A bank is no different to any other business. Their security is not my concern, my responsibility or my remit. Quite why an employee would approach a member of the public outside expecting him to comply is bizarre. Imagine if the owner of a chip shop ran out into the road and asked someone to stop listening to his fish sizzling. It's exactly the same thing.

It seems we are getting to a stage where we are no longer going to able to observe anything in our town centres, whether it is with a camera or with our own eyes.
If we are out and about we are going to have to be going somewhere with a purpose and not stopping to observe our surroundings as the paranoia is just getting out of hand with all this talk of a security or a terrorist risk.

This is the 15-minuting transition in action. Like when they Sovietized East Germany, it didn't happen overnight, the iron fist was brought down gradually.
Look up UN sustainable development goals, 15 minute cities, panopticon etc. It won't be long until loitering is illegal or socially unacceptable to the extent that people don't want to do it even if it's technically allowed.

  • @wakeywarrior

It’s just astonishing someone can approach someone on a public pavement conducting lawful activity and demand that they stop that activity. How would taking pictures be a ‘security risk’. Anyone who wants to plan something nefarious can just come, stand surreptitiously(leaning on a wall etc) and ‘case’ the premises all they want, without raising suspicion about themselves?

they should ask people carrying bags not to walk past the bank, who knows what's in those bags. I know you "can" carry a bag, but it's rude to do so. For security, you see.

If the thieves hear that the robbers are about to steal from the metro bank there will be all hell to pay.
