@@yankee69ify- that's a very narrow viewpoint, especially when mainstream music doesn't have a lot of substance. The Beatles, talent aside, were at the right place at the right time. Just like the Stones, The Who, Zep ... all the big British bands from that period of time had talent like you wouldn't believe, but circumstances also helped them cement their music and personalities in history. Whether those indie bands are better or not doesn't matter, but playing the half time show is outdated criteria for being successful or having something artistically important to say.

I have only watched EP1, and not a Beatles "fan" so to say. I think all of us who are rock and roll fans either are Beatles fans (at least partly) or certainly appreciate their contributions to the genre. I am one of the appreciators.
I am 54 (almost 55) and IMO their music has always been part of life if you are at least as old or older than that. EP1 has had a profound impact me, so much so that I went out to the Apple Music Store and got all studio albums from the band and then promptly created a 75 song playlist of all songs that I either like or at some point have heard before... 75 - songs... that's the impact this band has had on music. Remember, I do not consider myself a fan and owned zero Beatles CDs prior. I did appreciate them more as solo artists than the Beatles as a whole and have a few songs by John, Paul and George in my music library prior to this, but not as a group.
The series is extremely interesting. Getting this behind the scenes, intimate look at IMO the most influential band of all time's creative processes is, by itself, a reason to watch. To then see how they interact, care about and help each other is also quite wonderful. Its as if you're there, inside the makeshift studio watching the greatest R&R band of all time work their magic after having been thru Beatlemania and the transition of the summer of love (mid 60's) movement into what they became just before the breakup.
It's also interesting to see John and Paul's obvious connections to each other and their craft and to see John in general at work and play within this context. Other than produced or selected news bits, how he was on a day to day basis, I had no clue. Immensely talented as are all four of them. And of course their sense of humor reigns supreme all the time.
I recommend this to anyone who even has a slight interest in this band. It's very entertaining and insightful to how 4 of the most creative musical artists of all time got on with one another and crafted some of the most timeless music ever.
    Just watch it!
    Thanks Peter Jackson!

I like the way the song Get Back starts. It’s something like a single multicolored scarf is pulled out of a hat and within a second or two the single scarf becomes hundreds of multicolored scarves with some invisible wind blowing on them with this infectious rhythm And anybody who listens is swept up and carried away. resistance is futile until they take you back to a gentle landing.

The BluRay that came out a few years back (the one with all their music videos; Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, etc.) is utter shit and grainy as f*ck. Sure it was better than what we had before (which would have been in SD) but after seeing what a proper restoration looks like, I'm all for letting Mr. Jackson have a crack at it. And that would include Help! and MMT.

@ElyC West Yeah...I know film grain is a visual style (hell, a lot of directors today still prefer it) but, as is common in life, it all comes down to a matter of individual taste. I prefer the smudgy/smeary (as you call it) look to the grainy, dated, look we got with 1+. If you have a look at a lot of the comments in this thread (not just this one) many have commented how Peter Jackson's footage looks as though it was shot today. The 1+ footage looks like it was shot in the 60s, so...yeah...I guess that's all I have to say about that.
