    Speaking of regular screws. Did Singer ever relent and use National Coarse or National Fine or Metric? When I saw that plastic panel I was thinking of those push on spring clips that lots of plastic panels are held on with. They inevitably broke the plastic pins off when prying the clips off. Pretty slick way of removing that type of clip. Are we going to see some "shower time" for this old boy? Thanks Andy.

    • @andytubesewing1953
      @andytubesewing1953  ปีที่แล้ว

      I remember hearing that when a company bought out Singer, maybe in the 1980s?, they slowly went to National-type screws. No confirmation. I was happy seeing that type of clip. Brilliant, and wish I was the inventor just to have bragging rights. Oh, I've got a long way to go before any showering, but I'll see. Thanks for watching, Ralph, and take care.

    Hi Andy, It should come as no surprise in the past you have helped me with problems from vintage singer sewing machines. I was gifted a Brother VX2150 (not sure the year 70's - 80's). I'd like to find manuals (operating / parts / service) and also I have a broken part (cross arm on bobbin spool). Do you know anyone who can help me with any or all of these items for this brand of sewing machine. Suffice it to say, I found no support on the Brother Web-site for this model. Thanks for any help. Glad to see you're feeling up to servicing you latest "wife sponsored" machine.

    • @andytubesewing1953
      @andytubesewing1953  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know anything about Brother Machines. I can't even find a reliable picture of a VX2150. None of my manual sources have any documents for that model number. The largest parts seller in the country does not list that model number. Just nothing out there, Sherri. Are you sure of the model number?

    • @bluetuber501
      @bluetuber501 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andytubesewing1953 Hi Andy, I'm so sorry, I did switch up the model number. The correct model is VX2051. More importantly, Brother Customer Support emailed me a manual. No I just hope they can help me with a part or a part number. Thank you again for your time. Have a nice day.

    Thank you, sir, for these explanations, but I have a problem with the Singer 457 sewing machine that makes a sound and the needle does not move.... Where is the problem please sir

    • @andytubesewing1953
      @andytubesewing1953  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is not much information. If the handwheel turns but the needle won't move then hold the handwheel in left hand while turning the big chrome knob to the right until tight. Try is now. If the handwheel won't even turn I would oil the machine as shown in the manual. www.singer.com/search/support?title=457 Here are a few videos for model 457: th-cam.com/play/PLsCOZgzzaiKK9GeuGLCo6ZyWv-HbheRVK.html

      @@MohamedMohamed-cn7hk I tried to give you a lot of help. Did you try when I suggested with the hand wheel? Did you loosen the chrome knob? Can you put the machine and bob and winder mode and run the motor and just the hand wheel? I understand the machine doesn't so I get that but I can't fix it through the internet and I'm a thousand miles away so you going to have to help me help you. Did you look at any of the videos I suggested? Please please please. You can even make a video with your cell phone and put it on your TH-cam channel so we can see what's going on

      Thank you sir, but I think I am damaged and there is no hope to fix it. Nima, I watched all her videos, but to no avail, as she never moves when pressing on the treadmill. Thank you, sir, for all your explanations.
