      @@CeziHD yeah it’s because of the color choice for the furniture. I have seen many colorful houses that look better than this one. Outside it looks like a university, inside it looks like a doll house. I guess everyone has their own taste.

      @@Os_-tw4ot when I picture maximalism I picture lots of objects, layers on layers. There were often spaces in the home bare . Perhaps this house falls in neither minimalist or maximalist but more so lavish. IMO

      considering the majority of the base colours is white, its not really maximalism. No, it’s not minimalism it’s just wacky. Maximalism rarely leaves so much white breathing space

      It's not exactly hexagons. It is a hexagonal cylinder. I'm pretty sure he does it out of convenience rather than ignorance. It is easier to say "aluminum cube" rather than "aluminum hexagonal cylinder" every time.

    I love how this house just made me want to actually have fun with decor rather than sticking to a category. That mix of patterns and colors I would have never thought would work but it does. Not for my home but when you walk in you can just feel how they had fun designing it. Love that !

      Me too, minimalism is nice but not realistic. I have pails in my laundry. I have groceries to keep. I have properties that may not be useful now but will be useful if the needs arise. I have objects which I love that may not have utilities. I can't live a minimalist life

    if they kept with the multicoloured theme throughout the whole house (bathrooms, kitchen, garden, etc.) it would've looked a lot better. i feel like some parts of the house are decorated completely differently.

      yeah there’s no harmony/consistency. Like the family brought their old furniture over to USA on a container ship and then wanted to change style to “colourful fun and modern” but keep the old stuff in and have a house that already has a strong aesthetic. So nothing matches and now they call it maximalist. I actually like maximalism and colour but that implies a lot more stuff and a maybe a common theme?

    Finally, one I love! I love that each space has its own personality and that it's not all white and boring. I hate the sterile all white and beige look that's so popular. Their use of color is just right and stunning. I feel each room SHOULD have its own personality. That zebra stone is incredible. While I would hate to have to clean this place, I love it!

      This still feels overly bright and sterile to me, with some tacky colors thrown in. I'd prefer an interior more towards Troye Sivan's recent house tour on this channel, more earthy warm colors, eclectic slightly vintage style and nice greenery outside.

    My jaw was on the floor through out the entire showing. (Sunny Florida is the perfect spot for this masterpiece) This home radiates happiness through the vibrant uplifting colors. It literally puts you into a transformative carefree state of mind. Absolutely beautiful!!! Architect and design has been a lifelong love of mine, this home is EVERYTHING! I was literally pausing every minute so I could see every tiny detail. It almost took my breath away, actually at times it did! Art at its finest.

    Unsolicited opinion from an interior design professor and a maximalist at heart. A 13 million dollar home should tell a story through its interiors. As any home should. This looks like an architect and the client did the design themselves rather than hiring a designer 👀👀👀 the home has beautiful elements but they don’t come together harmoniously. But hey if they like it that’s all that matters! And if I hear “transcend” used wrong one more time!

    Reminds me more of a modern take on art deco than true maximalist style. They've added so much personality and colour, but the bones are still very clean, white and minimalist. Interesting take, either way! Also, worked in architecture for years and this guy's descriptions are killing me 😅

    Reminds me of the Cosmo in Vegas. Very feminine design, something so rare with modern mansions. However, I felt that the interior design of the 2nd floor was disconnected from the 1st floor as the 2nd floor was more traditional.

    When he said it was inspired by African decor it totally clicked for me. While you would usually imagine strong primary colours and browns and golds , yet they used that inspiration but chose to use more pastel colours and a lot of white and silver. I really love it. At first it’s like wow that’s busy, but somehow it works . Very modern with so much mixed pattern and textures

    This might be the best real estate agent you've shown. The house is interesting and beautiful, but the way he talks about it makes it seem so much better. I don't know, just the first time I've noticed the seller in a good way. Most of the time they're awfully cringy or just ok and acceptable at their job.

    For years I thought it would be awesome to have a massive mansion. The more of these videos I see, the more pointless it seems...how do you make a house feel homey when it looks and feels like a resort? Styles like this don't seem like they would age well either, thus being even more unnecessarily extravagant and expensive.

      Yeah it's still far to clean, bright and impersonal, despite the owner's effort to make it more their own and not some white-grey minimalism. It's harder to make a mansion look cozy and personal though, but definitely not impossible.

    the thing that i like most about this house is the wallpapers, my personal style is very “one accent wall other walls solid color” but the wallpapers have so much design in them and yet they feel so light and minimalistic?? love it

    I'm honestly a Maximalist and love creating different spaces with color, quirk, patterns and textures, but I can't quite pinpoint why this isn't working for me. lol I feel like the whole house was inspired by IKEA bed sets. Love the architecture though.

    I’m south african, love colour, and even I find this a bit tacky. Like I don’t see any south african influence at all. It’s like an ostentatious minimalist house got vomited on with Marie-Antoinette x tourist gift shop 😹

    From the outside the home almost looks like an office building. The decorative style is all over the place from candy crush to African safari with both traditional and contemporary elements woven in. Very interesting and visually stimulating.

    I feel like this house isn't even meant to have people live in it. It's there to be used as the example of what every house should look like. Personalised, expressing the host's passions, having a whole personality on its own. I'd feel like I'm living inside someone's head. I'd feel like I need to respect it as if it was a church. So inspiring. The architect who designed it is probably a genius...

      so true. We used to put different carpet in every room....clashing bathroom wallpaper with color tile., etc. And, then we all got smacked on the back of our hands.

    For $13M I would expect a MUCH bigger lot! There is barely a backyard, almost nothing between you and the road, save the driveway and you're as close to your neighbors as houses in inner cities. Blech!

    I don't really like "modern" houses because they feel empty but this one changed my mind. The color is also tastefully chosen, not too much that it'll not make you dizzy. Some maximalist house is also usually "crowded" with things but this doesn't. One of my fave house on AD ❤

    I kept waiting for him to take a turn and show us the lobby and the ‘helpful’ staff at the reception desk. How could someone call “home” a space that looks like a generic office park dolled-up in FOREVER EASTER makeup....oof...my eyes hurt.
