I love the shots of Dennis' sweet Kaiju tattoos haha. By the way, Venomoth isn't glow in the dark, but some of the paint is florescent so it glows under black light ^_^. Holy crap those are BEAUTIFUL!!!! When you first told us about her I went to check out her instagram and they looked nice but it wasn't until you showed them on camera that they really popped out as amazing! The still shots didn't do the paint job justice OMG I love them so much!!!!!

Wow they sold out so fast! I watched the video at 5:45 PM PT and then thought I'd check back after I made dinner. I just remembered three hours later and they are gone. I am not surprised since they were all amazing.
4 minutes in and one check of Candice's Instagram and I've gone from not caring at all about these figures to following her and adding them to my wishlist.

So excited for you!!! I'm excited to follow along too. I've been doing my best * not * to collect vinyl toys for years now (I had a robot collection going instead for a while) but you make me want to collect them even more than I did before >_< the vinyl toy art world is pretty amazing what artists manage to do when they rework a piece. I've had a couple sitting around waiting for me to learn to paint them forever but I never managed to get the courage to. Definitely looking forward to watching you learn.

How really cool! One of the teachers from my 3D school. Started his own toy making company (and 3D animation studio) called Applehead Factory that does similar stuff. A lot of the process reminded me of my ceramics classes in college. I wonder if Candie does her own sculpting for the toys or hires a sculptor and then paints them. If she sculpts I wonder if it's physical like in clay or with 3D software. I wonder since a lot of my work is done in 3D software and then 3D printed into physical objects.
I haven't sculpted any of my own toys YET, but I am working on perfecting my sculpting skills. So far I've worked with sculpey clays and Magic sculpt resin. I would love to learn 3D software, I think that will be an essential skill now that 3D printers are becoming more easily obtainable!

I really need to get some sculpey or something. I haven't done analog sculpting in like 15 years. If you want to get into 3d sculpting I recommend 3D-Coat, It's pretty easy to learn yet quite powerful. Of course you don't have to buy a 3D printer you could use a service like Shapeways. And also cheap. If you'd like to see some of my work it's at philnolan3d.com
