Pro tip: use stasis on the ice blocks and knock them back for a free stun.
If anybody has trouble beating this one (I did because I ran out of weapons because he kept regenerating) you can eat an attack up meal before the fight and the buff stays after transporting to the illusory realm.
Maxy Tracks This version of the boss is quite hard, I tried to beat it without any champion powers or buffs and I would have if link would have shot his darn arrows instead of diving into the water. It was obnoxious. Why does he dive instead of be able to attack? The water really makes this easy boss a pain.

Why is everyone talking about stunning the iceblocks? Revali's Gale before he even materializes, so that as soon as he does you can bullet time his face x3 to stun, and then glide over to the platform he lands by. Charge atk plus Urbosa's Fury x2-x3 and he's out, especially if you use and atk boost before the battle. No ice blocks to deal with when he's dead in less than probably a minute game time.

Favio Herrera It’s the first trial of DLC 2 and you don’t get to keep it afterward, nor you wanna keep it. When Link wields it, obliterator insta-kill anything, yet Link is quarter-hearted as well, that can be killed by literally anything. Not mentioning no matter how many weapons you’ve got it will be the only weapon available to choose.
The infinite attack power is bad-ass, though. It said the weapon has a charge time after two uses, but that charge time is remarkably short, only a few seconds.
It's almost like they where transferred into the Devine Beasts
F*** this Water Bastard. This is the only one I had trouble with on Master Mode using Mipha's weapons and limited bow & arrows. I died 3 times and retried this 6 times with the x3 Attack buff before I finally defeated this a**hole.
Well done ConvictedBattler. Looking at how you defeated him, I had forgotten Urbosa's fury can be used in this trial. So~ basically I made this fight way harder than it should've been. I wish I went to TH-cam first and seen this. Would've save me the frustration I was having.
Well...it did felt good beating him without a guide.
Anyway, one pain in the a** gone...hopefully for good this time.

is the only way to beat him on master mode urbosas fury? have been struggling with this boss fight.
hawk1519 i've been struggling too but I made it,so do this : you need daruks protection+ urbosas fury x3.first you flurry rush him until his final form where the water goes up then you shoot the iceblocks until he throws his spear if he throws his spear you use daruks protection so he is K.O for a little time then stasis him and swim to him+use urbosas fury three times.
To this day, most people don't seem to realize this:
The best way to counter the ice blocks is to use stasis just before it hits you, then knock it back with your spear. This even works for the 5-block volley; use stasis on whichever one reaches you first, then hide behind it (the others will break when they hit it). This leads to an instant stun on the boss - which means you can keep all of your arrows to use during the laser charge.

@Patrick Connolly - Not everyone is a speedrunner, and not everyone is that good at the game. Plus, knowing how to best deal with each of his attacks gives you wider knowledge of the game and ability to recover if you mess up the quick kill.
(Plus I just think reflecting the ice blocks is a really cool detail / use of the game's systems)
I'm not a speed runner either, I just get anxious in Master Mode about enemies regenerating life when you have limited weaponry and arrows. The stasis and reflecting back strategy was NOT working for me at all, so I found the tactic I shared to be a life saver when I was getting frustrated - I'm a very average gamer.
I'm not very good at this game (I'm alright, but way worse than most TH-camrs) so the first time I fought Waterblight he kicked my ass … I still beat him on my first try though. I had read in advance that you have to re-fight the bosses of the Divine Beasts in the Champion's Ballad, but I wasn't worried at all since I assumed we would get to keep our regular armour and weapons (all of my stuff is upgraded to the 4th level). I didn't even wait for Daruk to recharge because I was sure I wouldn't need him. Boy was I wrong! I tried to flurry rush but I couldn't figure out how to do it with his big spear. And we get an extremely low amount of arrows even though I beat him almost exclusively with arrows the first time around. The strategy I ended up using was to get close to him and using mainly melee attacks, then during the second phase I threw my Ceremonial Tridents in his face once I had run out of arrows. After that I survived purely thanks to Urbosa's Fury, which was charged. I wish I had thought of using Revali's Gale, that's really smart! I appreciate the challenge though, felt way nicer to win this way than it would have been to win with my current incredibly OP gear. He has only 800 HP after all, that's less than a Silver Lizalfos!
