    Your review was instrumental (har har) in my decision to buy a B2 yesterday 👍🏼 As a beginner I wanted a piano that sounds good, feels nice and doesn't have to many distracting features. I also like the clean design. I believe it's fairly easy to wire up the Korg pedal connector to a generic "jack" pedal should the original pedal ever give out...

    The B2 is definitely an amazing midi keyboard and I love the weighted keys. But as a music producer, I don't find the tone of the piano presets to be desirable in really anything I've worked on besides lofi (which I don't make much of). I usually just stick to using it to control VST's.

    • @channelmagenta8721

      But does it feel pleasant for midi and recording??? cause thats my primary goal

    • @irbomusic
      @irbomusic ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@channelmagenta8721 Been a while since I made this comment. The tones of the piano presets actually aren't that bad if you know what to use them for, and the keys are actually way too weighted. In the 11 months since this comment, I've played other keyboards as well as multiple real upright pianos and I hadn't realized how ridiculously weighted the Korg B2 is. I have an upright at home and not even that has keys as heavy as the B2. Also, the audio has begun distorting when you put the volume low which is a problem

    As a KORG dealer and long time fan of the brand, it's a real shame most people in the US are not willing to spend the money on one of these. Over here they go for $750. 7:32 You do not need an audio interface device or drivers to record music onto your computer
    This was big, i just ordered it and thought this would be an issue.
    I'm a complete beginner so thought it would be nice if i could send records to a friend of mine or even play live online.
    This makes it much more simpler!

  • @Zoco101
    @Zoco101 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Splitting and layering features not required on gigs because of audio over USB? Many of us are very reluctant to take computers to our gigs. There's not even a separate line-out on the B2. You have to use the headphone socket, so that probably cancels your onboard speakers and makes it hard to find compatible cables which are long enough.
    The sound and action are pretty good, but I prefer the Alesis Prestige which I have tested alongside the B2.
    If you're stage oriented, like me, you might prefer the Korg D1. It has a better action a simple screen, a strong build and controls close to hand. Line outputs of course. It still has no keyboard split, and has no speakers, but it does have legacy MIDI connectors, which are better for gigs than USB is.

I'm absolutely impressed with the tones... But I don't want a piano for playing "games" we already have 3 that have hundreds of tones..I was just wondering if I really needed the Roland's bells and whistles and it doesn't justify the larger price tag, heck no! Drooling over the Korg now and counting my pennies for when I'm ready to get it. 😊

    You’re the first reviewer I’ve seen that actually plays the instrument so that I could get an idea of tone.
    I recently bought an Artesia PA-88H + and I’m a little concerned about how “strident” it sounds. I’ve rolled off as much treble as I can, and boosted the bass as much as I can…but I’m not getting the “warm” sound I’m looking for, plus the organ sounds are only Church Organ or Organ, again not what I’m looking for. Do you have any suggestions on achieving the sound I’m after?
    I almost bought a Koro B2 Black for a little more than what I paid for the artesia, but the Korg could not be shipped from Queensland to Victoria by JB Hi Fi.
    Would appreciate it if you could reply.

      Both are kind of the same in some ways. I know that the speakers on the korg are louder than the p45 as the korg has 2 15w speakers while the p45 has 2 6w speakers

    I’m planning to use digital piano, more like 88 keys MIDI controller with some additional knobs and faders like Monogram. What is the space over speakers? Is it possible to set there a laptop and some controllers? Thank you.

    Thanks for sharing! Question: are the texture of the keys slippery or do they have some grip? Like say a Roland fp-10 has?

    great review. has the poliphony been a hindrance in your testing of this piano? personally between the B2 and the Privia 160, but the more I learn about each piano in that price range(including the P45 and FP-10), the more analysis paralysis i get.

    • @eyesofvenus
      @eyesofvenus 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This has 120 polyphony which should not be a hindrance. The P45 only has 64 which is a bit low for 2020.

    Received mine today - it is my first piano indeed. However I can hear a very audible hissing sound through the speakers, as well as through the headphones. It's constant and it can also be heard when the piano is being played. Tried everything - unplugging everything, plugging it in different rooms, in different parts of the room - nothing affects the hissing. I understand that a certain white noise level is to be expected and tolerated, but is a sound that can be heard from several meters away normal?

    I'm torn between the Korg B2 (the non stand variant) and the Roland FP-10. My 8 year old son has been learing for 3 years intermittently (because ... COVID) and is being taught on an acoustic piano, but we need sth for house practice too. Now the Korg B2 looks wonderful, I like the looks of it and what I see on reviews feature-wise, but also the action of the Roland FP-10 is praised so much. I'm happy with the output options of the Korg, and bluetooth lack isn't really a deal breaker for me. What do you think I should get that would be enough for years of piano lessons to come?
    (As a side note, he has been practicing on a borrowed Yamaha PSR-A300 with no "action", so I really want to get him sth that will also help him build strength via key resistance, and be as close as possible to the acoustic one - can't really go the extra mile for one right now)

    • @BambiLena666
      @BambiLena666 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      idk if you already solved this, Ive been debating between the two and watching tons of reviews. If thats your price range from everything ive seen everyone agrees the FP10 is the most similar in key feel to an acoustic piano. If youre willing to go higher in price there might be better options, and do look at other reviews as well. Just from what ive seen FP10 is most recommended if you plan on going on to play an acoustic one. Tho if your son has already had experience on an acoustic one, you could take him to a store and have him be your best test of how close the FP10 feels to the real one.
