Crafting Your Creative Space: Simplifying Tools, Embracing Authenticity & Building an Artistic Path

In this episode, we’re diving deep into what it truly means to create a personal and functional studio space, tailored to your artistic vision. I’ll share insights from my years as a silversmith and jewelry designer, including how to simplify your tools and avoid overstimulation from the overabundance of materials and advice in the world today. From using a butane kitchen torch to traveling light with your kit, I’ll explain why keeping things simple can lead to greater creativity and authenticity in your work.
We’ll also explore how reducing your reliance on too many tools pushes you to think more creatively and put more of yourself into each piece. I share personal experiences from my career, including my journey from working with big brands like Banana Republic to teaching and finding freedom in a simpler, nomadic setup.
At the end, we touch on why plants are a crucial part of my studio, and how energy work and talismans play a role in my creative process.
