy George(?) Klassen in the Phillies system who is destroying low A right now. Like under 0.75 ERA in 7 starts or something stupid like that
Oh so you apologize for the pronunciation of Calaz, but you’re over there saying “duh lee-on” instead of “day lay-own” without batting an eyelash you big goofball 😂
Bailey, I took you up on the SeatGeek offer and got those exact seats and it was a great deal but respectfully - you lied! That man stood all 9 innings and that woman turned out to be a Bobby Dalbec apologist!
Stats are lame. You should do an episode where you judge minor leaguers by aura, to see if stats or aura are a better predictor of major league success.
I definitely thought (and hoped) this was gonna be the next OOTP video
we are still waiting for it aren’t we

I'm in exact same boat. Youre a fine ambassador for your sport
Why don’t you watch baseball

Also the teacher comment is hilariously sad
"I promise this guy will sit down" killed me
Whoa whoa whoa, A's going over slot for Henry Bolte? OOTP led me to believe that was impossible
Please never end this series! Crazy idea to expand this: do it for Independent/College/International Leagues too
Carter Jensen is an OoTP legend every year for the last 3 games I’ve seen him become an 80 overall so many times
See Rockies, gotta click. Thank you Bailey
Cool fact about Carter Jensen too is that he’s a KC kid. The Royals took him and Ben Kedrna in the same draft both from the KC metro. Both have been pleasant surprises
Hold up I’m watching a church service rq I’ll watch this video after Bailey
Hope your service was good!
this is my sunday service
Amen 🙏🏽
Same, was worth the wait
Get your priorities straight my guy... Bailey first, religious dogma second

would love to see a retrospective of biggest statline scouting hits and misses of past seasons

Like the French town?
@@Speedster___, Calais? No. That’s pronounced with a long A and the S is silent. CA-LAY. Both As in Calaz make the AH sound as in call.

I’ve been craving some statline scouting for the last few weeks. You always know what I want. 5 stars

20:14 I can't tell if this screen hurts or supports my "Garrett Baumann is a diamond in the rough" narrative
Love this series. Always cool when you mention stat line scouting alums. How many guys from the first few videos have already made the majors?
10:20 “people want to go to fenway” lmao
Gotta love a Joe Rock mention, I was really happy to see him get out of the Rockies system and even happier to see him land with the Rays. Hoping the best for him!
It's amazing to me that noone has hired you as a scout.
Andrew Walters was a stud reliever for my OOTP Orioles

Termarr will be in the pirates lineup at some point in the future. I love me some termarr too.
I'm considering taking over my brother's fantasy team in the dynasty league he's in and videos like this are helpful.
This ia the content inlove from Foolish Baliey... always make notes in my phone for these guys for next year or stash them in my fantasy leagues

Great series Bailey
How is that SeatGeek ad better than most just regular videos?
I’d love to see you revisit past videos
That was the greatest Ad Read of all time
Lugo is in AAA now! Hopefully he can do well
Do you have any videos where you go look back at guys you identified and see where they are now, like you do with your players you like/dislike, foolish 50, etc?
the seatgeek code is saying it's invalid Mr. Baseball :(
OOTP next big star has got to be the next video

best ad read I’ve ever seen btw
Sticking to the theme, Lugo was committed to Miami
