Hi Andy! I'm finishing up on a complete 404 restoration... this series helped me so much. I really appreciate your time and tips. I love watching Krud Kutter melt away the nasty gunk. It's my favorite part. Take care and be safe!
congratulations on your restoration, JC. Thanks for saving that machine. Even though I have done the KK cleaning so many times I still find it very rewarding watching the transformation from gunky to a gleaming machine. Thanks for watching my channel.
Thanks for the tip about that lever. I’m going to be removing and cleaning all those plates next week. For Christmas I received a set of tools for working on my machines. I returned it and re-purchased that little starter set you have. But I bought mine in pink. I’m really excited to use them.
Yes, "fiddly' parts, right? Oh, you noticed the missing tape! I did not even think of that when making the video, haha. Man, that tape was 20 years old I think. Soaking it overnight with a wet sponge had no effect. Sprayed with wd-40, hpt hair dryer while scraping with a plastic putty knife got it off. The old glue was stubborn until it mey my Krger peanutbutter, then it gave up the ghost. AFter a little fine scratch polish remover for plastic it shined up very nicely. I will need to remember that nothing gets past you Daffycat. Very observant :) Thanks for watching.
