You’re not alone. I’m in the same place. It’s such a confusing experience and products can add up and be expensive. It’s so embarrassing and hurtful when people can be insensitive. I’m so grateful for all of these videos and resources that have really exploded just within the past few years. It sucks but we couldn’t deal with this crap at a better time.

I like the toppers. I never knew I could do that before. I added pony tails and wiglets and a full wig. However that was years ago. I like these Toppers. I want to look into one but I have silver hair. I haven’t seen any toppers in grey yet. This is very interesting to me now maybe one day I will find one in silver and learn how to use it well after these tutorials.i liked this a lot’ I found it very interesting. Great instructor.

They can range from a few hundred to over 2k, really depends on if you go with an existing system or go the custom route - once you go custom, everything can add up (quality of hair, french drawn, etc).

Hi Lylah, this is the BEST video I’ve seen on toppers! Thank you so much for sharing. My hair loss is actually more advanced than yours, but I disguise with thickening dark spray. I really need a topper, but had no idea about density , fit etc. This lady is so knowledgeable. It’s v difficult to know what to order for toppers , wigs etc.
Also your attitude towards hair loss is so refreshing ! You are positive and look beautiful with or without toppers.

I HOPE you see this soon if at all....so I had fusion human hair extensions and the first couple times I really didn't know how to take them out correctly so I ended up ripping a lot of hair out. MY PROBLEM is that I have hardly no hair or about a half inch left from temple all the way around to the other temple. But I have plenty of hair on the top of my head as well as the crown also enough hair all around my neckline and half way up the back of my head. So to understand better picture a full head of hair EXCEPT from temple to temple all the way around is about a half inch of hair. The rest a few inches. I can put the hair on top in a pony tail and the sides looked shaved. Kinda neat in some ways but how can I wear a head topper so that it would look natural? I can't stand the feeling of a full wig. I don't like that. Anyone have any suggestions? I want my hair looking back to what it was and the length was jusy below the top of my shoulders like a long bob. I don't know what to do?
This video was very informative, I have very thin hair in the front hairline, my part is also getting wider but I have a lot of hair in the back and sides, can you tell me what you would recommend for me. I think they the 90 density silk top might be right for me. What do you think?
I like the lighter density ones for sure! That's kind of like me, I still have a decent amount but my part is SO wide, honestly fibers and changing up my part is what I do now, but if fibers cant hide it you may have to go the topper route

Yes, I can, thank you for the request! I do have a video on my current hair oil treatment which is a mix of Coconut, Olive, and Castor Oil. You should definitely check it out, I mention in that video that oils do NOTHING for growth, rather, they keep the hair we have healthy.

So, I rarely wear my toppers, only for special occasions where I need the added volume, and yes, the clips do hurt my scalp and can cause traction alopecia (hair loss from too much tugging), if worn frequently. Many women I know claim that it doesn't hurt their scalp or cause added thinning, but there are a few who find that it does. It's totally a personal thing, depends on your scalp health, and the kind of hair loss you have. You won't know if it's right for you unless you try it. I recommend going to a salon that sells toppers, try them on and see if it's comfortable, likely if you feel nothing at all, your scalp is healthy and it wouldnt cause thinning as easily. Hope this helps!

This is so frustrating, my 17 yr old started losing hair about 4 yrs ago she'd lose a spot and it would grow back then another spot would go and now she does have new hair growth but its blond until it is over an inch long. Shes got a spot the width of my hand at the crown and its starting at the sides too. It makes me cry thinking about it. Her hair is dark dark brown and used to be so thick.
I know she needs something substantial but theres no one anywhere close to go see and the cost of these nice toppers is way more than I can afford.
Shes such an awesome kid she deserves a break.😕

Thank you! So denisity means how much hair is in the piece, 135 seems to be a consistent one, but some can be less then 100, and up to 200, its faux hair lingo.
Where can you buy these? Also what is the 2nd and 3rd favorite called.
These are all Jon Renau, you'd have to purchase through a local supplier. No idea what the names are, but I'm sure you can find those pieces on their website.

This is all very informational and I appreciate the detail included in this video. I am looking for a hair solution, however, I am also concerned about the source of the hair. I have not been able to find a fairly traded, ethical source for toppers specifically. If the OP or someone reading this has further information about ethically-sourced hair made into toppers, I would really appreciate a response. Thanks so much in advance. :-)
If women are selling their hair then none of it is ethically sourced! nobody is going to tell you the truth about it lol! if you are that worried get a synthetic one!
This video talks about hair density in percentages but toppers (other than Uniwigs) are described in terms of ounces. The consultant is very knowledgable. Would you post a link to her?

I have one; I wanted to put it everyday but then I noticed that the clips hurt my scalp and could cause traction alopecia (hair loss from too much tugging) so I stopped using it, and the fact that I had to put it eveyday kind of depressed me; so after paying 500 euros, cause I live in France; I just keep it in its box; may be if I continue losing my hair....later,, Now I just put on make up on my scalp...but I still show MY hair
I find them painful after a few hours, and personally like wigs better in terms of comfort. Though, toppers are a great solution for women without sensitive scalps so I do try to do some videos on them here and there cause they can be a life saver! But yes, I too just wear fibers every day.
@@Kaesia I just spent money on a topper and I regret it, someone told me it could be depressing, I didn't listen to her, I should have; now I just put on make up, and it seems ok;, its not as depressing as it was having to put on the topper..so; some women are ok with that but some others aren't

Hi Lylah, if you are looking for a really good quality topper I would highly recommend highline wigs. I've recently bought a topper from there and the service and quality is really good. Also, the piece that I bought looks really natural.

Definitely human hair if you want to wear it daily and in front of family/friends. You can find remy human hair toppers online under $400, I have a video for UniWigs which is definitely quite reasonable. You can also check out HighLine wigs, there are a lot of companies, it's just a matter of doing a bit of research and finding one that is in your style/price range.
I have just discovered hair toppers yesterday. For me, I need bangs plus coverage in my crown or bald spot area. I’ve looked around and can’t seem to find very long toppers with bangs and the length I want(my hair is about 21 inches from middle part). I think the gal who is trying on the toppers, could use bangs too. And my budget is SUPER tight under $1k a month.
the very best thing to do is buy a long full coverage topper and take it to your hair stylist to cut bangs into it and style it for you.
You can buy a wig, remove the base of the cap....even used wigs work and sew on clips. I make them for clients all the time. You will want open wefted type of wig.
It would have been nice to know the name or style of each topper. For example, I'd be interested in knowing which ones would allow one to create a high ponytail...such as the first one that was blonde. More details would have been nice. Yours in Gratitude

I find that that toppers generally don't look that natural, a really good quality one is needed in order to blend nicely. Let me know how it goes!!

Also, I have very thin hair and it’s short (at chin level). Can I still get a topper? My hair won’t grow past the middle of my neck.
Oh then sounds like AGA, if length is decreasing. BUT it doesn't hurt to change up your diet, do scalp massages, and take good care of your scalp! So the clips are really strong and dont need much hair to clip to, its really unlikely it'll just come off even with the strongest wind, someone would literally have to rip it off and even then it wouldn't come off lol. Yup doesn't matter the length of your hair, toppers come in different densities, since you wont have any hair past the shoulders you'd want a fuller density.

My hair comes to my chin. I’d love shoulder length or longer hair with more thickness (id be ecstatic with medium consistency hair).
If I get a topper and my hair length/thickness changes, my plan would be to tell people I got hair extensions (because no one would bat an eye if you tell people you got extensions vs a topper or wig). However, this would be something I would wear all day, every day except to bed.

Beside getting this topper. if you're still losing your hair, make sure to take daily iron pills, even when your test result comes normal. You'll see a huge difference. I did!

I'm still SOOOOO UNDECIDED!! My thumbnail photo are the 2 other toppers I own (the custom one that costed me a ton of money, and my new smaller topper from Uniwigs). I haven't yet went ahead with ordering my new custom topper, it's a lot of money so I want to be 100% sure of which cap, style, length, etc.
Its obvious she has thick hair up front. For thinning hair i prefer the bangs. I bought a topper n it looks horrible

Andie, I agree, I find toppers pretty painful, and can only wear them for about 3 hours max. But this video was to show what toppers are all about, for those who've never heard about them.
