    Beautiful! I am so going to make one of these for myself. I also love your bangle with the stones around it. Could you make a video on setting stones around a bangle. I imagine it is quite hard to get the curve on the bezels right with twisted wire etc around them so that would be super useful.

    Its actually because I dont have a 1200 square foot workshop and $30k worth to blow on tools. Now if you can show me hot to become a smith with just a small workbench and a few simple tools I can buy at Harbor Freight, then we can talk about it. And please dont try to get me to buy any of that overpriced nonsense from Rio Grande.

      Hey there, I show how to set up a complete silversmithing studio for under $500. And I use it myself when I travel. It is called the nomadic tool set for silversmithing I have a beginning tutorial called the Art of soldering bezels - I use all nomadic simplified tools and you can download the tool list there .

    I am watching this show right now but as a person who has done this before I found it lacking in the closeups that were needed to show when the solder liquified and set in. That was the most important part but no closeup done. The camera over ur head was not close enough.

    I really wish we didn’t have to wait 25 min and 20 seconds to get to making jewelry. I don’t mean to be disrespectful. I want to be a Member again, I just don’t want to Subscribe to Yoga.       Hey there, I am a mixed media artist and Jewler and I am all about the creative process. Many people do not like the changes that I have made recently but I like my changes. This is who I am. You will be able to find many people to teach you jewelry. As for my goals, i am building a retreat center in Costa Rica for art and yoga development. Growing a creative community is what I am interested in. I still do teach jewelry in my studio and online but that’s not the focus in Unfolding.     Hello Susan - great new intro; concise & 2-the-point and the mega close-ups are wonderful, as are the specific instructions ie the wire Guage and explanations. I've always been someone who needs 2 understand from a 1st-principle basis, so the more I know and understand, the more control I have in the techniques and ultimately, the outcome;) I would love to see your simple, uncomplicated and organic approach to original & unfussy ways of setting & displaying large faceted stones.     Thanks so much :) yeah I tried to do them using a regular old fashioned propane torch on an end cap with a thick leather cord in it and it cooked the ieather and never beaded up lol😂. What a stink!! It didn’t help that we were at the beach as well hahahaha. Love your videos, I learn a lot from you and your positivity is inspiring:

    when making your end caps...do you find it easier to use tubing?...or do you use sheet metal?

      You could do either. If you have the tubing that is your correct size then that works. I usually build with sheet metal because for me it’s the easiest and most efficient way.

    You are so full of jewelry knowledge. Thank you. What is used to solder brass and what’s your thoughts on brass for jewelry ?

      Brass works the same as copper and bronze. Using brass you end up having many more options such as filigree bezel wire.

      Yes! You can use copper the same way that you use bronze or brass. Enjoy

      Batterns flux. But I use anything including using just plain old borax, which is what people used to use to wash their clothing .
