My family & I have enjoyed Central Coffee Shop for years. Friendly & good. And we have been to Bangkok Thai too! Liked their beef & broccoli. We got the boat once cuz there were 6 of us.
We've never had a bad experience at that place. The staff is always so welcoming and the prices are great. I didn't even know you could get a boat at Bangkok, but next time we have a a group of people in town, we'll know what to do!

(Ceviche on Beach Drive used to be economical, but the food was Nutritious, lots of choices & Outstanding. We went there when it was on Central by Ponce de Leon Hotel. I am going to check it out.) Who doesn't love cheap eats! Tony likes adding spice to his curry as well. I can barely handle the spices it comes with.
Yeah, we've finally learned that it's best to just ask for the spice on the side and add it yourself. Because sometimes ordering "just a little" hot ends up way more than that 😅

Hi Heather. Three Daughters Brewery does a lot of sours. Overflow Brewing specializes in fruit beers, some of which are on the sweeter side and taste like a cross between a cider and a beer.

We passed by all these places while we were pumping up the local economy on our last visit. These places are much more in line with our normal choices and budget. We passed Bangkok Thai at least 5 times. I wish now I had looked in the window. Looks amazing inside.

@@Explorcation I had the most fun at Ford’s Garage. The wait staff were great. The Brick and Mortar had the best food on the trip. We were very casual and worn from a day of walking miles for the 400 Beach Seafood but they were very accommodating. We were waiting for Doc Fords and had drinks in hand but they had a burst water pipe just before we were seated so we wound up at Teak. So lucky to get a seat, awesome view and excellent service and food. We also had a meal at the Banyan Cafe between the Chihuly museum tour and the glass blowing exhibit. Just to name a few.
@@BobCarlson you made it to some great restaurants..and even a few we haven't been to yet. We like Ford's Garage a lot too..great food and a fun atmosphere. I am glad you got to experience Teak, you cant beat that downtown view!
First stop , Thai and ordering my favourite Dishes. I'm often making Penang Curry and Pad see ew here at home and $8.50 per meal was pretty good...Love ya work guys!
Not sure how you guys fit all this food and drinks in....not sure I could eat this much restaurant food all the time.....you seem to have a lot of leftover, including that Gyro! I might not have eaten breakfast the next day, but there you were again having French toast for breaky...LOL. Well done for getting it all in, but no wonder you skipped lunch the next day!
I Need to ask - Whats Grits?
We love to cook but our past efforts to make Thai food did not turn out great, so we feel fortunate to have a reasonable Thai place so close to home. That's great though that you are able to make good Penang Curry and Pad See Ew at home! Grits is basically ground boiled ground corn. Not much flavor to it by itself, but when covered in butter/cheese/etc... it can be pretty delicious!

Yeah we suck at cooking Thai food, so we feel so fortunate to have a good, reasonably priced Thai place so close to our home. The stromboli was really solid. We're glad we eventually found the place 😅

We stopped and ate at Angelo's when we visited. Always great portion sizes for the price!
We've never been able to eat all of our order at Angelos. The portions really are great for the price.
Can't say I blame you for skipping lunch - don't think I could have handled all that food in same day either! All the food looked great, although the panang curry and burrito appeal to me the most 🙂 Some pretty good value places, especially given how much it looked like you got for your money.
Yeah, after all the videos we've made you'd think we'd be better at predicting how much we can eat in a day. Yet, we almost never make it to all the food spots that we plan to 😆.

@@OurTravelPlace exactly! It is easier when we are exploring around where we live because we can take leftovers, but when we are outside of downtown we try not to over order since we know we have to eat it all LOL

You guys eat like college students, lol. Any healthy food options (organic or keto) in St. Pete?
Well John, when I (Skylar) was in college, I lived almost entirely off of ramen noodles and McDonalds $1 menu. So if if this is how college kids are eating these days, they got it good! 😅 In all seriousness though, we do cook 90% of our meals and generally keep those quite healthy, so that way we don't have to feel guilty when we do eat out and make some not so healthy choices. For organic food, St. Pete has Evos, Cider Press Cafe, and Love Food Central that I know of. Obviously neither is going to make a "Cheap Eats" video, but we have heard good things about all 3!

If you have any other recommendations in downtown St Pete that offer multiple regular menu meal items for under $10, we'd love to hear them!
Great video. That gyro was as big as your face it looked huge. We don't have Mexican food on this island and I miss it sooo much.
Yeah the Gyro is ridiculously huge. We normally split it and it fills us both up. Sadly our area doesn't have too much great Mexican food. either, but we are slowly discovering a few more really good spots. We home you are able to at least get the ingredients to cook some decent Mexican(ish) food at home!
